Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu turned his anger Sunday, Dec. 9, on Hamas leader Khaled Meshaal’s vow to cheering Gazans to “return to Jaffa, Haifa and Safed… Safed… Safed” (where Mahmoud Abbas was born) in a speech marking the 25th anniversary of the Palestinian Islamist group’s founding.

The Hamas leader swore to “free the land of Palestinian centimeter by centimeter, from the river to the sea and from the south to the north” with no concessions.

“Resistance is the basis for unity between the Palestinian factions,” he said.

Netanyahu criticized Abbas, as head of the Palestinian Authority for failing to condemn the extremist Hamas leader’s words – unrealistically, because Abbas must have privately applauded every word.

“The Palestinian president is striving for unity with the same Hamas that is supported by Iran,” said the prime minister. “We want true peace, but we will not make the same mistake of unilateral withdrawal as the one that brought Hamas to power in the Gaza Strip.”
This sort of rhetoric may account for Netanyahu’s lead in popular opinion polls, but there was one significant point in Meshaal’s inflammatory remarks that he omitted to mention: the boast that Hamas had dared where greater powers had held back, i.e., fired rockets against Tel Aviv and Jerusalem.

This was a sore point. It underlined the fact that last month, Israel ended its eight-day air offensive against Hamas without delivering the coup de grace for making the offensive an undisputed success or repairing Israel’s deterrence strength against its radical enemies.

As it was, Hamas could triumphantly display at the center of Gaza City, as the backdrop for Meshaal’s rants, an outsize papier maché depiction of the M-75 rocket, which reached Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. It was “the real victor” of the confrontation with Israel, he declared.

To underscore the point, bottles of perfume labeled “The Victorious M-75,” went on sale in Gaza shops.

Israeli officials dismissed the Hamas leader’s strutting and the depictions as ridiculous antics prompted by efforts to gloss over the profound and damaging impact of Israel’s brief campaign had undoubtedly inflicted on Hamas.
However, it is beginning to emerge that Hamas was won over to halt its long missile blitz on southern Israel by three Israeli concessions: The IDF gave up its 300-500-meter wide security belt inside Gaza, established as a safeguard against continuous Palestinian attempts to carry out cross-border terrorist attacks and kidnap Israeli soldiers; a promise to eschew targeted assassinations of terrorist leaders on the understanding that their resumption would end the ceasefire; and the widening of the stretch of Mediterranean water accessible to Palestinian fishermen.
The unwritten ceasefire accord negotiated by Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi and US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and announced on Nov. 21, did not require Hamas to end weapons smuggling into the enclave from Iran, Libya and Sudan. This was covered by an understanding with the US and Egypt to take joint action for stopping the flow of illicit arms. It was confirmed by President Barack Obama in a personal promise to Netanyahu.

Yet, 20 days have gone by and no such action is in sight, aside from a few scattered tours of inspection by American army officers which petered out in early December. Since the ceasefire, Israeli soldiers now patrolling the Gaza Strip border on foot were forbidden to fire on would-be Palestinian trespassers, even when they came at the fence en masse.

Eased restrictions invite Gaza violence

On Nov. 26, a lone Palestinian took advantage of the eased restrictions against the terrorist organizations – including the al Qaeda cells teeming in the Gaza Strip – and walked 8 kilometers into Israel without being apprehended. He entered a home in the Sdeh Avraham moshav and attacked a woman with a knife. Fearing for her four children who were in another room, Yael Matzpun fought hard and drove him away.

She was awarded a certificate for bravery by President Shimon Peres. Netanyahu and Barak responded to the incident by turning to Washington with a demand to lean on Cairo to prevent murderers from Gaza using the ceasefire to attack Israeli civilians.
The 350,000 Israelis living close to the Gaza border discovered that their safety was no longer in the hands of the IDF but at the mercy of a fragile ceasefire, granted conditionally by terrorist organizations and accepted by the Netanyahu government. They are no longer pursued by media interviewers, but when asked, they will tell you about the life that springs up from the Gaza border fence night by night: Palestinians rockets are fired to explode just short of the border fence and constant alarms signal Palestinians trying to sneak across – harassments that just miss violating the ceasefire fire.
There is no question among civilians or servicemen in the area that the ceasefire is too fragile to survive.

Monday, Dec. 10, an organization identified with al Qaeda announced triumphantly that Hamas had released its leader, Abu Hafez al-Maqdasi, from jail. An exceptionally violent and radical Salafist, al-Maqdasi has close ties with the Salafi terrorist groups marauding Sinai. His release portends the revival of terrorist incursions and Grad missile attacks on Israel from the Egyptian peninsula.

And so the clock is ticking backwards to the pre-Gaza operation days of unremitting violence. But the negative fallback from the way the prime minister and Defense Minister Ehud Barak handled the Gaza operation – and the terms they accepted for the ceasefire – are here to stay: They are apparent in the upsurge of Palestinian violence against Israelis on the West Bank and the intolerable situation confronting Israeli troops responsible for security in the territory:

Toll on IDF morale, boost for Palestinians

The damage is palpable in three areas:

1. Its toll on IDF morale, which was negatively influenced by the government’s action in calling up and holding 50,000 reservists outside the Gaza Strip for a week, ready and willing to pursue a ground offensive to round off the air operation at great sacrifice, and then sending them home without firing a shot. Their low spirits soon affected other reserve units serving on the West Bank and the Lebanese and Syrian frontiers.

2. Its encouragement to West Bank Palestinians, who were quick to catch on to the new rules of engagement: After witnessing Israel soldiers standing helpless in the face of Palestinians trying to smash through the Gaza border, they staged five incidents since last week to test the ground: Although armed, Israeli soldiers faced with stone-throwing Palestinian mobs on the West Bank screaming insults, did not open fire. Instead they ran for their lives. One of those incidents at Qaddum near Nablus was filmed and broadcast.
The soldiers could only complain that, on the one hand, the rules about opening fire were unclear, while on the other, they were exposed to violent Palestinians buoyed up by Netanyahu’s Gaza policy.
It was therefore not surprising to hear Monday, Dec. 10, that the Palestinian Authority ruled by Mahmoud Abbas had given Hamas permission to celebrate its 25th anniversary with a mass assembly in the West Bank town of Nablus on Thursday, Dec. 13.
By foregoing its security control of the violent Gaza Strip, Israel is also beginning to lose its security footing in the West Bank too. The talk in the air of “Palestinian unity and brotherhood” encourages Palestinian extremists to hope that Hamas will soon be able to overrun the West Bank as it did the Gaza Strip – “the same Hamas that is supported by Iran,” as Netanyahu pointed out.

But will he stop the assembly taking place when the speakers no doubt plan to assert that the Hamas “victory” in Gaza was fought equally for all its Palestinian brethren?”

There are several interweaving themes contained within this site. One of them revolves around multi-faceted threats against western-based liberties and freedoms. Atop the list of dangers is thwarting an all out push – within the west and beyond – from Islamists via their plans to implant Shariah Law throughout the globe. Sounds like a tall order, but for those who think in terms of centuries, hardly bothered by prevailing winds, their goal is indeed doable.

And there are a myriad of ways to implant Shariah Law, yet one stands out above the rest – cowing the infidel population into submission, even if it entails separating a head from its shoulders, not unlike the tactics used by the most vicious gang bangers, MS 13.

‘Sharia The Centerpiece Of Egypt’s New Constitution. Thanks, Barack’

“Thanks to Barack Hussein Obama’s Arab Spring scheme of turning the Egypt of Hosni Mubarek into a “representative democracy”, the US is now reduced to watching as a former friend and ally morphs into an America-hating, Sharia-based theocracy.

Six months after promising to build a government based on “freedom and social justice”, Egypt’s newly-elected president,Mohamed Morsi, authored a decree granting himself a level of dictatorial authority that even Mubarek did not enjoy. As a result, demonstrations began throughout the nation, culminating last week in Morsi fleeing the presidential palace in Cairo.

Though he has since rescinded most of the contents of that decree, including an article that had elevated his own authority above that of Egypt’s Supreme Judicial Council, Morsi refused to alter the date upon which Egyptian voters will decide the fate of the country’s newly written constitution. Authored almost exclusively by members of Morsi’s own Muslim Brotherhood party, the draft constitution has caused widespread concern among minority groups that literally walked out of the body charged with writing the document, Egypt’s Constituent Assembly. Indeed, so thoroughly one-sided was the document’s creation that the Supreme Constitutional Court declared “void” this Islamist-controlled legislature.

But confidant their “Islamist organizational muscle” will swing the vote in their favor, Morsi and the majority Muslim Brotherhood demand that the referendum take place as scheduled on December 15^th.

What does the prospective new constitution contain? Examined by the Egypt Independent, the document states that the principles of Sharia will be “the main source of legislation.” It “gives the state the power to preserve the ‘genuine nature’ of the Egyptian family and its ‘moral values’.” And of course, the state will be permitted to “intervene in private lives [and] monopolize the meaning of moral values.”

The right of Egyptians to vote will be limited by “legal regulation”; trade unions will be controlled by the state; the insulting of ‘prophets’ becomes illegal; freedom of the media is limited to reporting on the ‘principles of state and society’; parliamentary sessions may be held in secret along with certain court proceedings; and the police will be empowered to “preserve public morality.”

In writing the draft constitution, the Islamist Muslim Brotherhood “…limits the definition of freedoms and rights to the principles established in the first section of the constitution”, that being the Article which makes clear the “main source of legislation” shall be Sharia!

Barack Obama literally kindled the overthrow of American ally Hosni Mubarek and supported Muslim Brotherhood candidate Mohamed Morsi from nomination through election. During the process, the Obama White House maintained that the people of Egypt and the United States would benefit greatly from the representative democracy that Morsi was certain to bring into being.

But it’s apparent that Obama’s principle intent was to manage the demise of an American ally and cheer from the sidelines as the defunct government was eventually replaced by an Islamic theocracy. Perhaps Obama believed that Morsi would act the part of grateful acolyte, bestow favors, and permit Egypt to be guided by what was politically beneficial for the American president! If so, whether a Muslim himself or not, Obama has a great deal to learn about the practitioners of Islam.

So thanks a lot, Barack, for creating yet another Islamist enemy of the United States in the Middle East. Like the man said, “they couldn’t ‘a done it without ya!”

New Army Manual Orders Soldiers Not To Criticize Taliban

Here is a strong indicator that the Obama Administration’s crusade to appease Islam has gone too far; a new U.S. military handbook for troops deployed to the Middle East orders soldiers not to make derogatory comments about the Taliban or criticize pedophilia, among other outrageous things. It gets better; the new manual, which is around 75 pages, suggests that Western ignorance of Afghan culture— not Taliban infiltration—is responsible for the increase in deadly attacks by Afghan soldiers against the coalition forces.

The soon-to-be-released Army handbook is still being drafted, but a mainstream newspaper got a sneak preview and published an article that should infuriate the American taxpayers funding the never-ending war on terror. The manual is being created because someone with authority bought the theory that cultural insensitivity is driving insider attacks on U.S. troops in Afghanistan. More than three dozen insider attacks have killed 63 members of the U.S.-led coalition this year, according to the article, and some blame “American cultural ignorance.” The bottom line is that troops may experience social-cultural shock and/or discomfort when interacting with Afghan security forces, the new military handbook says. “Better situational awareness/understanding of Afghan culture will help better prepare [troops] to more effectively partner and to avoid cultural conflict that can lead toward green-on-blue violence.”

The draft leaked to the newspaper offers a list of “taboo conversation topics” that soldiers should avoid, including “making derogatory comments about the Taliban,” “advocating women’s rights,” “any criticism of pedophilia,” “directing any criticism towards Afghans,” “mentioning homosexuality and homosexual conduct” or “anything related to Islam.”

At least one high-ranking military official had the backbone to publicly criticize the new manual, albeit through a spokesperson. U.S. Marine General John Allen, the top commander in Afghanistan, doesn’t endorse it and rejected a proposed forward drafted by Army officials in his name. “He does not approve of its contents,” according to a military spokesman quoted in the story. Earlier this year the Obama Administration changed the way federal agents are trained to combat terrorism and violent extremism by eliminating all materials that shed a negative light on Muslims.

Under White House orders, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) destroyed instructional material that characterizes Muslims as prone to violence or terrorism in a government-wide call to end Islamophobia. Under Obama practically every major federal agency has been ordered to participate in Muslim outreach initiatives, including the Justice Department with a special program to protect Islamic civil rights, Homeland Security meetings with extremist Muslim organizations and the nation’s space agency (NASA) with an unprecedented mission to focus on Muslim diplomacy.

Additionally, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton signed a special order to allow the reentry of two radical Islamic academics whose terrorist ties long banned them from the U.S. and the administration sent an America-bashing mosque leader (Feisal Abdul Rauf) who blames U.S. foreign policy for the 9/11 attacks on a Middle Eastern outreach mission. The Obama Administration even ordered a government-funded meal program for home-bound seniors to offer halal cuisine prepared according to Islamic law.

Let’s take a brief stroll down memory lane but this mental meandering will shortly bring us squarely back to the present. Patience, dear readers. All in due time.

To begin with, to believe that Vince Foster (deputy counsel to former President Clinton, you know, the POTUS who committed perjury; was impeached; yet still kept his job, yes, that lying scum) committed suicide is to believe in the tooth fairy. Similarly, to posit that Benghazigate has anything to do with a video is to conclude that pigs can fly. Or if you buy that several mysterious deaths, connected to the Thug-in-Chief, are accidental, well, then unicorns are real too. And these are just a tiny sampling of the too many lies they tell/sell, and whereby DOA bodies are ‘inexplicably’ never far behind. Who do they think they are, Houdini?

The point being, when leaders – especially those who are supposed to lead the free world – feel that they are untouchable, tyranny is not far behind. And when a compliant media jumps on board, the amount of lying becomes more than a free country can bear. Its price is inordinately and exponentially too high to pay.

Some of us may recall the tall tales told, when Clinton’s reprobate White House decided that the Oklahoma City terror attack was not the people’s business. Say what? The biggest terror attack pre 9/11/01 (other than Pearl Harbor) became one cover up after another. Thank heavens there are still those intrepid enough to follow leads, wherever they go. And despite whatever pressure is exerted to ‘close the case’ some keep digging. Kudos. The following recently released expose should whet many truth seeker’s appetites.

‘Following Orders: The Death of Vince Foster, Clinton White House Lawyer’

Prologue – Canada Free Press, Dec 4, 2012

While it might have initially appeared that the deputy counsel to the president of the United States was taking a nap in a park—lying neatly face-up on a steep embankment with his feet pointing down—Vincent W. Foster Jr. was not napping. He was dead. Dressed in expensive trousers and a white dress shirt, less than eight miles from the White House, he was lying dead. A single gun-shot wound to the head. Dead. Some of the blood on Foster’s face was still wet, but starting to dry. A trail of bloodflowed upwards from his nose to above his ear. The man who found his body said there was no gun, but after he left to notify police, a gun appeared in Foster’s hand. It was July 20, 1993. President William Jefferson Clinton’s Arkansas childhood friend, and First Lady Hillary Clinton’s Rose Law Firm partner, and White House confidante was dead.

At the pinnacle of his law career, where rumors of a U.S. Supreme Court appointment abounded, Foster, the loving husband and father of three, who worked directly with the most powerful couple in the world, was dead. The tall, handsome, Southern gentleman, would never see his forty-ninth birthday, never laugh, smile, or speak again. The twinkle in his hazel eyes was forever darkened. Vince Foster was dead.

White House reporter: “Considering Mr. Foster’s position and his status [in the Clinton White House], isn’t it reasonable to assume that law enforcement agencies are at least going to make some attempt to determine a motive here? For example, if you don’t do that, you’ll leave open wild possibilities, such as that he may have been being blackmailed or anything like that—just to rule those things out? Don’t you think it’s reasonable that a law enforcement agency will attempt to establish a motive?”It was an executive assistant in Hillary’s presidential counsel’s office, Linda Tripp, who was officially one of the last people to have seen Foster alive in the White House.

Clinton Press Secretary Dee Dee Myers: “My only point, is that at this point, the Park Service Police is the only agency that’s investigating [Vince Foster’s death], and that the objective of their search is simply to determine that it was a suicide.”

Are we clear? The objective of the investigation into Vince Foster’s death was “simply to determine that it was a suicide [emphasis mine].” The conclusion was predetermined. From the get-go, homicide, foul play, the possibility of blackmail, a potential risk toAmerica’s national security, was never investigated. Facts be damned. Vince Foster committed suicide in Fort Marcy Park. No need for the Clinton White House to cooperate with investigators or the press. They didn’t. Case closed. Move on …

In America there has been a slow, creeping destruction of the freedom of speech and of the rule of law, and soon all Americans will lose free speech completely if they do not fight for it now. Though the road to silencing legitimate questions from the media and Americans alike may have been a long, deliberate one, crafted by those in power like Hillary and Bill Clinton—used to stay in power, and to thwart the rule of law—it becomes harder to reverse the silencing trend, expose government malfeasance, and hold corruption accountable if people do not stand up and speak now. Like an undiagnosed cancer, silence permits corruption to grow. Not to speak is to speak. You must choose your side.

The word “cover-up” is defined as: “a usually concerted effort to keep an illegal or unethical act or situation from being made public.”

It has often been said in the history of modern political scandals, that the cover-up is much worse than the crime or the incident. I will leave that to you to decide.

The First Amendment to the United States Constitution states: “Congress shall make no law … abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press ….” Despite the fact that Vince Foster’s sudden death was the shocking and questionable passing of the highestranking U.S. government official since President John Kennedy was assassinated on November 22, 1963, asking obvious questions about it became taboo and politically incorrect.

Even though the Senate Whitewater Committee investigation’s conclusion revealed that there was “a concerted effort by senior White House officials to block career law enforcement investigators from conducting a thorough investigation” into Foster’s death, and recommended “that steps be taken to insure that such misuse of the White House counsel’s office does not recur in this, or any future, administration,” meaningful and honest reporting was still attacked. Journalists or investigators who dared to speak truth to power by asking legitimate and common-sense questions were sidelined, mocked, dismissed as right-wing hacks or scolded by Hillary for inflicting “great emotional and monetary damage on innocent people.”

Americans no longer had a right to know what was happening in their White House, and the lawlessness and secrecy in government has only gotten worse ever since. This is one of the many reasons why the Foster story must be told now. As history is repeating itself in the scandal-ridden Obama-Clinton regime—from Fast and Furious, to Wikileaks and Benghazi-Gate—investigators are being thwarted once again, and Americans are in danger around the world and at home.

Yet despite that, the Obama-Clinton regime was reelected to lead America for a second term. Hillary and Bill Clinton are being re-crafted as moderates, and speculation for a Hillary 2016 presidential run endures whether or not she remains serving as President Obama’s Secretary of State. It’s upside down. Americans deserve to know what happened in their White House and they have been lied to. Americans deserve to know what is happening in their White House now and always and they are still being lied to with no accountability or consequence in sight.

This must end—now.

“One of five Iranian arms containers seized in Naples

The seizure of five containers by the Maritime Police in the Port of Naples last Friday, Dec. 7 – before they were loaded on an Egyptian freighter – shut down two of Iran’s mainline clandestine arms routes to the Hamas-ruled Gaza from Kosovo and Macedonia via Croatia and Italy, DEBKAfile reports exclusively from its military and intelligence sources.

The Naples police acted on a tip-off from Israel. Iranian arms smuggling rings were then partly rolled up in other parts of Italy together with “another cache of weapons.”
Western intelligence sources say this Israeli undercover operation was equal in significance and scope to the bombing on Oct. 24 of the Iranian-Sudanese missile industrial center at Yarmouk and the destruction of a stock of Fajr-5 rockets that was bound for the Gaza Strip through Sinai.
The Naples operation shut down two more Iranian clandestine arms-smuggling routes and sources of arms for Palestinian terrorists – this one from southern Europe.
Contrary to the reports that the five contraband containers were seized aboard an Egyptian vessel anchored in Naples, DEBKAfile reveals that they were in fact removed from trucks entering the port with documents for loading the containers aboard that vessel. The documents described the containers’ contents as building materials coming from Verona, 570 kilometers to the north of Naples, which has large factories making tiles and other wares for bathrooms and kitchens.
Forewarned from Israel, Italian security inspectors ordered the truck drivers to pull over to an isolated section of the port and put up an entry forbidden notice. The first containers opened were packed with arms and other military equipment, including electronic devices for improving rocket accuracy, hundred of anti-tank missiles and a large quantity of snipers’ rifles for sharpshooting. The ship’s destination was listed as Alexandria, Egypt on the papers.
An Egyptian man waiting to place the cargo aboard the ship was detained for interrogation and charged with illegal possession of arms. Further arrests in other parts of Italy followed.

The Italian authorities have been uncharacteristically secretive about the identity of the Egyptian detainee, their additional arrests, the name of the Egyptian freighter and even the nationality of its flag – in consideration of the sensitivity of Israel’s undercover work against Iran’s contraband arms networks and routes.

According to DEBKAfile’s intelligence sources, Iran has developed highly sophisticated networks for smuggling arms to its allies which run by land and by sea. Two begin in Kosovo and Macedonia where local Muslim collaborators purchase the weapons and pack them on container trucks ready for their first lap to Croatia, then on to Verona, where they wait for weeks – or sometimes months – before continuing to the next lap. This break in their journey is used to make sure they are not followed and throw of the scent if they are.
For another route, our sources report that Italian sea smugglers offload containers from Iranian merchant vessels in the Adriatic Sea and bring them ashore at small inlets in the northern Italian province of Veneto. They too are trucked to the clandestine terminal Iran has set up in Verona. When they are certain they have not been spotted, the trucks are sent down the long road to Naples.
There, the containers are loaded onto Egyptian freighters bound for Alexandria and Port Said. But first, they stop off quietly at the northern Sinai port of El Arish, where Hamas operatives are waiting to offload the arms and push the new consignment through smuggling tunnels into the Gaza Strip.”

‘Make Plans Before the House Collapses’

“Back in January 1940, and with Munich in mind, the discerning George Orwell said that what worried him “is the uncertainty as to whether the ordinary people in countries like England grasp the difference between democracy and despotism well enough to want to defend their liberties.” Orwell also discerned that moral relativism and pacifism flourished among the intelligentsia.

The reelection of Obama suggests that what Orwell said about England in 1940 applies today in America. Fortunately, unlike England, the United States has a federal, not a unitary, form of government. This hinders despotism. It also hinders civil war and revolution—neither of which are far-fetched scenarios, given America’s economic plight which may be exacerbated by racial and/or ethnic tensions.

Democracy is dwindling in America. Her two foundational documents, the Declaration and the Constitution have been eviscerated. Nihilism and a crude atheism are on the rise, especially in academia.

Theodore Dalrymple (“Our Culture, What’s Left of It”), and Melanie Phillips (“The World Turned Upside Down”) portray a dismal picture of England. England is undergoing dhimmitude; and America, which is becoming a nanny-state, one losing its national identity, is not far behind. (Samuel Huntington’s “Who Are We?” tells part of the story. And then there’s Lee Harris (“The Next American Civil War”).

So, as was the case with Orwell in 1940, there’s reason to be worried as we approach 2013. When Obama returned the bust of Winston Churchill to England, this did not augur well for the future of the United States. But what’s bad for America is bad for the free world. I would urge certain Americans—the few skilled in statesmanship—to make plans before the house collapses.”

‘Obama Arms The Enemy Again’ – Western Center For Journalism

“In a rare moment of journalism, the New York Times reported that the Obama Administration secretly encouraged Arab countries to ship arms to rebel forces in Libya during the rebellion to oust longtime dictator Muammar Qaddafi. The arms were provided to the rebels and Islamic extremists with links to al Qaeda in a Muslim Brotherhood-sponsored insurrection to turn the oil-rich African nation into an Islamic republic.

The flow of weapons and supplies from al Qatar and the United Arab Emirates (with the help of the Administration-lead NATO airstrikes) overwhelmed the Libyan military and brought about the fall of the Qaddafi regime. Militant groups were well-armed and provided a viable threat to the current government of Libya and everyone else in the embattled nation. The unstable situation on the ground in Libya may very well repeat itself in Syria, given the way events are unfolding. The current situation on the ground in Libya, Egypt, and now Syria is an indication that the Arab Spring movement touted by Barack Obama is turning out to be a miserable failure.

The Obama White House encouraged al Qatar and United Arab Emirates to arm the Libyan rebels and the Islamic extremists. Later, the President complained that the movement of arms was not coordinated with the White House to monitor who received the shipments of arms. In war and disaster zones, proper logistics of equipment distribution never work as planned. To date, no administration has learned that simple lesson despite clear evidence of the truth, media rosy pictures notwithstanding.

The extremists were provided small arms; and as long as the press never reported it, no one was the wiser. The fact is Barack Obama encouraged Arab countries to arm al Qaeda in Libya and had the nerve to insist that the Emir of Qatar be transparent about his country’s involvement in Libya.

The al Qaeda-linked militants were well armed during the 7 hour siege of Benghazi; yet no one “knows” where the weapons came from? During the effort to remove Colonel Qaddafi from power, the Obama Administration and the CIA weren’t too concerned who received arms, as long as the Islamists were loyal to the Muslim Brotherhood. By the way, if you didn’t know, the Mein Kampf-inspired Muslim Brotherhood just happens to be the parent organization of al Qaeda.”

How did Washington become the best friend of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, even as President Mohamed Morsi was asserting dictatorial powers and his followers were beating up secular liberals in the streets of Cairo? It’s a question many Arabs ask these days, and it deserves an answer.

That faint glimmer of hope one might have that Ignatius is at least seeing the light, begins to flicker in the next paragraph:

Morsi and his Brotherhood followers are on a power trip after decades of isolation and persecution. You could see that newfound status when Morsi visited the United Nations in September and even more so during the diplomacy that led to last month’s cease-fire in Gaza, brokered by Morsi and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. The Brotherhood leaders had gone from outcasts to superstars, and they were basking in the attention.

Isolation and persecution? Gee, David, do you think it’s possible that the problems might have been with the Brotherhood to begin with? You know, considering their goal has been an Islamic caliphate since their inception.

And let’s be honest: The Obama administration has been Morsi’s main enabler. U.S. officials have worked closely with him on economic development and regional diplomacy. Visiting Washington last week,Morsi’s top aides were touting their boss’s close contacts with President Obama and describing phone calls between the two leaders that led to the Gaza cease-fire.

Morsi’s unlikely role as a peacemaker is the upside of the “cosmic wager” Obama has made on the Muslim Brotherhood. It illustrates why the administration was wise to keep its channels open over the past year of post-revolutionary jockeying in Egypt.

But power corrupts, and this is as true with the Muslim Brotherhood as with any other group that suddenly finds itself in the driver’s seat after decades of ostracism. Probably thinking he had America’s backing, Morsi overreached on Nov. 22 by declaring that his presidential decrees were not subject to judicial review. His followers claim that he was trying to protect Egypt’s revolution from judges appointed by Hosni Mubarak. But that rationale has worn thin as members of Morsi’s government resigned in protest, thousands of demonstrators took the streets and, ominously, Muslim Brotherhood supporters began counterattacking with rocks, clubs and metal pipes.

While it’s good that Ignatius is admitting that Obama is enabling Morsi, the former’s attempt to make lemonade out of some really sour lemons fails miserably. You see, when one applies Ignatius’ logic to Obama’s decision to cozy up to Morsi, that decision was the result of wisdom on the part of the administration after the fall of Mubarak. Uh, David, the Obama administration helped to facilitate the fall of Mubarak!

That part about Morsi being a “peacemaker” having an “upside” proves that Ignatius is nowhere close to understanding the situation.

It’s time to deny it our sons and daughters and our grandchildren. For those young enough to serve, it’s time to deny it yourselves. It’s time to boycott the U.S. milita.

What am I talking about? Have I completely flipped my lid? Who will protect the nation from foreign enemies in these turbulent times without manpower?

Let me begin with something that put me over the edge: When foreign-serving U.S. military personnel were systematically denied by the Barack Obama administration the right to vote in the 2012 presidential election, I decided I would never encourage any son, daughter or friend of mine to enlist voluntarily in the U.S. military again – at least during the next four years.

That was a disgusting, self-serving and deliberate political act by a White House hell-bent to maintain power by hook or by crook. And it denied those risking their lives for their country the sacrosanct right to participate in our electoral system.

That was it for me.

And I don’t just blame Obama. I blame every general or admiral who carried out those orders.

But there’s much more to this idea of a military boycott than just that national disgrace.

The man who made that political calculation is commander in chief of the U.S. military. It’s not that I don’t trust his judgment. It’s that I do. I trust him to make the wrong decision about the use of the military in every situation that arises.

I don’t want to see the best and the brightest of this generation sacrificed at the altar of political correctness, promotion of the Muslim Brotherhood throughout the Middle East, same-sex marriages at West Point, women in combat, interventionism all over the globe without regard to national security interests or even humanitarian reasons.

It’s time to just say no to Obama playing God with our sons and daughters.

He demonstrated he has no commitment even to saving the lives of Americans under threat in Libya. That should be the central purpose of the U.S. military.

He clearly doesn’t recognize the gravest threats to our country – insolvency and global jihad. In fact, he seems to do everything in his power to foster both.

As a parent, would you encourage your children to work for a boss who is corrupt and dangerous?

I wouldn’t. And I won’t.

I’m not afraid to say it. I’m just surprised so few others – Republicans, Christians and conservatives – haven’t come to this conclusion yet or articulated it.

The argument that will be made against this idea is that we can’t afford to destroy the U.S. military for four years because it will be tough to build back up.

I’ll take my chances.

I’m not willing to have Obama shed more innocent blood with military policies that are counterproductive to the interests of the United States for four more years.

With the Middle East about to boil over thanks to his misguided military and diplomatic policies, Obama seems to be more incensed over the building of apartments in Jerusalem than he does with missiles fired on Jerusalem. He seems to be more concerned with Israel’s self-defense efforts than he does with the fact that his handpicked Muslim Brotherhood successor to Hosni Mubarak has just assumed dictatorial authority that made his predecessor look like Mahatma Gandhi by comparison. In fact, his administration seems more concerned with the national security threat posed by America’s returning veterans than he does about the wholesale invasion of the U.S. by illegal aliens.

Why would we provide our sons and daughters to be commanded by such a man – to risk their lives and limbs for his misguided and evil causes?

This is not the U.S. military of our forefathers.

This is Obama’s military.

If he wants to maintain it, let him do so with those who voted for him.”

IRANIANS PREPARE TERROR CAMPAIGN INSIDE U.S.

‘There are numerous Revolutionary Guard cells inside borders’ – Dec 6, 2012 – World Net Daily

“Iran’s Revolutionary Guard is alive and well in the U.S. and the country’s law enforcement officials ignore them at their peril, according to former U. S. Air Force officer Steven O’Hern.

O’Hern says that the Revolutionary Guard, long an influential factor in the radical Islamic regime in Iran, does most of its surveillance and intelligence gathering through its proxy force, Hezbollah, considered by many to be a terror group.

“In the United States, the Revolutionary Guard uses more than one approach. Hezbollah operatives and sympathizers are present in large numbers in many parts of the United States and actively conduct reconnaissance missions that develop information, photographs, and diagrams of federal buildings, and infrastructure targets,” O’Hern said.

“Those targets include such things as water utilities or electrical substations, and other potential targets to give the Guard the ability to quickly order a terrorist strike in our homeland,” O’Hern said.

He explains that the Revolutionary Guard is working through Shi’a mosques around the United States as well as the nation’s Lebanese immigrant communities.

WND previously reported that a former Iranian official who has knowledge of Iran’s terror network estimated there are more than 40,000 of the regime’s security, intelligence and propaganda forces in the West, largely in friendly South American nations.

And WND has reported that Muslims are using mosques, including some in the United States, as terror command centers.

It is the Guards’ intelligence office that runs financing, recruiting and other strategies through Islamic centers and mosques, including some in New York and Ohio.

And as early as several months ago, the Guard threatened to bring its war to the shores of the United States.

O’Hern, who has written “Iran’s Revolutionary Guard,” about the issue, said the primary mission of the Iran Revolutionary Guard and its Hezbollah proxy is to weaken the U. S. national security.

“In the United States, the Revolutionary Guard and Hezbollah have a long-term mission of gathering intelligence on homeland targets and maintaining the capability to deliver multiple terrorist attacks if the IRGC chooses to do so,” O’Hern said. “I say ‘maintain’ because the Guard has already developed it.”

He said attacks could be ordered in retaliation if Iran’s nuclear program is hit, or, “Sleeper cells could even be ordered into action if economic sanctions were so successful that the regime was in danger.”

“Attacks against the U.S. homeland are only one place where the IRGC can strike – it also can attack U.S. troops and facilities in Afghanistan, Africa, Europe, all of which are closer,” O’Hern said.

O’Hern’s findings are affirmed by the analysis of a former Defense Department analyst who has asked not to be named for security reasons. The analyst points to the major Arab-American communities in the major cities, especially in Dearborn, Mich., and the San Francisco Bay area.

“It is my sense that IRGC will rely more on Hezbollah in the U.S. than having their own operatives here. The reason for that is Hezbollah presence is primarily through the concentration of the Arab-American communities, mainly Lebanese, throughout the U.S., such as in Michigan and elsewhere,” the source said.

Former FBI counterterrorism officer and Islam analyst John Guandolo agrees that the Revolutionary Guard has a presence in the United States, and it operates through the major Shi’a communities.

“This is the Iranian government’s military activity in the U.S,” he said.

Guandolo, who established Guandolo and Associates in 2012, says that when it comes to working to undermine non-Muslim countries, Shi’a and Sunni Muslims work together.

“We do know the Sunni and Shi’a groups that are hostile to the United States are working together. In Lebanon, Iraq, and other places we see Hezbollah, by Iran, and Hamas with al-Qaida, working together on the ground,” Guandolo said.

“In the United States, the largest Muslim Brotherhood organization, the Islamic Society of North America, put forth the ISNA Code of Honor which says Sunni Muslims will not challenge other Muslims, the Shi’a, on their Takfiri, their legitimacy,” Guandolo said.

“All Muslims are focused on a similar goal. In other words, the Muslim world is working towards one goal right now and they have written agreements and are working on the ground around the world together,” Guandolo said, “So, yes, Hamas, CAIR works with Hezbollah, which is basically the IRGC.”

The former Defense Department analyst says the Revolutionary Guard operates the same way worldwide.

“That is similar in Africa and Latin America. Like Iran, Hezbollah is mainly Shi’a, although it will have some Sunnis and even some Christian Lebanese who are sympathetic here,” the former Defense Department analyst said.

“There is a major Hezbollah contingent, for example, in Canada. It would be much easier for Iran to work through them and the extensive Lebanese communities throughout the U.S. than to seek to establish a major independent presence,” the Defense Department analyst said.

Still, he said, it’s possible that the IRGC itself may have operational units working in the United States.

“However, I don’t doubt that IRGC may have some operatives here acting as liaison with the Hezbollah elements here. In Lebanon, the IRGC presence is more open with representatives working out of the Iranian embassy in Beirut,” the Defense Department analyst said.

A former CIA station chief agrees, concluding that in the final analysis, Muslims will work together in combating their major enemy, the United States.

“Like al-Qaida in Sunni mosques, any Lebanese Shi’a or Hezbollah member here is a de facto Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps terrorist. Some 20 percent of all mosques in the U.S. are Shi’a, therefore they are de facto representatives of the Revolutionary Guard,” the former CIA station chief said.

O’Hern says that the IRGC and Hezbollah fund their operations through a set of illegal activities.

“Hezbollah harvests large amounts of money from the United States to support its operations – millions of dollars from criminal enterprises such as narcotics trafficking, the sale of counterfeit goods, and financial crimes are sent back to Hezbollah from our country every year,” O’Hern said.

WND reported in September 2011 that IRGC proxy Hezbollah had been suspected of funding operations by raising money through the network of U.S. Shi’a mosques located in cities with large Lebanese immigrant populations.

Former Air Force and State Department security officer Dave Gaubatz says it appears the reason for raising money is to give money to Hezbollah.

The FBI and the IRS were unavailable for comment on this story. Congressional representatives and federal regulatory agencies also contacted about the issue either referred WND to another office or refused comment.”

Sources close to the French Defense Ministry reported Friday, Dec. 7, that a Western-Arab military intervention against the Assad regime is due to begin shortly with the participation of the US, France, Britain, Turkey, Jordan and other anti-Assad Arab nations. Our military sources add that the French aircraft carrier Charles De Gaulle carrying a complement of marines is deployed in the Mediterranean, having joined the USS Eisenhower Carrier Strike Group and at least five British warships which are also carrying a large marine force.

In the second and third weeks of November, British and French naval forces, plus 2,600 special ops combatants from both nations, performed landing-and-capture exercises against fortified locations on the coast and mountains of Albania as practice for potential operations against similar terrain in Syria, where the Alawite Mountains loom over the coastal towns of Latakia and Tartus.

The troops landing there would head for the Alawite Mts. to prevent Assad and his loyal units from retreating to his mountain stronghold and fighting on from there – as he plans to do if he is forced to flee Damascus.

French sources told Le Point magazine that the NATO mission for Syria, including the UK and the US, would be modeled on the Western intervention in Libya in 2011. It would combine an aerial blitz with ground action by special forces for destroying Assad’s chemical weapons stocks, his air force and his air defense systems.”

“US, Turkish, British, Jordanian and French forces are standing ready around Syrian bordersfor the order to go forward still to come from US President Barack Obama. Syrian President Bashar Assad is regrouping his army in defense array in strategic parts of Damascus, while planting mines and bomb traps in abandoned bases. Friday, Nov. 7, the rebels declared both the civilian and military sections of Damascus airport a military target. All planes were warned that by landing there they risked being shot down by the shells or anti-air missiles recently delivered to them by Qatar or booty taken from the Syrian army bases they captured.
Following the rebel warning, the Iranian transports were being rerouted to the Shayrat and Tiyas airbase between the northern Syrian towns of Homs and Palmyra.
This necessitates intense Syrian army effort to keep the roads open for the incoming Iranian supplies to reach the hands of the units fighting in Damascus, Aleppo and Latakia.
3. Syrian engineering units are systematically planting mines and booby-trapping the buildings at the bases from which the army has retreated. Our military sources were told that the quantity of explosives Assad’s troops are leaving in their wake would take years to clear.

4. There has been no letup in the military convoys heading north with missiles, shells and bombs containing chemical arms.
Western intelligence sources say Assad is keeping the convoys moving on the roads for two purposes:
One, as a red warning to the Western and Arab powers preparing to intervene in the Syrian conflict that any attack or attempt to impose a no-fly zone over the country would trigger a chemical offensive.

And two, to confuse his enemies: The poison gas weapons apparently moving openly along Syrian highways may be decoys to conceal the operational chemical warfare units which some Western intelligence watchers suspect are kept hidden until Assad gives them the order to strike.”

Under relevant international law, if the nuclear danger posed by Iran were potentially existential, and also “imminent in point of time,” these Israeli strikes could be appropriately justified as “anticipatory self-defense.” Any such justification, going back to an 1837 case known in jurisprudence as “The Caroline,” would be authoritatively consistent with customary international law.

These binding rules are identified at Article 38 of the Statute of the International Court of Justice. Moreover, this critical consistency could be enlarged by Iran’s ongoing and unhidden disregard for the Genocide Convention (1948), a foundational multilateral treaty that prohibits not only actual crimes against humanity, but also “conspiracy to commit genocide.”

To be sure, because the human and material costs to Israel of any preemption against Iran would now be staggering, this option could only be rational in those cases where intelligence had reliably revealed an impending Iranian nuclear aggression.

In the final analysis, the correct strategic lesson to be drawn from Iron Dome’s technical success, and also from the inherent limitations of all active defenses, is multi-faceted. Above all, Israel must prepare to do everything possible to deter an already-nuclear Iran, even if that country’s core decision-makers were not expected to meet the standard tests of rationality in world politics. Here, even an Iranian leadership that would value certain religious preferences more highly than national survival could still be dissuaded from launching nuclear first-strikes against Israel. This would be accomplished by posing suitable threats to certain principal Iranian religious institutions and infrastructures.

More likely, however, the leaders of a nuclear Iran would remain subject to the usual threats of deterrence, threats based upon presumptions of rationality. With this in mind, Israel’s task will also be to assure these leaders that any Iranian excursions into nuclear violence would unhesitatingly elicit at least parallel forms of nuclear reprisal. In this connection, it would be important to assure the Iranians that (1) Israel’s nuclear weapons were not “merely” counterforce targeted; (2) these nuclear weapons were effectively invulnerable to enemy first-strikes; and (3) these weapons were fully capable of penetrating Iran’s own active defenses.

To succeed with such assurances, Israel would have to take early steps at ending its longstanding posture ofdeliberate nuclear ambiguity, steps designed to begin to take the Israeli bomb out of the so-called “basement.” By implementing very selective and partial moves toward nuclear disclosure, Israel could significantly enhance the credibility of its nuclear deterrence posture. Although counter-intuitive, the reason and rationality of any such implementation would be dictated by the primal need to convince Iran that Israel’s weapons were both available and usable. Ironically, if Iran were to believe that Israel’s nuclear weapons were “too large” or “too destructive,” they might then become less subject to Israeli nuclear deterrence.

All of these essential enhancements of Israeli nuclear deterrence would have to be accompanied by apt forms of cyber-defense or cyber-war. There might also be some residual strategic benefit to Israel in exploring any still-remaining chances for regime change in Tehran. But this path could quickly prove to be a double-edged sword. There would be no assurances that any Iranian successor regime would necessarily turn out to be less Jihadist, or more inclined to peace with Israel. For this successor regime, authentic diplomacy and negotiations could still be anathema.

Israel needs to continue with its impressive progress on diverse active defenses, especially Iron Dome, Arrow, and David’s Sling. Under certain foreseeable circumstances, Israel could sometime be facing simultaneous rocket attacks from both assorted terror groups (Hamas in Gaza and Hezbollah in Lebanon), and belligerent states (Iran). With regard to any contemplated Iranian nuclear strike, Arrow’s main function would not be limited to physical protection of otherwise unprotected Israeli noncombatants. Rather, where it is deployed to protect Israel’s own “hard” nuclear targets, its corollary purpose would be to convince Iran that it can never hope to prevent an unacceptably destructive Israeli nuclear retaliation.

Taken together with improved nuclear deterrence and cyber-defense, Israel’s active defenses represent an utterly indispensable component of the country’s national security doctrine. Considered only by themselves, however, no matter how advanced and technically sophisticated, these defenses can never suffice.”

Preparing Syrian chemical weapons for use

US forces in the region, Israel, Turkey and Jordan were all braced Monday night, Dec. 3 for action against Syria in case Syrian President Bashar Assad ordered his army’s chemical warfare units to go into action against rebel and civilian targets his own country. None of the Middle East capitals are talking openly about this eventuality to avoiding causing panic.
However, oblique references to the peril and preparations for action came from US officials during Monday. White House spokesman Jay Carney said: “We have an increased concern about the possibility of the regime taking the desperate act of using its chemical weapons.” Such a move “would cross a red line for the United States.”

Without going into specifics, Carney added: “We think it is important to prepare for all scenarios. Contingency planning is the responsible thing to do.”
US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in Prague was slightly more specific: Syrian action on chemical weapons remains a “red line” for the Obama administration, she said, and “would prompt action from the United States.”

Regarding contingencies, DEBKAfile’s military sources report that the American force in Jordan and Jordanian units, who have been training for two months in tactics against Syrian chemical warfare units, are on a high state of preparedness. So, too, are the three special US command centers set up in Turkey, Jordan and Israel for coordinating such operations.

An American official “with knowledge of the situation” told Wired Magazine that “engineers working for the Assad regime in Syria have begun combining the two chemical precursors needed to weaponize sarin gas.”

Anchored opposite the Syrian shore is the USS Iwo Jima Amphibious Ready Group with 2,500 Marines. Facing it is the Russian Black Sea Fleet’s naval task force which too has hundreds of marines on its decks.

DEBKAfile’s sources quote high-ranking officers in the Israel Defense Forces’ Northern Command as saying: “The coming hours and days are extremely critical for Syria. The situation on our northern front could blow up any moment.” They did not elaborate.

Later Monday, as the United Nations regional humanitarian coordinator for Syria, Radhouane Nouicer announced the pullout of nonessential international staff “because of the security situation,” Secretary Clinton flew into Brussels from Prague to discuss with NATO foreign ministers the deployment of Patriot anti-missile batteries at 10 points on the Turkish-Syrian border – a massive number.
NATO sources took note of the Syrian Foreign Ministry’s reply to the spreading reports. He said that the government “would not use chemical weapons, if it had them, against its own people under any circumstances.” This statement carried no promise about using such weapons against external forces, whether American, Turkish, Jordanian or Israeli.

In Istanbul, meanwhile, Russian President Vladimir Putin told reporters at the end of his one-day visit: “What we are concerned about is Syria’s future. We don’t want the same mistakes to be repeated in the near future.” He went on to say: “We shall remember how some regimes supported the militants in Libya and how the situation ended with the killing of the American ambassador in Libya.”
This was meant by the Russian president as a warning to the US not to get involved in the Syrian crisis as it did in Libya.”

“As NATO in Brussels gave the go-ahead Tuesday night, Dec. 4, for the deployment of Patriot surface-to-air missiles to protect Turkey against Syrian missiles,DEBKAfile’s military and intelligence sources reported that convoys of the Syrian army’s chemical weapons units headed out of Damascus under cover of dark and turned north up the road to Aleppo. Their destination is not yet known.
The convoys were ferrying self-propelled cannons for firing shells loaded with poisonous sarin gas.
Syrian President Bashar Assad had evidently decided to ignore the warnings President Barack Obama issued Monday night that there would be consequences if he or anyone in Syria resorted to chemical warfare and each would be held accountable.

Our sources report that the Syrian ruler is aparently gambling dangerously on the Americans holding back from attacking the convoys as long as they deploy unconventional weapons, and would only react when they are used.

He is also taking advantage of the heavy winds, rain and cloud over this part of the eastern Mediterranean and counting on the weather to obstruct military operations against his chemical weapons units.

By the time the weather clears some time Thursday, the units will be in place in battle formation. Meanwhile, bombing the convoys in windy weather could cause the deadly gas to spread out of control in unpredictable directions.
In Brussels, a NATO official announced that the alliance had agreed to augment Turkey’s air-defense capabilities by deploying Patriot missiles to Turkey.
DEBKAfile’s military sources report that by the time the missiles arrive, the Syrian chemical weapons units will almost certainly have reached their pre-planned positions. Furthermore, the Patriot air defense systems are not designed to counter artillery and would therefore be unable to stop shells loaded with poison gas.”

‘Obama’s memo on “insider threats”

26 November 2012: “On the day before Thanksgiving, Barack Hussein Obama issued a Presidential Memorandum, or an unofficial directive to the heads of departments and agencies under the executive branch. This Presidential Memorandum, the text of which is only 183 words, directs agency and department heads to establish a program “to deter, detect, and mitigate actions by employees who may represent a threat to national security.”

There is, however, a more important aspect to this memorandum that will be undoubtedly missed by many who report on it. It is reflected by a word that appears toward the end of the directive and should be considered the “key” to understanding the intent and action of Barack Hussein Obama. The word is “centrally,” and when it is considered in the context of Obama’s agenda we’ve seen being implemented over the last four years, it is chilling.Much like all of Obama’s other directives, Executive Orders and findings, there is a disturbing level of ambiguity contained within this memorandum. One could correctly state that the obvious intent of this directive is to stop government employees from leaking classified information that would endanger the safety and security of our nation. While true, there appears to be a deliberate lack of specificity concerning the exact elements that constitute such an “insider threat.”

The key to understanding this memorandum is to understand that we are witnessing the greatest consolidation of power and control under the Executive branch of the government in recent U.S. history. This consolidation of power makes it possible for a select number of highly political “czars” and appointed officials to observe, control and report on the activities of people within their various departments to the Executive branch. This process creates a closed system of surveillance that cannot be easily penetrated by other branches of our government.

Accordingly, it becomes a self-policing network that has the ability to silence critics and individuals opposing a particular agenda or activity, even if such dissent is lawful. Taken to its extreme, it gives Barack Hussein Obama the ability to redefine what constitutes a threat to the government, including treason. It’s no longer about the rule of law and one’s allegiance to the United States. It’s now about allegiance to the agenda of the Executive branch, assured by active surveillance of government employees by Obama’s hand-picked appointees.

This memorandum quietly inserts yet another plank in the framework for absolute control by Barack Hussein Obama. It is he, not laws enacted by congress or the workings of the judicial branch, who will now determine who and what constitutes an “insider threat.” The mechanisms for reporting such threats are now in place, and actual or perceived threats to our government are to be identified and reported on by the very people he appointed to key government positions. It is the very essence of “Big Brother” within the government itself.

Everyone needs to wake up and understand exactly what’s happening not only in the U.S., but across the world. We are witnessing the consolidation of power that historically precedes a war for absolute control.”

“Written by Texas representative Lyle Larson, the Texas Liberty Preservation Act says that “…Texas shall not provide material support or participate in any way with the implementation of Sections 1021 and 1022 of the National Defense Authorization Act of 2012 within the legal boundaries of the state of Texas.”

Incorporated into the NDAA at the demand of Barack Obama, these sections allow the president “…to indefinitely detain, without charge, persons including United States citizens and lawful resident aliens, whether or not they are captured within the confines of the United States.” That is, anyone Barack Obama considers a terror threat to the United States or the American public may–at his sole discretion and direction–be rounded up and incarcerated by members of the U.S. military.

The NDAA not only authorizes this exercise of police powers on American soil by the U.S. military; it allows the president to detain“until the end of hostilities” anyone he believes to have “substantially supported” al Qaeda, the Taliban, or “associated forces.” Those subjected to this arbitrary exercise of presidential power would face an indefinite period of imprisonment with no right of habeas corpus, no right to trial, no right to present proof of innocence, and no method of appeal. It makes for an utter abrogation of constitutional protections.

But State Representative Larson will have none of it as he seeks to shield the people of Texas from a law that Republicans in the U.S. Congress could not wait to pass. “Sections 1021 and 1022 of the National Defense Authorization Act of 2012 are in direct contravention to the limits of federal power as stated in Article 1, Section 8 of the United States Constitution and are in violation of the Texas constitution,” writes Larson in his Act.

The prospective Texas law relies for its authority and legitimacy on the 10^th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. “The Tenth Amendment…provides the United States federal government authorization to exercise only those powers delegated to it in the Constitution (Article 1, Section Eight) and nothing more,” writes Larson. And the NDAA was in no way created according to “…[the] powers delegated to [congress] in the Constitution.”

In April, Virginia passed HB 1160, making it illegal for anyone to accommodate the NDAA in that state. And as of November 19^th, 16 states have refused to permit the creation of ObamaCare exchanges within their borders. With the corrupt, Marxist Obama administration in charge in Washington DC and the weak-kneed Republican Party a thoroughly undependable champion of individual liberty, it will be up to Republican-run state legislatures and non-RINO Governors to halt the progress of the imperial presidency.

The American public must make their voices heard at the state level on every important issue.”
