How could the most vaunted security apparatus in the region have missed the intel about what Hamas was planning? All Is NOT As It Seems!

By Adina Kutnicki

(UPDATE: Lo and behold, a day after yesterday’s analysis, adding fuel to the bullet-proof indictments within – as per the advance warnings given to Israel’s malfeasants: Leaders of Israeli communities near the Gaza border report receiving threats that ‘the coming holidays will be black.’

Channel 12 News has reported that the leaders of communities in southern Israel received WhatsApp notifications over the past several weeks warning of an impending disaster.

According to the report, the messages warned that, “The coming holidays will be black holidays,” and that on Sukkot (the Feast of Tabernacles) the communities around Gaza will be conquered.

The community leaders contacted the IDF and asked if, in light of these threats, the planned festivals and holiday events should be held.

Military sources responded that the events should take place, explaining, “Everything is fine. On the contrary – we are headed towards the area becoming quieter. Money is flowing into Gaza and workers are coming into Israel.”)

FOG OF WAR; ALL IS NOT AS IT SEEMS

[FULL DISCLOSURE: upon urgent consultation with a team of freelance security experts – part of a privately-held Homeland Security entity, Tel-Aviv and Washington based – the following was the main topic. But, as always, a heated discussion ensued. This time, it was re the so-called Intel Failure.” The below are our final conclusions.]

In the midst of the “fog of war”, horrified onlookers become confused, alongside many operating inside the war-zone. It is this natural and reflexive reaction that officialdom’s mischief-makers depend upon.

In this regard, the below bullet points serve as a follow-on, an adjunct thereof, to: SPECIAL DISPATCH: ISRAEL AT WAR; A Bird’s Eye View Analysis, “Operation Swords of Iron.”

With the above in the forefront, it is imperative to connect the overriding dots to the most pressing question/issue at hand:

“How can it be that Islam’s barbarians were open about their war-footing, practically, advertising their jihad, still, Israel’s vaunted Intel Agencies (and the DM, no less) missed all of the cues?”

A military analyst displays a video published by Hamas that shows practicing for the current invasion of Israel weeks before it happened.

As such, despite the personal discomfit, due diligence demands that the ominous dots are laid bare, come what may. It will then be possible to internalize how/why Israel’s widely-acclaimed Security Apparatus “missed all of the cues!

DOT ONE:

  • Brazenly, during months of turmoil re much needed judicial reform, Israel’s hard-left (the top-tier within political and military circles) revealed their menacing plan(s). While there are countless involved, let’s stick to (ex) PM Ehud Barak; a primary ringleader.

As excerpted, and in typical Orwellian double-speak:

“[The protest movement] will not stop. We will block this attempt on the life of Israel as a democracy and we will win this battle,” Barak told the CBS television network. “It might take time, some people might lose their lives along the way. I told the people we will have to face toil and sweat and tears, hopefully no blood, but there might be some violence; [it] always comes from the right-wing.”

Clear as a bell.

DOT TWO:

Indeed, a hard-left, Stalinist guide-post like none other.

DOT THREE:

  • Though Bibi is atop the political helm, all is not as it seems with the squishy-like, right-winger. While he walks the walk, and talks the (tough) talk, a central question/component within the aforementioned recent conference call became: though he needed Otzma Yehudit (the committed right-flank) to form his coalition, how could he leave out MK Ben-Gvir, the Minister of National Security, no less, from a recent strategic, high-level security meeting? Netanyahu said to meet Ben Gvir one-on-one after minister left out of security talks

Could it be that Bibi is more amenable to the leftist opposition than most realize – having taken baby steps towards the plan to oust his coalition’s right-flank, in turn, forming a “unity” government, as demanded by the likes of Barak, with Biden, Inc.-Obama 3.0 in tow?

As oft-stated, Bibi is a flip-flopper and a serial accommodator, that is, dependent upon which way the political winds are blowing. Harsh, but no less true.

It is these primary dots (though there are others to cite) which link-back to the most urgent question; that which dare not be ignored. Besides, all of those who truly care about Israel’s survival – of course, excluding pithy platitudes of concern, clucking noises, if you will, from Israel’s derelict poohbahs, as well as others from abroad – must face.

Again, how/why could Israel’s widely-acclaimed Security Apparatus “miss all of the cues!

Tellingly, Trey Gowdy (and others) is pondering the same: how could this disaster have taken place?

As if the conclusions within couldn’t be any starker, as per what’s what re the grave Intel Failure, a captured Hamas terrorist chimed in and set the record straight:

A Hamas terrorist interrogated by Israel has admitted that the “surprise attack” on Israel which led to the outbreak of the war was planned during the course of over a year.

Speaking on Channel 13 News, analyst Zvi Yehezkeli quoted the terrorist as saying, “We prepared for more than a year. The protests in Israel encouraged us.”

“Five hours passed until they fired at us. We were prepared with 1,000 fighters, we made 15 breaches in the fence. We were shocked that the IDF wasn’t waiting for us.”

The terrorist also noted that there had been plenty of time to intercept at least some of the kidnappings.

“The riots on the fence were a deception,” he told the interrogators. “We led a family on foot, for two hours, into the Strip without being disturbed. The operation surpassed all expectations.”

Imagine that.

It is along this wildly dangerous trajectory that the privately-held Homeland Security experts concluded (in concert with this investigative journalist/analyst):

Israel’s second-to-none eyes-in-the-sky (never mind that the barbarians are smack on the doorstep) picked up the war-footing, but chose to ignore it (as mentioned, their grave dereliction of duty comes atop the in-your-face jihadi planning – A military analyst displays a video published by Hamas that shows practicing for the current invasion of Israel weeks before it happened.

Still yet, why would (some of) Israel’s leaders execute such national treachery? In the main, and in a nutshell: as stated, forging a “unity” coalition is the regime’s (among those who really rule Israel, yes, Israel’s Deep State) primary goal, regardless of how many dead and maimed Jewish bodies pile up!

Ipso facto, if 1 + 1 = 2, what better way to rally the nation – as rivers of Jewish blood, the most deadly in 50 years, flows through Israel’s streets – to come together, cynically, behind a so-called “unity” coalition!?

Alas, as if on cue, and akin to a serpent’s forked tongue, the 4 left-ward parties outside the coalition (aligned with the treasonous ex PM Barak & gang too….beyond chomping at the bit to grab the reins) opined:

“In days like these there is no opposition and no coalition in Israel” albeit, with a caveat: it can’t include the “right-flank“, namely, Ben Gvir and Smotrich! Naturally, both of whom support judicial reform and demand a hard-hand towards Islam’s barbarians!

But not to be remiss, none of the “see no evil, hear no evil” Intel Failures could have taken place, sans Defense Minister Galant; an absolute leftist, clamoring to enact left-ward, pro-Arab policies since Bibi, “inexplicably“, appointed, then fired, then re-appointed, this anti/post Zionist! Beyond the pale.

As neatly encapsulated:

When Defense Minister Yoav Galant called and quickly canceled a press conference on Thursday, in which he likely would have called for an end to his party’s proposed judicial overhaul package, it was a surprising crack in Prime Minister Netanyahu’s cabinet.

What was not surprising was that, if anyone was going to take the first leap, it would be Galant. He is only the latest in a long line of Israeli defense and security establishment figures to associate with the overwhelming number of Israelis opposed to what they call the “regime coup.”

Israel’s right wing has long charged that the leaders of Israel’s army and security services are inveterate left-wingers, constantly working to thwart the policies of Likud-led governments and publicly opposing them once they enter retirement and are free to speak their minds.

Sach ha’kol, at the end of it all: it is impossible to ignore the well-marked dots – that which are the only rational explanations, as to how Israel’s “leading lights”, supposedly, missed MASSIVE jihadi war plans on their doorstep! Folks, this is not rocket science.

SPECIAL DISPATCH: ISRAEL AT WAR; A Bird’s Eye View Analysis – “Operation Swords of Iron”

By Adina Kutnicki

First things first.

“Tzedek, tzedek, tirdof…Justice, justice, shall you pursue.”
צדק צדק תרדוף – Shoftim (Deuteronomy 16:18-21:9)

“He who becomes compassionate to the cruel will ultimately become cruel to the compassionate.” – Midrash Rabba, Ecclesiastes 7:16

Some of the readers may be aware that this investigative journalist lives in Israel. As an American-Israeli, this bird’s eye view lends a unique perspective, that is, sans any pussyfooting around. Full-stop.

In this regard, interested parties are advised to glean reliable updates from Israel National News (Full Disclosure: Since 2005, I have written for this widely-read and highly-respected national and international news publication.)

Live updates – Israel at war: At least 250 killed, dozens kidnapped, over 1,500 injured

Live updates – Israel at war: At least 600 killed, dozens kidnapped, over 2000 injured

Now, in order to really understand what’s what at this most grave juncture in time, it is imperative to link-back (we will get to that….keep reading) to particular interviews and analyses – that which serve as deep backgrounders as to how/why Israel hasn’t attained absolute VICTORY, since the 1973 Yom Kippur War.

Mind you, as per this latest battle, even The New York Times (hardly a font of pro-Israel sentiment) made the connection between the latest [emphasis placed] onslaught and the massive, sneak attack on Israel in 1973. Even so, their analysis will never, ever place the onus straight where it belongs: atop the shoulders of ‘Allah’s Muslim Terrorists’; having imbibed (akin to mother’s milk) the murderous dictates within the Koran, Islam’s ‘holy‘ book!

Consider the (excerpted) facts at hand, as explained in the introduction to BANNED: How Facebook Enables Militant Islamic Jihad, August 2016:

“In ‘polite’ society it is verboten to dissect the underpinnings of the Koran which are derived from the teachings of Muhammad. Inarguably, he was a pedophile, rapist, pilferer, sadist and a clinical psychopath…..

The fundamental problem of Islam is the belief that God talked to Muhammad and dictated the contents of the Koran to him. Muslims are indoctrinated into believing the Koran is God’s word, and so they act on numerous incitements to violence that they find in it……”

Ominously, their first murderous targets are the “Saturday People”, followed up by the “Sunday People.”

As stated, the following interviews and analyses are must reads – then, and only then, will this Sukkot/Simchat Torah massive Islamic jihadi onslaught veer into sharp focus.

DEEP BACKGROUNDERS:

Indeed, the above backgrounders are not for the feint of heart, but they are mandatory for truth-telling. Of course, most will require breaks to catch one’s breath between readings. Sorry about that.

Which brings us back full circle to the latest so-called war; as PM Netanyahu huffed and puffed out his chest. Yes, you read that right.

PM Netanyahu: We will win this war, but we will pay a very heavy price’: Hamas wants to murder us all, we will win this war,’ PM Netanyahu tells Israel’s citizens.

Alas, why aren’t his words reassuring? Could it be that we have heard said ‘war-cries‘ from his lips (and others) for the umpteenth time? Does ‘crying wolf‘ resonate?

Incontestably, if one takes a serious, deliberate, and sober look-back to countless wars waged upon Israel (as mentioned, since 1973), the facts remain the same.

  • Israel’s top-tier political echelon (be they right wing or left wing…it makes no diff) never calls for VICTORY as a goal, rather, offers insipid platitudes. Why is that??
  • As a matter of historical record, each go-around (generally, every 2 years, or so) they devise a catchy name for the latest ‘operation.’ This one is coined: “Operation Swords of Iron!” So, PM Netanyahu could declare that ‘this is war‘ until the cows come home, but the jihadis know better. It is merely another ‘operation‘, that is, among a laundry list of countless others! Btw, while Israel’s delusional leaders can’t internalize that lexicon matters, well, Islam’s warriors realize that they will remain standing. Guaranteed.
  • For proof of the same, take a peek into the last go-around, May 2021, “Operation Guardian of the Walls” – EMERGENCY APPEAL FROM LOD’S JEWISH CITIZENS: The Current Kristalnacht; A Pogrom/Farhood By Israeli Arabs Against Jews….As Hamas/PIJ Shoot Missiles/Rockets Into Civilian Areas – Terrorism At Its Core!
  • Without a scintilla of a doubt, Israeli forces are equipped with enough massive firepower to put an end to the madness – yes, burying Hamas (and all of its appendages, regardless of this or that hydra’s name) in toto, never to rear its murderous tentacles again.

So, in encapsulated form (a full-throated, deep dive would necessitate writing another book) to the aforementioned query: “Why is VICTORY not the stated objective?“, the following answer to the interviewer’s related question (May 16, 2015, eight and a half years ago) is most germane. Imagine that. “Plus ça change, plus c’est la même chose.“ The more things change, the more they stay the same.

WOLFF BACHNER: And speaking of responsible world leaders, why isn’t the Prime Minster of Israel bringing up these serious issues with the nations involved in the peace process and especially with Obama and demanding an end to all military threats to Israel before Israel will negotiate again? Is he trying too hard to appease Obama and the various European talking heads, and by doing so, weakening Israel’s position even further in a peace process that is already an anti-Israeli charade?

ADINA KUTNICKI: It is this lock-step and debasing march which stopped him (during 9 years as PM, from 1996-1999 and 2009 -2015) from declaring victory over Hamas during the 2014 summer-long war, one which blanketed/blitzed the entire country with missile and rocket barrages. More indicting, instead of laying waste, years ago, to Iran’s mushrooming genocidal WMD program, he is still begging President Obama to lead the charge, knowing full well that he has no such intention. Chasing ghosts.

Inherently, he could have taken a page out of (the late) PM Menachem Begin’s playbook, when he defied President Carter and destroyed Iraq’s Osirak reactor. Now, as then, Washington issued threats to “cease and desist”, but one PM ignored said orders, while the other (continuously) caved. Statesmanship, or the lack thereof.

In the main, PM Netanyahu is best described as a “serial accommodator”, comparable to a badly battered wife who just can’t help herself from going back to her abuser, one last time, for more punishment. Now, others may tsk, tsk and opine: well, the POTUS is the big man in the arena, therefore, what can poor “Bibi” do but genuflect? Hogwash.

For the record, PM Menachem Begin didn’t have a problem executing what his mantle required of him; protecting Israel at ALL costs! Similarly, Israel’s first PM, David Ben-Gurion, gave Eisenhower the proverbial finger, when he launched a war in 1956 in concert with Britain and France against an increasingly belligerent Egypt. As always, Washington attempted to stay Israel’s hand. History repeats.

In furtherance to the above charge and indictment, whereas PM Ben-Gurion took on the U.S. when Israel was little more than a military pipsqueak, PM Netanyahu behaves as if Israel is a vassal state. This is the case even though he has at his disposal the most adept forces in the region, let alone technologically advanced. Hence, the question is not one of actual force strength, but one of inner and moral fortitude. Hmm.

At its base, the moment that PM Netanyahu conceded to a PA (terror) state (during his speech at Bar Ilan University in 2009, two and a half months into his tenure…regardless of how he framed it), the fact of the matter is that he gave Israel’s “kosher” stamp of approval to carve a 23 rd Arab state out of the Jewish heartland. This historical injury lands at his doorstep. Agreed, previous PM’s have been equally appeasing and beyond injurious, but the imprimatur for the above became cemented under his watch. No doubt.

Thus, he weakened Israel’s position within (already hostile, pro Arab) international forums, once he gutted the nation’s core standing. Realistically, are others supposed to be “more Catholic than the Pope”, so to speak? Not only that, why should they disagree with Israel’s PM, in effect, after he already conceded (his “reasoning” doesn’t count for a damn) to the “rights” of the so-called Palestinians? Unforgivable.

………

Conclusively, whereas Israel’s troops can be counted on to fight valiantly, it is also a fact that no matter how many Jews are killed and terrorized, Hamas and its offshoots will live to re-group, re-arm, and, unfathomably, come out even stronger, more lethal, and will call the shots for the next round! Rest assured, the leadership will never admit that their decades-long, failed doctrine, namely, “mowing the lawn” and so-called “containment“, has zero place within a normal and rational political-military lexicon.

Most significantly, ask yourselves: since insanity knows no bounds, how can it be that Islam’s barbarians were open about their war-footing, practically, advertising their jihad, still, Israel’s vaunted Intel Agencies (and the DM, no less) missed all of the cues?

A military analyst displays a video published by Hamas that shows practicing for the current invasion of Israel weeks before it happened.

Ominously, what will it take to convince the leaders (held mentally captive to The Oslo Syndrome: Delusions of a People Under Siege) to, finally, enact a volte face!?

AMERICAN DEMOCRAT SENATOR FORGETS ISRAEL IS A SOVEREIGN NATION AND THREATENS THE WORLD’S ONLY JEWISH STATE OVER JUDICIAL REFORM

By Wolff Bachner (Reprinted with permission)

As per usual, another democrat official is making threats against Israel, but this time it is coming from the Senate instead of from “The Squad” in the House of Representatives or the Biden White House.

US Democrat Senator Brian Schatz made his outrageous threat against Israel over the proposed and desperately needed Judicial Reform Bill by saying, “I have never been more alarmed about the future of Israel. Our long-standing relationship is a friendship based on shared values and interests. But if they cease to share our values and our interests, then we’re going to have to reevaluate the relationship.”

Senator, must I remind you that Israel is a sovereign democratic nation with an ancient religious and cultural history? The Jewish people have maintained a continuous population in Israel for over 3200 years, and the majority in Jerusalem since the first official census centuries ago. To all the Israel bashers who scream that Israeli Jews are just European invaders, if you bothered to read an actual history book, you would know that over 50 percent of Israel’s population are direct descendants of Mizrahi Jews, who lived in the Holy Land for hundreds of years before the birth of Islam in 610 CE.

American democrats shout from the mountain tops when defending foreign cultures and nations that support their activist, woke ideology, yet democrats endlessly refuse to allow Israelis and the Jewish people the same rights and privileges, especially when it comes to Israel’s substantial religious community. Faith in G*D is despised by the left and many democrats.

While Israel has some shared values with the United States, there are important cultural differences. The two nations have similar political systems, but Israelis are not like Americans nor should they be like Americans. They should be proud Israelis, who support Zionism and understand that belief in G*D and the Torah are an essential part of the Jewish state

When it comes to shared interests between the United States and Israel, as far as the majority of American politicians are concerned, Israel is subservient to American policy while providing the US with the world’s best military intelligence and anti-terrorism information.

Israel’s other role has always been to test American military equipment in combat whenever Israel is attacked by her Islamist enemies and spend US foreign aid on US-made weapons, as required by US law. America is only America’s friend, and often, the enemy of free-thinking people everywhere under the Biden kleptocracy.

Now, as per an analysis featured at Israel National News (March 11, 2023) on Israeli Judicial Reform via our uninformed, interventionist Senator Schatz (the name fits, doesn’t it?).

Sadly, the Democratic Senator lacks the information (or intellect?) to understand that in the United States, Congress and the Executive Branch decide who will sit on the Supreme Court. In America, judges don’t appoint other judges to any court.

In Israel, Supreme Court Justices are appointed by a committee that includes three current Supreme Court Justices and two members of the Israeli Bar Association. The democratically-elected Knesset does not vote on Supreme Court Justices, and Israel’s leader, the Prime Minister, does not nominate them. Making matters even worse, Justices on Israel’s Supreme court can not be impeached by the elected government.

Judicial Reform will mean that Israel will have a court system that is similar to the one in the United States, in which Supreme Court Justices are nominated by the President and voted on by the Senate. Israel’s Prime Minister would nominate the Justice and the Knesset would vote for or against the nominee.

Frankly, it would help if Israel had an actual Constitution. Until Israel’s leaders finally wake up and pass a constitution, Israel will have to rely on the legal interpretation of the Basic Law, but if Judicial Reform is passed, at least the elected leaders will decide who sits on the Supreme Court of Israel.

So, why is there so much agitation over Judicial Reform? Despite all the threats of violence and massive disruptions of daily life the left is causing in Israel over Judicial Reform, Israeli democracy is not in danger. The left simply refuses to accept they lost the last election.

The previous government was soundly voted out after years of failure, and they are using Judicial Reform as an excuse to overthrow the Netanyahu government. The Israeli left has taken their rhetoric and threats of violence to the level of treason against the state of Israel, including telling Israeli Defense Forces pilots not to report for duty.

Judicial Reform is absolutely necessary. Israel’s Supreme Court Justices have ruled like Kings and Queens, and the left has abused its power and mismanaged the Jewish state for far too long. It is time for a change, and Judicial Reform is the path to a brighter, more democratic future for Israel.

One final thought: by extrapolation, why are America’s so called “leading lights” becoming hysterical and apoplectic over Israel’s Supreme Court evolving into a truly democratic institution? It is the answer to this core question which uncovers and underpins what is really going on.

TERROR ALERT: Preparing for escalation: Terrorist groups call urgent meeting following thwarted attack

By Adina Kutnicki

THOSE of us who are properly schooled in Islamic terrorism have no doubt that the war being waged against Israel/Jews (and the west in general) is underpinned by a hybrid, that is, Koranic-based texts, backed-up by political Islam.

BUT for a scholarly understanding of the aforementioned war-mongering, look no further than to “Islam & Blood.” It spells out all of the gory, devastating truths re Islam’s basis, sans any PC sanitation and Allah-washing.

IN a nutshell, it is a centuries-long war to the death — until every last Jew is gone from the face of the earth. In no small measure, this is precisely why the Mufti of Jerusalem partnered with Hitler to exterminate the Jews. A natural collaboration made in hell. Crystal clear.

(al-Hajj Amin al-Husseini visits the Trebbin concentration camp, 1942KEDEM AUCTION HOUSE)Kedem Auction House

AND this is precisely why the concept of ‘peace’ with Islamic terror hydras (Sunni or Shia) is akin to agreeing to the eventual demise — at the time and place of their choosing — of Israel and countless Jews.

AS such, pre-emption, a/k/a anticipatory self defense, is not only legitimate under international law, but a mandatory obligation of the leaders.

PREDICTABLY, just as the sun rises and sets, whenever Israel’s security forces thwart an impending attack, jackals from within and outside its borders can be depended upon to scream bloody murder — not directed towards those who planned the attack, but against those who pre-empted the bloodshed. Evil.

IN any case, let’s give a massive kudos to all who risked their lives and limbs to defend the nation. May G-d bless, and protect, Israel’s valiant security arms!!

After major attack is averted, Islamic Jihad warns: “All options are open.”

Senior officials within the security establishment are warning that Israel must now prepare for a “significant escalation” in the wake of Thursday’s counterterrorism operation in Jenin which foiled what is being described as a “major terrorist attack” in the making, Channel 12 News reports.

Following the operation, an “urgent meeting” was called by the terrorist groups operating in Gaza. Islamic Jihad, to which the eight eliminated terrorists belonged, has announced that Israel bears responsibility for the attack in the Jenin camp and that if Israeli attacks on Jenin do not cease, “all options are open.”

Meanwhile, PA Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh has called on the international community to intervene. “We are calling on the United Nations and to all human rights organizations to intervene as an urgent matter in order to provide defense to our people and to stop the bloodshed that our children, young people, and women are experiencing,” he said.

As noted, earlier on Thursday, security forces arrived in Jenin for a critical operation designed to arrest terrorists believed to be about to perpetrate a major terrorist attack.

According to Palestinian-Arab media sources, Israeli security forces arrived disguised as Arabs hidden on a milk truck. Once their presence was detected, shooting broke out and according to at least one account, eight terrorists were eliminated.

The operation was designed and led by ISA (Shabak) operatives acting on advanced intelligence warnings. They were joined by IDF special forces and riot police.

During the exchange of fire, calls went out from Jenin’s mosques ordering Arabs to come to the aid of the terrorists. Schools were told to remain closed for the duration.

Yair Lapid, Authoritarian and Unafraid

By Adina Kutnicki

Is Authoritarianism Capturing The Political Narrative?

ONCE again, Caroline Glick hits the nail on the head. It is no wonder that she is considered a leading political analyst/geo-strategist within many well-informed quarters.

IT is alongside this dangerous trajectory that the below was written on the cusp of “two fateful elections.” As such, ominous warnings are contained within.

INCONTESTABLY, just as the Biden regime (for all intents and purposes, a cartel) screeches that all those who oppose their totalitarian ways are, in fact, terrorists and in opposition to democracy, similarly, Lapid and his leftist hench-people do the same! Yes, birds of an anti-democratic feather.

Hmm……

ALAS, consider the following as a mandatory adjunct to what is at stake, lying-in-wait, for the free world. Shiver the west timbers.

♦  ♦  ♦  ♦  ♦

ISRAEL NATIONAL NEWS | By Caroline Glick | October 21, 2022

Lapid’s behavior since taking over the caretaker government shows that if he forms the next government, the foundations of Israel’s democratic system and the basic freedoms of a free society including freedom of the press, will be imperiled.

(JNS) Back in 2019, Caretaker Prime Minister Yair Lapid infamously accused his opponent, then-prime minister and current opposition leader Benjamin Netanyahu, of dictatorial tendencies and contempt for democracy. Speaking at an anti-Netanyahu demonstration, Lapid said, “Listen Bibi!…We won’t let you be Erdogan. There will be no Turkish dictator here…We won’t let you destroy the country. This is our country. You’re not above the law. We won’t let you be a dictator.”

Like everyone, Netanyahu has his flaws. But throughout his long years in office, he never demonstrated any dictatorial tendencies. To the contrary, Netanyahu earned the fury of many in his political camp by repeatedly bringing leftist parties into his governing coalitions.

Absurd in their own right, Lapid’s noxious bids to demonize Netanyahu as a tyrant are downright laughable when viewed in the context of Lapid’s behavior since he took over as caretaker prime minister when the government he formed with Naftali Bennett lost a confidence vote in the Knesset four months ago and new elections were called.

Indeed, when considered in the context of Lapid’s now four-month-old premiership, his castigation of Netanyahu read like an exercise in psychological projection. Lapid, who stands at the helm of a transition government without a mandate from the people, is more contemptuous of democratic norms and institutions than any Israeli prime minister in public memory.

Maybe we should have seen it coming. Lapid’s demonization of Netanyahu is just one example of Lapid’s standard practice of vilifying and delegitimizing his political opponents and their voters. Lapid referred to Likud voters as “s***s” in a television interview. He insists that Israelis who vote for parties in the right/religious bloc are motivated by “dark forces,” and a “poison machine.”

Like his late father, former Justice Minister and Israel’s long-time resident Archie Bunker Tommy Lapid, the caretaker premier invented himself in politics as a liberal, champion of free markets on the one hand and an anti-religious, and anti-Mizrachi bigot on the other hand.

All the same, the contempt for democracy that Lapid has exhibited by word and deed since seizing the reins of power in June has been shocking, and alarming. Two actions stand out.

First, on Sept. 28, Lapid and his Yesh Atid party petitioned the Central Elections Commission (CEC) asking that it label Israel’s only non-leftist aligned television station Channel 14, a propaganda outlet. (Full disclosure, the author is Channel 14’s diplomatic commentator.)

Channel 14 launched on the open airwaves last December. It models itself after Fox News. Its programming schedule is comprised of all-day news programs followed by primetime news/opinion shows. “The Patriots,” Channel 14’s highest-rated flagship show, broadcasts five nights a week and bills itself as satirical.

In his petition, Lapid did not claim that Channel 14 serves as a campaign outlet for Likud. Rather, he insisted that Channel 14 is an election propaganda organ because it doesn’t provide him with supportive coverage.

Lapid’s petition was an existential threat to the struggling new channel. Channel 14 is already starved of advertising revenue. Israel’s advertising industry is effectively a cartel controlled by a handful of ad agencies owned by leftists. They have refused to permit their clients to advertise on the station despite its quickly growing ratings. Just as bad, the government, Israel’s largest advertiser, refused to broadcast ads on Channel 14 for its first three months of broadcasts. It took intervention by opposition lawmakers, and proof that Channel 14’s ratings had skyrocketed to convince the government ad office to stop discriminating against it.

Last week the CEC rejected Lapid’s petition. But had it been accepted, Channel 14 would have been barred from running any commercials at all until after the elections. And that’s not the least of it. Had the CEC accepted Lapid’s petition, Channel 14 would have lost its broadcast license altogether because running propaganda is prohibited under its licensing terms.

In other words, Lapid tried to use the CEC as a means to shut down the only broadcast outlet in Israel that doesn’t support him, or to use Lapid’s parlance, that doesn’t propagandize on his behalf.

The CEC’s rejection of Lapid’s petition is not the end of the story. Whereas Israel’s broadcast authority law stipulates that Israel’s Second Broadcast Authority, which regulates commercial broadcasts is an independent authority free of political control or influence, Walla News reported that Lapid instructed the Second Broadcast Authority to comb through Channel 14’s broadcasts to find instances where it may have breached the terms of its license. The report, which no one denied, indicates that Lapid is operating in contravention of law to pave the way for the future revocation of the opposition station’s broadcasting license.

Moreover, Lapid has gone out of his way to discriminate against Channel 14 in areas under his full control. Neither he nor any members of his party have agreed to be interviewed by Channel 14 reporters. Last week when Lapid held a press conference to defend his maritime agreement with Hezbollah-controlled Lebanon, the Prime Minister’s Bureau barred Channel 14’s reporter from covering the event by holding up the channel’s cameraman for hours at the security checkpoint.

Lapid’s apparent effort to ban a non-supportive media outlet from covering his press conference was not the only way he demonstrated his contempt for democracy at the press conference. Far from it. Lapid presented the deal to approved reporters as a “great achievement.” But the opposite appears to be the case. In the face of Hezbollah’s threat to blow up Israel’s Karish gas platform, Lapid conceded control over Israel’s territorial waters, its sovereign rights to natural resources, including natural gas located in its economic waters, and its economic right to develop natural gas deposits in its economic and sovereign waters to Hezbollah-controlled Lebanon. And in exchange, Israel received precisely nothing.

Under Israel’s constitutional law Basic Law – Referendums, to come into force all international agreements that involve the concession of sovereign territory require the approval of two-thirds of the Knesset or must pass in a public referendum. Since Lapid’s deal involves the concession of Israel’s territorial waters, under both the spirit and letter of the law, Lapid is supposed to submit the deal to the Knesset for two-thirds approval. In the event, Lapid tried to avoid even presenting the agreement to the Knesset for review. Although Attorney General Gali Miara Baharav issued an opinion that the agreement doesn’t need to be considered under the Basic Law – Referendums (for reasons that aren’t
clear), she still insisted that the Knesset must approve the deal by a simple majority.

Lapid, for his part, doesn’t care what his attorney general thinks or what the law says. In response to a reporter’s question at the press conference, Lapid explained how he justifies his decision to act in clear contempt of the law and his attorney general and suffice with government approval of his radical deal with Hezbollah’s stand-in government in Beirut.

As he put it, “In light of the opposition’s unrestrained behavior, we have decided not to bring the agreement before the Knesset for a vote.”

That is, given that his political opponents oppose a gas deal that cedes Israeli territory and natural resources to its sworn enemy, under the gun, and just weeks before a national election, Lapid has decided that the Knesset is unworthy of the honor of approving his deal.

Several commentators have noted that Lapid’s statement demonstrated a contempt for his opposition. But the real problem with his statement, and the sentiment it expressed, is that it demonstrated an utter contempt for the most basic institution in Israel’s parliamentary democracy—the parliament, and for democratic norms.

Probably the worst thing about Lapid’s anti-democratic behavior is that his supportive press is letting him get away with it. While the CEC made Yesh Atid pay Channel 14’s legal costs, it didn’t require Lapid’s party to reimburse the television station for the fortune it paid to run a public campaign against Lapid’s efforts to shutter it. Channel 14 felt compelled to launch its campaign because for the most part, it received no support from its counterparts in the progressive, Lapid-supporting media. Israel Hayom, which changed its editorial line to support the Bennett-Lapid government was the only newspaper to express opposition to Lapid’s campaign against Channel 14. And it did it in a house ad, on page 20 of the paper. With the exception of two or three journalists on the right that broadcast for the other stations, Channel 14’s competitors either said nothing, or expressed support for Lapid’s effort to shut it down.

As for the deal with Hezbollah-controlled Lebanon, most of the media coverage has played down Lapid’s apparent breach of a Basic Law to ram his deal through on the eve of elections. Opposition to the deal has been painted in partisan colors, effecting the sense that the controversy over an agreement which requires Israel to make massive concessions in response to Hezbollah threats is nothing but electioneering.

It is impossible to know how the elections will pan out. There are always last-minute surprises. Netanyahu’s right-wing bloc is consistently polling between 59-62 seats, which makes it far from certain that Netanyahu will be able to form a coalition without making a deal with members of Lapid’s left-Arab bloc. But Lapid’s behavior since taking over the caretaker government makes one thing clear. If he forms the next government, the foundations of Israel’s democratic system and the basic freedoms that citizens of a free society expect, including freedom of the press and representative government, will be imperiled.

Trump Criticizes US Jews: They Don’t Appreciate Enough What I did For Israel…Ain’t That the Truth!

Donald Trump

By Adina Kutnicki

INDEED, aside from (a majority of) Orthodox Jews in America, the rest are as removed from Israel as can possibly be. Hostile, too.

FOR the most part, they have been poisoned by radical left Demsters, to which they are wedded — who harbor pure hatred for Israel and, paradoxically, Jews. Coupled with this poison, the two outlier streams of Judaism, reform and so-called conservative, are as far removed from Judaism as pigs are to their sh*t. No kidding.

IN reality, the two factions emphasize “social justice”, above all else! Yes, it is the new “religion” of their tribe. Insanity rules their mentally-besieged thinking. They have become brainwashed, believing that they are “repairing the world”, a/k/a “tikkun olam“, even as they bastardize the aforementioned authentic Jewish dictum.

IN any event, the above (and so much more) demonstrates that even many smart Jews are as dumb as bricks, inexorably, when it comes to what is in their best interests. For if Israel is no longer viable (Mossad chief Barnea calls emerging nuclear accord a “strategic disaster” with Iran just weeks from breakout), most acutely, as a true sanctuary for Jews worldwide, as evidenced under President Trump’s stewardship, well,

BTW,

Former US President calls on US Jews “to get their act together before it is too late.”

Former US President Donald Trump on Sunday published a post in his Truth Social app in which he argued that American Jews do not appreciate what he has done for Israel.

“No President has done more for Israel than I have. Somewhat surprisingly, however, our wonderful Evangelicals are far more appreciative of this than the people of the Jewish faith, especially those living in the U.S.,” he wrote.

“Those living in Israel, though, are a different story – Highest approval rating in the World, could easily be P.M.! U.S. Jews have to get their act together and appreciate what they have in Israel – Before it is too late!” added Trump.

This is not the first time that Trump has criticized US Jews. Last December, in an interview with Israeli journalist Barak Ravid, the former President said that “Jewish people in the United States either don’t like Israel or don’t care about Israel.”

“There’s people in this country that are Jewish who no longer love Israel. I’ll tell you the Evangelical Christians love Israel more than the Jews in this country,” Trump said.

“It used to be that Israel had absolute power over Congress. And today I think it’s the exact opposite,” said Trump. “I think Obama and Biden did that. And yet in the election, they still get a lot of votes from Jewish people, which tells you that the Jewish people, and I’ve said this for a long time – the Jewish people in the United States either don’t like Israel or don’t care about Israel.”

In an interview with Ami Magazine last June, Trump expressed his disappointment with the response of American Jewry to policies he spearheaded as President, policies widely regarded as extremely beneficial to Israel.

“I did the Heights, I did Jerusalem, and I did Iran … I believe we got 25% of the Jewish vote, and it doesn’t make sense,” Trump said. “It just seems strange to me.”

Trump suggested, later in the same interview, that this was because, “Jewish people who live in the United States don’t love Israel enough.” “Does that make sense to you?,” he asked.

He also noted that, “I’m not talking about Orthodox Jews” – and indeed, the increasing support for the Republican Party among the US Orthodox population has long been noted. Among non-Orthodox and non-affiliated Jews, however, support for the Democratic Party remains strong.

Saving Democracy in Israel

By Adina Kutnicki

AKIN to (evil) twins separated at birth, the radical left in the U.S. and Israel know no bounds. They are above the law. Unaccountable.

LIKE banshees, both shriek about “saving democracy”, meanwhile, said radicals subvert democratic norms by trampling across the elected legislative process. In fact, crooked/China/dementia Joe clearly exhibited the aforementioned with his bizarre rant, and insane attack on half of the population, Sept. 1, 2002. Meanwhile, he was flanked by a Satan-like backdrop. Chilling.

AS per their Supreme Court comrades in Israel, well, mirror images spring to mind — more than self-anointed. Transparency, what the hell is that? Self-selected, more than foxes-in-the-hen-house!

NOW, none of the aforementioned is new under the sun. It is pernicious, endemic, and entrenched for many decades. As analyzed November 2016,

CASE CLOSED? NOT SO FAST!

ISRAEL NATIONAL NEWS | By Dr. Mordechai Nisan | September 5, 2022

The Israeli High Court did not charge into the political arena in order to save the people from a tyrannical government. It did not flagrantly intervene because human liberties were threatened. No despotic leader canceled general elections, thereby demanding some special judicial response. In short, the explanation is simple: the justices were intent to set the national agenda in Israeli society.

The court demonstrated moral arrogance, intellectual haughtiness, and ideological partisanship. Its leading lights acted like a smug elite, enlightened in its own eyes, without inherent responsibility for the country and accountability to anyone, arrogating power without possessing authority.

Based on a 1992 Knesset law in defense of human dignity and liberty, the High Court then in its name trampled on the dignity and liberty of the people.

The great struggle in political history between the Crown and the Commons in British history was ultimately resolved with the primacy of Parliament over the executive power. In Israel, the clash takes on a different character. The idea that appointed judges/justices be the final arbiter in national affairs is politically heinous. It signifies a subversion of the people’s rights and their democratic choices. It is a humiliation to the legitimate government.

That the parliament – Israel’s Knesset – willingly or blindly ceded its power and primacy is a historic deviance in the annals of politics. There was no constitutional foundation for doing so. It represents an abandonment of liberty whose locus is the popularly elected legislature.

This is in fact what happened in 1992, when a law handed the court the possibility to overturn legislation and executive decisions in the name of human dignity and liberty. Now that Israel has witnessed the crushing of the people’s will – which is the core of the democratic covenant – it now remains for their representatives to conduct a corrective revolution, peaceful but firm.

No logic or morality justifies a situation where fifteen appointees to the court exercise power that more than four and a half million Israeli voters and 120 Members of Knesset do not possess. This political perversion is intolerable. That the Knesset passes laws and the government makes policy is a political norm; only some gross and evidential breach of laws or an immediate danger to the national interest can tolerate judicial intrusion in the politics and laws of the country.

When court intervention would be justifiable, as in denying evidence obtained through torture investigative methods against non-threatening suspects, it has chosen to keep silent. In contrast, the judges sitting as a Bagatz appeal tribunal repeatedly usurped power from the responsible executive and legislative branches of government on many crucial issues of the utmost national importance – dealing with Palestinian terrorists, African infiltrators, Jewish settlements, religious controversies, social rifts, military decisions, and army enlistment. The court took a side and neutralized the organs of government.

Abstract principles and formal rights often replace broader and otherwise substantive considerations in the halls of justice. Israel founded on a national vision resting upon history and tradition is not an amorphous mixture of peoples, but the political expression of the Jewish people in their homeland.

Divorced from this composite understanding of Israel’s raison d’être, formalistic-legalistic criteria of justice lose their moral moorings. Moreover, the leftist hegemonic bias of the court on highly controversial matters, while detached from the values and concerns of the majority of the Israeli people, further damages the credibility and legitimacy of court rulings.

The Israeli process for choosing the court is not a public or televised event. It is virtually secretive in character, behind closed doors, no monitoring, overview, or review undertaken. This is rather astounding in a political era promoting transparency and visibility. A nine-member Judicial Selection Committee, three members of which are justices on the court, fills vacancies and chooses the 15-member Supreme Court. Shades of cooptation and an air of furtive collaboration sours the political atmosphere and proceedings.

The time is long in coming to launch a thorough reform of the judicial system and the mechanics of its composition. Returning power to the people and rescuing the country’s democracy are themes of urgency to resolve a contentious failing in the politics and government of Israel.

The upcoming November 1 elections will hopefully lead to the change many Israelis desire.

Israel, Palestinian Jihad dig in for prolonged combat. Tel Aviv targeted.

By Adina Kutnicki

WHEREAS an analytic report is in the making re the latest go-around between Israel’s mighty IDF and the barbarians at the gates, this much is for sure: But for the fact that Israel’s delusional/feckless leaders, year after year, refuse to bury assorted jihadi overlords, there would be quiet on the Gazan front! Mind you, Israel’s second to none “eyes in the sky” know precisely where they are hiding (and even when they are farting), still, they live to plot ongoing terror, that is, at the time and place of their choosing! How can this be??

IPSO facto, since they always know where to find them for righteous targeted elimination, well, it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to calculate that it is they, not the all-mighty IDF, who  set the agenda, as per one onslaught after another!

AND another thing: Forget about the pictures of massive rubble in Gaza …. it is akin to water off a duck’s back. Incontestably, they understand that the destruction is an intrinsic visual aid. As such, the media front — the dual side of any war-fighting campaign — will come down in their favor. Hmm.

MADNESS. שִׁגָעוֹן.

DEBKAFILE MILITARY INTELLIGENCE | August 6, 2022

Both sides were digging in for a drawn-out conflict on Saturday, Aug. 6, Day Two of the IDF’s counter terror Operation Sunrise against the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ). “We have not yet used our long-range rockets,” said the jihadists after shooting 200 missiles. The Iron Dome defense system scored 95pc interceptions, conspicuously exhibiting major upgrades in its performance. Up until Saturday evening, the Palestinian rocket barrages missed their mark, except for damage to a house in Sderot, whose occupants stayed safe in their shelter.

Saturday evening saw the first rocket barrage against Tel Aviv. Although the IDF marked out a 80km radius safety zone from the Gaza Strip, including Tel Aviv, Jerusalem and the towns in between, the PIJ mostly refrained from aiming rockets at central Israel. However, a spokesman for the terrorist group warned that its long-range rockets were still unused. While refraining from an explicit threat to wield them, he indicated that there was more fighting to come.

The same message came from Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Aviv Kochavi on Saturday morning, when he forecast that the operation would last “a week at least” after the IDF called up 25,000 reservists. A wave of detentions of their top operatives on the West Bank preceded Operation Sunrise and continued Saturday with another 19 arrests, including the high-profile Najah Habayba, a former Israeli jail inmate.

The ultimate objective of the IDF operation is not yet clear. Caretaker Prime Minister Yair Lapid will no doubt be taxed with this question when he briefs the opposition leader, former PM Binyamin Netanyahu, on Sunday. Will the military be satisfied with breaking the back of the PIJ’s military strength in the Gaza Strip and West Bank, thereby amputating one of Tehran’s primary terrorist arm against Israel before calling it a day? Or will the group’s core be left crippled but alive when the operation ends?

Defense Minister Benny Gantz warned that the conflict would not be confined to the Gaza Strip but also reach Jihadist leaders “who sit in restaurants” in Tehran, Syria and Lebanon.

For now, Hamas has stayed outside the confrontation. Egypt’s diplomatic efforts to negotiate a ceasefire were rebuffed by Jihad, whose leader, Ziyad Nahla on Saturday sat down in Tehran with the commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, Hossein Salami. Iranian Arabic language media reported that the two discussed “Israel’s aggression in the Gaza Strip” and ways of “fortifying Palestinian resistance.”

Nahla told reporters: “Our resistance will go on alongside other groups. We are capable of a delivering a fitting response to any blow.” Salami was quoted by Iranian TV as saying, ‘Israel will pay a heavy price for its aggression in Gaza.”

Weep For Our Jewish Daughters … Lunatics Running the Asylum: The Insanity of Israel’s Delusional Leaders!

ISRAEL NATIONAL NEWS | By Shalom Pollack

Prison

(Gilboa Prison)

No one imagined in their worst nightmares that benefits granted imprisoned terrorists by wardens included female soldiers.

And we thought it couldn’t get any worse.

Turns out that, allegedly, the warden of Israel’s largest high security prison, with the knowledge and cooperation of his staff, pimped young female Jewish soldiers to prominent Jew-killing terrorists in Gilboa prison.

It is common knowledge that terrorist prisoners receive undeserved benefits including gourmet meals, entertainment, and academic studies, but no one ever imagined in their worst nightmares that it included having their way with Jewish girls sent by their superiors.

It was from this highest security prison that six terrorists escaped a few months ago.

How can this happen? It’s a process.

Apparently this shocking alleged state of affairs has been going on for a while, but just recently surfaced.

No doubt, years ago, (let’s say it – before Oslo) it would not have entered the realm of possibility. There was a time when Israeli meant Jew. Israel meant the Jewish State.

Right was not wrong.

A terrorist is a despicable enemy of the Jewish people and should be treated as such. A Jewish woman is a sister and daughter and must be loved and protected and not offered to the devil. And no one mentions how the Chief Rabbinate fought a losing fight to exempt all girls from IDF service for reasons of modesty -but no one imagined to what degree.

So, what happened?

Basically, the “progressive” forces wooed many Jews away from our national, religious and basic human ethical moorings.

Without roots everything goes.

Powerful forces insist there can be no definition of right or wrong, good or bad, no difference between criminal and victim, between a people defending themselves and those who try to annihilate them.

No difference between a man and a woman.

In this atmosphere, “serious” goals like professional promotions as reward for managing a “quiet” jail are what counts.

As it happens, the head warden of the jail is an Arab. Yes, aren’t we all Israelis. Jews, Arabs – no difference. It’s just a job. If the Jews don’t respect or believe in themselves, why should he? Do you think he would dare pimp a young Arab woman?

The victims of alleged sexual abuse and repeated rape describe how the chief terrorist basically ran the jail. There was full cooperation and excellent relations between him and the warden and staff.

Quiet was the goal and probably more than just quiet The warden and staff didn’t want problems. They provided the Jew killers with favors and entitlements that eventually included Jewish girls.

Post Oslo Accords leftist Israel has succumbed to the enemy’s narrative; that we are ‘occupying” their land. Israel has shown that we are willing to pay the greatest price that any people can pay – its sense of justice – to those bent on our destruction. Israel gave away its land for a “deal” with the proper owners – who the left sees as the real “natives.”

And even that temporary quiet came with a price.

Meanwhile, policemen became social workers when dealing with “occupied” Arabs, but remained stringent law enforcers towards Jews.

In the last election the anti-Israel Muslim Brotherhood party was invited to be the deciding factor in the government of Israel.

These lines were crossed and if they are crossed once again after the elections, every Arab, terrorist or not – in or out of jail – will know it is just a matter of time. And patience.

Victory will be theirs. The Jews will have lost their famous pride and courage – their sense of justice. No atom bomb can prevent that.

The entire IDF has not and actually cannot deter an Arab terrorist from raping a Jewish prison guard – if it occurs with the cooperation of the no roots, no honor Jews themselves.

When the tribe of Benjamin supported their fellow tribesmen who raped and killed a woman from another tribe. all of the other tribe of Israel went to war to erase the immorality that stained the Nation. That terrible story is recounted in the Book of Judges to be a lesson to us about Jewish pride and standards.

War was the only answer then.

When the Jewish people were about to enter the Land with Moses, the Canaanites captured a lowly Jewish maid servant.

Moses ordered the annihilation of those who dared dishonor a Jewish girl.

War was the only answer then too.

It’s time to go to war – for our nation and our land. A war for Jewish values, Jewish pride and a land with the Jewish mores for which we prayed for two thousand years.

(Israel’s) Bereaved families return offensive gifts to Defense Minister’s house … A wolf in sheep’s clothing

returning the clocks

By Adina Kutnicki

MANY find it hard to believe — let alone, to digest — that Benny Gantz, Israel’s Defense Minister, is more in sync with the “sensitivities” and strategic interests of the increasingly hostile Arab minority, incontestably, at the expense of the Jewish majority. Never mind his pithy comments otherwise. Lies and more lies.

AT this end, in general, it is par for the course for the political echelon (many of whom hail from top military positions and turn left-ward for political gain, that is, to curry favor with well-funded foreign NGO’s seeking to overturn Israel’s Jewish national roots) to degrade Jewish interests through incremental changes. Step-by-step.

INDEED, The Paradox of Israeli Politics: Vote Right, Get Left tells the (insidious) tale. Mind you, all of which is in direct violation of title to the historical, biblical, and legal  homeland of the Jewish people.

AS per Gantz’s betrayals, well, they are many. But to demonstrate the incredible depth of his reckless and injudicious conduct, well,

EFFECTIVELY, the man in charge of the overall defense of Israel didn’t even bother to properly oversee his underlings (the Shin Bet) — when conducting a deep-dive vetting! Surely, anyone with access to his personal residence should be subjected to a colonoscopy-like background check. Incontestably, the buck stops with him! Truth dare be told, he shouldn’t even be trusted to watch over cats and dogs.

IN this regard, it makes total “sense” that a more than lax security-conscious DM would be amoral, too — and on Memorial Day, no less! Hang on ….

ISRAEL NATIONAL NEWS | May 4, 2022

Representatives of bereaved families arrived Tuesday afternoon at the home of Defense Minister Benny Gantz and piled the annual gift they received from the Ministry of Defense’s Family Division ahead of Israel’s Memorial Day outside his house.

The representatives said the families are angry that the clocks they received as a gift are decorated with non-Jewish and non-national symbols.

According to the hurting families, they are shocked that the clock does not have a Star of David, a seven-branched candelabra, an Israeli flag or an IDF emblem. On the other hand, the Dome of the Rock Mosque and the At-Tur Church on the Mount of Olives appear on the clock. Also, the Islamist crescent appears 13 times along with the Christian symbol – the five-pointed star.

Along with the return of the gift, they attached a huge protest sign that read “We are in pain over the harm to the honor of the fallen and the honor of Jerusalem.”

Our enemies keep their focus … The LIES our leaders tell us + Who is REALLY running the show!

ONE can spend all day, more pointedly, until the cows come home, and never be done cataloging the lies that the Bennett regime tells the majority-held citizens of Israel, a/k/a the right-wing. Truth dare be told, they spin more tall-tales than a stadium full of Pinocchio-like characters. In fact, there is little difference between their spinning and that of the Biden regime — and that’s a high threshold to cross! No kidding.

IN this regard, a sampling of the laundry list re the aforementioned within Israel can be found below. Keep in mind, it is hardly exhaustive.

THE PROOFS:

MOST perniciously, in answer to the query: who is REALLY running the show, the following illegal putsch by the enemy within removes the mask completely. Yes, and via electricity hook-ups, no less. Not to mention, the continuous coddling of terrorists ala this or that “goodwill gesture!”

BUT never mind. Here comes the highly astute Caroline Glick, as per what’s what in the hotbed of Israeli politics, aside from the fiery geo-political arena.

ISRAEL NATIONAL NEWS | By Caroline Glick | Jan. 9, 2021

The “quiet” on the northern and southern fronts that Israel’s leaders point to is the result not of Israeli deterrence, as they claim, but deterrence by our enemies.

(JNS) Something happens almost every day that tells us that Israel’s enemies are preparing for war. On the other hand, Israel’s responses to these events indicate that Israel is not preparing for war.

Three separate events last week exposed this distressing state of affairs.

First, on Monday, Iran and its proxies in the Gaza Strip, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq and Yemen marked the second anniversary of the U.S. assassination in Iraq of Maj. Gen. Qassem Soleimani, commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Quds Force. At a ceremony in Tehran, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi pledged to kill former president Donald Trump and former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.

Not only did the Biden administration not condemn the Iranian regime for threatening the life of a former president and secretary of state, but on the day Raisi made the threat, President Joe Biden’s nuclear negotiators were in Vienna beginning another round of nuclear talks with Raisi’s emissaries. U.S. officials told reporters ahead of the talks that they expect to close a deal with the Iranians, perhaps a partial one, in the near future.

To go by the reports of the negotiations, a deal means nothing less than complete U.S. capitulation to Iran’s demands. Last week, Britain’s Spectator published a report titled “Inside Joe Biden’s Disastrous Negotiations with Iran.” It described how the Western position has collapsed due to the radical pro-Iranian posture of the U.S. team led by Robert Malley.

British and other negotiators characterized Malley as “the most dovish official we’ve ever seen.”

One official said that Malley bent over backwards so far that “he now speaks to Tehran between his legs.”

Malley, they explained, presented the Iranians with what was supposed to be the U.S.’s final take-it-or-leave-it offer at the opening session of the negotiations. After the stunned Iranians “caught their breath and climbed back onto their chairs, they set about demanding further concessions.”

And it’s all been downhill from there. Iran has made no concessions of any kind. Clearly, under these circumstances the only way that an agreement—even a partial one—can be reached is if the United States abandons the ostensible purpose of the agreement—to prevent Iran from achieving independent military nuclear capabilities.

Israel’s response to the collapse of America’s diplomatic position has been to paper over the oceanic rift between the U.S. position and that of Israel. Prime Minister Naftali Bennett pretended away the problems, saying, “We’re not a teddy bear that just says ‘No.’ We’re not looking for a fight, there could be a good deal [with Iran].”

In short, the U.S. policy is to appease Iran, and Israel’s policy is to appease the United States. But no one is blocking Iran from becoming a nuclear power.

The second event occurred the day after Raisi threatened to murder Trump and Pompeo, and Biden’s negotiators renewed their genuflections to Raisi’s underlings. On Tuesday, Iran’s Lebanese foreign legion, Hezbollah, launched a UAV into Israel. The IDF responded by downing the drone.

On the surface, the drone story is no cause for concern. But it cannot be seen as an isolated event. Over the past several months, infiltrations and probes of Israeli territory by drones, “laborers,” drug smugglers and others from Lebanon have become routine occurrences along the northern border.

Hezbollah, which exercises complete control over the Lebanese side of the border, allows all these infiltrations and directs most of them. There is a method to these actions. Among other things, Hezbollah uses them to probe Israel’s operational readiness, its force structure and deployments, its intelligence capacity, its speed of response and competence.

Hezbollah’s operations at the border, in turn, cannot be seen in isolation from its “Radwan Plan.”

Around a decade ago, Israel discovered that Hezbollah plans to invade the Galilee in the next war, and seize a village or hostages from a village. Hezbollah intends to use the Israelis it kidnaps either as “human shields” for Hezbollah operations or as bargaining chips in extortionate “negotiations.”

Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah publicly unveiled the Radwan Plan in 2015.

The Radwan force, an elite Hezbollah unit with 2,500 soldiers, is charged with invading Israel. Its members are veterans of the wars in Syria and Iraq. Although Hezbollah announced the program years ago, and Israel in 2018 uncovered sophisticated underground tunnels Hezbollah had constructed for transporting forces into Israel, Israel has yet to fortify the border. To date, only 14 kilometers (8.7 miles) of a concrete border wall have been constructed, due to lack of funding for the project. No discussion of preemptive operations to prevent Hezbollah from carrying out the Radwan plan has entered the public arena. And there is no indication that any such operations have taken place.

This brings us to the third event Israel’s foes initiated this past week. Apropos of nothing, last Saturday, Hamas launched two missiles at Tel Aviv. Later, it attacked IDF helicopters with surface-to-air missiles.

Israel’s leaders routinely attribute the “quiet” between Hamas missile and terror onslaughts to Israel’s deterrent strength. But last week, Hamas terror master Ismail Haniyeh dismissed Israel’s claims.

In an interview with Al Jazeera, Haniyeh said that since “Operation Cast Lead” in 2009, Hamas has used every respite between campaigns to upgrade its strategic capabilities. It built its domestic missile production capabilities and smuggled thousands of advanced projectiles from Iran to Gaza between campaigns. It built a subterranean tunnel complex for offensive and defensive capabilities between campaigns. Ahead of Hamas’s most recent offensive against Israel in May, it built operational coordination with Arab Israelis that enabled Hamas to use Arab-Israeli pogromists as an integral component of its assault.

The assessment that the Arab mobs who lynched Jews and burned Jewish cars, homes and businesses in mixed Jewish and Arab cities, and the mobs that blocked major traffic arteries in the Negev and the Galilee, were orchestrated by Hamas moved from suspicion to certainty when the violence ended as soon as Hamas agreed to a ceasefire.

Israel’s response to Hamas’s missile assault on Tel Aviv was deflating. In the interests of “preserving the quiet,” Israel’s retaliatory airstrike was tepid, at best. Indeed, according to IDF officials, the Prime Minister’s Office was so intent on not provoking Hamas with the response that it sacrificed operational security by telling the media the attack plan before the aircraft took off for Gaza. The PMO denied the allegations, but Israel coordinated its response with the Egyptians, who are serving as go-betweens with Hamas.

Israel’s extraordinary efforts not to provoke Hamas with its counterattack lead to the distressing conclusion that the “quiet” between Hamas campaigns isn’t a testament to Israel’s deterrent strength. It’s a testament to Hamas’s deterrent strength.

Israel did initiate one event in recent weeks: Defense Minister Benny Gantz’s meeting with Palestinian Authority chairman Mahmoud Abbas. Like Bennett, Gantz insisted the meeting didn’t mark the start of a new “peace process.” Both men claimed Gantz’s meeting with Abbas at Gantz’s private residence was necessitated by Israel’s national security.

During their meeting, Gantz agreed to give the P.A. hundreds of millions of shekels, which Abbas will use to pay salaries to terrorists and their families. Gantz agreed to permit massive Palestinian Arab building in Area C of Judea and Samaria, which Israel requires to defend its national security and its communities in the areas. And he agreed to permit 10,000 foreign Arabs residing in the Palestinian Authority illegally to receive permanent residency status.

Obviously, taken together and separately, Gantz’s concessions to Abbas do not advance Israel’s security. They impede Israel’s security. Gantz wasn’t trying to augment Israel’s security by meeting with Abbas. He was trying to appease a terror-supporting adversary.

Israel remains more powerful than its enemies, but those enemies are no slouches. They lack armored divisions and air forces, but have compensated for those deficits by building three-pronged forces tailor-made to fight Israel. Their operational components are missiles, terror and unconventional weapons.

The missile threat Israel faces from Iran and its proxies in Lebanon, Syria, Gaza, Yemen and Iraq has no historical or global precedent. Israel has more missiles pointed at it than any nation on earth.

In a future war Israel can expect to absorb thousands of missiles a day from Lebanon, thousands more from Gaza, and more still from Syria, Iraq and Yemen. Enemy arsenals include tens of thousands of precision-guided missiles as well as rockets. While Israel has the most sophisticated missile defense system in the world, that system cannot withstand thousands of rockets a day. Many will get through.

As for terror, Israel will face both grand terror, of the type envisioned by Hezbollah’s Radwan plan, and local terror, from Abbas’s P.A. and from Arab Israelis who are now integrated into Hamas’s force structure. The purpose of terror is to disrupt civilian life, to undermine IDF mobilization and transport of troops to the battlefield, and in extremis, to bring Israel to its knees.

As for unconventional threats, the most ominous one—Iran’s nuclear weapons program—is apparently not operational at this point. Syria, though, has a large arsenal of chemical weapons. Iran and Hezbollah also have considerable offensive cyber capabilities. In recent months, cyberattacks have hamstrung Israeli hospitals and other critical facilities.

IDF commanders routinely declare that Israel is ready for the storm gathering against it, but it is hard to see evidence of that readiness. For decades, David Ben-Gurion’s doctrine of moving the battle to the enemy’s territory was the guiding concept of Israel’s defense doctrine. Today, that offensive doctrine is barely a flicker of memory.

-Israel is not preemptively striking Hezbollah’s and Hamas’s missiles in Lebanon and Gaza.

-It is not killing their terror commanders.

-Arab Israelis who participated in the organized violence against Jews and blocked roads during Hamas’s missile offensive in May have mostly been released from jail.

-Police and military forces are not confiscating the massive quantities of stolen and smuggled weapons that are nearly ubiquitous in Arab Israeli communities.

Lebanon’s economic ruin is of no concern to Hezbollah, which is largely to blame for the penury of the former Paris of the Middle East. Nasrallah and his terror forces remain scope-locked on readying themselves to attack Israel when given the order by Tehran. The same is the case with Hamas, which rules impoverished Gaza with an iron fist.

Israel’s political and military leadership needs to recognize that appeasement is not a strategic doctrine. It is a political move—and for Israel, a very stupid one. Our military and national leaders need to recognize the gravity of the situation and match Israel’s actions, force levels and resources to the dynamic and deadly form of war our enemies have developed to destroy us.

Gantz eating lollipop

CERTAIN articles and analyses should be viewed as stand-alones. Significantly, this is one of those times.

EVEN so, the below should be considered as prima facie back-up and an addendum to what, tragically, passes as Israel’s gaggle of Knesset leaders, yes, the top dogs!

ONTO the (stomach-churning) candy and the (poison-inducing) kool-aid ….

ISRAEL NATIONAL NEWS | By Ruthie Blum | November 10, 2021

(JNS) Photos that emerged last week of Israeli lawmakers munching on candy for two white nights in a row served as a perfect metaphor for the kindergarten-like atmosphere of the Knesset as a whole and the current government in particular.

Though the assortment of sweets was there for a “serious” purpose—to provide an energy boost to the exhausted parliamentarians during the wee hours of Thursday and Friday, when they debated and voted on the 2021 and 2022 state budgets—there was something both comical and disconcerting about the display.

The sight of Defense Minister Benny Gantz sucking on a pink lollipop, for example, was a bit cringe-inducing. The mullahs in Tehran must have gotten a kick out of it. Or at least wondered why the Israeli figure charged with targeting Iran’s nuclear facilities opted for a sucker over strong Middle Eastern coffee.

In fairness to Gantz, he wasn’t alone. Indeed, the whole lollipop-licking plenum looked as puerile as it’s been sounding these days, with childish verbiage and decibel levels not even fit for a playground.

Nor did the final passage of the budgets put a stop to the infantile behavior. On the contrary, the aftermath of the marathon that kept the government from falling has been just as embarrassing, if not more.

Two blatant cases topping the headlines and TV panels are that of coalition chairwoman Idit Silman and Knesset member Shirley Pinto, both members of Prime Minister Naftali Bennett’s Yamina Party. The former is making waves for dubious claims that she was physically assaulted at a gas station. The latter, a deaf-mute activist with a sign-language interpreter, is causing a stir for referring to fellow Yamina MK Amichai Chikli as a “virus” that’s spreading in the Knesset.

Silman’s account of having been pushed violently against her car by a man who approached her while she was filling her tank has so many holes in it that even the government’s apologists are having a hard time using it as fodder to attack the opposition, led by former Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

For one thing, she’s been unable to recall the exact date or location of the incident. And when CCTV footage from the service station in question came up empty, she tweaked her tale.

Asserting suddenly that the encounter took place beyond the premises of the pumps, she said that she was, in fact, already close to the highway when it happened. This would mean that she was already behind the wheel, however, raising questions about how she could have been hurled against the vehicle if she was inside it.

Details aside, the aim of the “revelation” was to bemoan the social-media and other incitement perpetrated by disgruntled Yamina voters, and to suggest that they’re fomenting an atmosphere similar to that which preceded the assassination of Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin in 1995. These are supporters who feel betrayed by the right-wing party that joined forces with the left in order for Bennett to fulfill his dream of the premiership, even though it entails handing the reins over to Foreign Minister Yair Lapid, head of Yesh Atid, in 2023.

No wonder Bennett’s backing Silman’s story.

Though it’s true that many rude fanatics have been voicing their discontent in a vile and threatening manner, most of those disappointed with having cast their ballots for Bennett are not violent, verbally or otherwise. They’re merely tearing out their own hair.

This brings us to the second, related storm that’s making the rounds: Pinto’s false and below-the-belt description of Chikli. Calling him a “virus” while the world is in the throes of the COVID-19 pandemic is so unacceptable that even those who tend to tiptoe around her due to her disability couldn’t let her words slide without a follow-up, especially since she recently posted on Twitter, then quickly deleted the tweet, that Netanyahu incited Rabin’s murder.

The “clarification” that she came up with was as ridiculous as her initial accusation. Chikli, she said, is like a “computer bug” infecting the political system. This, she explained, was the “virus” to which she had referred.

As if that’s any better.

The irony, of course, is that Chikli is the sole Yamina MK who’s remained loyal to his party’s original platform and ideology. If anything, then, he’s a geek trying to restore a crashed hard drive.

Furthermore, he seems to be the only one in the now-difficult-to-identify faction who remembers that it was precisely the national-religious right (from which Yamina hails) that was blamed by the left for Rabin’s death at the hands of Yigal Amir.

Chikli’s refusal to jump on the amnesia bandwagon, therefore, should be to his credit, not his detriment. But his previous proverbial comrades-in-arms haven’t just been eating the Knesset candy; they’ve been drinking the Kool-Aid.

ISRAELI PHYSICIANS, SCIENTISTS TO HOLD ANTI-LOCK-DOWN DEMONSTRATION; MIRROR IMAGE TO U.S. COLLEAGUES WHO OPERATE VIA SCIENCE & NOT POLITICAL CALCULI – By Adina Kutnicki

Anti-lockdown protest

Before anything else, full disclosure: This writer’s partner, a.k.a. Doc, is part and parcel of a growing team of physicians and scientists in Israel who understand what’s what in the politically-laden, explosive arena of lock-downs vis-à-vis the Wuhan virus, relative to its efficacy — or lack thereof.

Operating behind the scenes, he lends his expertise re the linkage(s) between covid-19 to the cardio-thoracic system in general — juxtaposed against those with co-morbid, underlying diseases who test positive for covid-19. Both scenarios, relative to outcomes, can be compared to apples and oranges. Unrelated.

Furthermore, as a leading surgeon in Israel’s world renowned trauma hospital, he has no patience, or use, for fools. He understands that the willy-nilly lock-downs in Israel are NOT based on medical/scientific facts, but rather on political calculi couched under nonsensical mumbo-jumbo. Kid you not.

In this regard, a nexus must be drawn between the manner in which power-hungry, far-left leaders in the U.S. are all-in when it comes to lock-downs — with nary any medical/scientific facts to back up their so-called strategies — and Israel’s feckless and clueless leaders! How can this be?

Most intrinsically, a leadership which purposefully chooses to ignore the well-earned advice from a growing consensus of front-line doctors — as opposed to clueless bureaucrats and opportunistic politicians — is a leadership which deserves the boot! Post haste.

Onto Israel’s highly competent truth-tellers….

ISRAEL/NATIONAL/NEWS | By Mordechai Sones | September 17, 2020

‘Doctors and scientists demand halt to closure, the decision of which to impose is based on zero transparent information to the public.’

group of physicians and scientists opposing the upcoming holiday COVID-19 lockdown is planning a demonstration this evening in Kikar Habima in Tel Aviv at 8:00 PM.

Among organizers and participants include Shamir Medical Center at Asaf Harofe Hospital Coronavirus Ward Director Dr. Avi Mizrachi, Senior gynecologist Dr. Rotem Inbar, Tel Aviv University Immunology expert Professor Ariel Munitz, Pediatrician Dr. Efrat Shor, Tel Aviv University Microbiology and Immunobiology Department head Professor Udi Kidron, Medical and Strategic Advisor and Haredi Journalist Mr. Menachem Gshayer, Former Meuchedet head Professor Asher Alhiani, and Laniado Hospital Emergency Medicine Director Dr. Amir Shachar.

The announcement for the protest reads: “Doctors and scientists are demanding a halt to the closure, the decision of which to impose is based on zero transparent information to the public, biases and distortions of morbidity and mortality data, without any serious discussion, and ignoring the voices of many experts who have expressed dissent. Please come and share so we can prevent the catastrophic closure.”

Yesterday, a letter of warning was sent to the Prime Minister, the Health Minister, and the Attorney General before a petition was submitted to the Supreme Court against the lockdown, as part of the requirement to exhaust procedures before submitting. The arguments in the petition to be filed will be based on this letter.

The letter was submitted by Attorneys Batya Zacks and Rita Price, and speaks on behalf of a number of medical, science, academia, law, journalism personages, and citizens.

The arguments set out in the letter seek to disprove, one by one, all justifications raised for imposing the closure, both regarding the extent of the morbidity of the virus, which health officials testified in the Knesset Coronavirus Committee is much less than publicized due to incorrect definitions, both regarding the number of critical and ventilated patients and the expected increase in their number; and regarding the threat of the collapse of the hospitals, which the writers claim is far from reality and is not necessarily related to the coronavirus disease, and also regarding mortality rates from the virus that they say are very low.

The Prime Minister’s office and Health Ministry did not respond to a request to comment on the petition.

AL-QAEDA’s FIRST ISLAMIC (CALIPHATE) ARC:KNOCK-ON EFFECTS OF BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA’s MID EAST WILDFIRES.Commentary By Adina Kutnicki

ISIS: Behind the Group That Took Mosul

FROM the get go, it is imperative to understand that the current disintegration of Iraq -even as this is being written – into the hands of Al Qaeda should have been a jihadi no-brainer. And don’t bother scratching your head, pondering: how did this happen? In fact, had this not come to pass, well, that would have been a head scratcher!

In reality, the nanosecond that Barack HUSSEIN Obama announced the end of U.S. troops in Iraq, back in October 2011, just in time to use as a sound bite for his 2012 propaganda campaign, Iraq became the primary target for Al Qaeda’s mega thrust. He understood as much. Yes, he did.

Mind you, while some Americans (other westerners too) understand the geo-political gravity of the situation, the fact of the matter is that this American-Israeli understands what is taking place, not just from an overall geo-political perspective, but from one whose own borders are, to a maximum degree, threatened. And so much more.

To wit, the following is not an exercise in theoretical posturing. Indeed, its knock-on effects are cataclysmic, especially when catapulted onto Iran’s nuclear menace and Syria’s dissolution. So between Iran, via its proxy arm Hezbollah, using Syria as a staging ground, and Al Qaeda jihadists gaining another foothold, the region has never, ever been more menacing. Besides, for the time being, you can put aside the endless warring between Sunni and Shia, a centuries old conflict with no end in sight. If only said inter-tribal warfare were the major issue, what a relief that would be. After all, let them just kill each other and the west will be that much safer. However, this is only a pipe dream.

As a matter of record, within both Islamic streams, splintered groups are jockeying for power to create the first Islamic (Caliphate) arc in modern history, and with a terror entity as its hegemonic power! OMG!! But for westerners, and in the most simplistic of terms, think of the above in relation to the largest criminal organizations bar none, perhaps using the Mafia as a template. Raising the stakes even further, thus postulate Islamic outcomes via mega steroids, as they fight major turf battles, ultimately seeking to extend their authority over everything in their wake. However, not just to those who owe them this or that debt, if you dare imagine.

In fact, make no mistake: this site is not suggesting that Iraq’s Shiite PM has been anything but a pawn of Shiite hegemonic powers, hardly a model “democrat”. Nevertheless, after all the American/western blood and treasure spilled on behalf of Iraq, one would expect  that the ascension of an Al Qaeda Islamic State in Iraq and Levant – ISIS – endangers not only all of the Mid East and beyond, but the entire free world. Surely any POTUS would fight against this outcome – or so one would believe.

As indicated on numerous occasions, starting back in Dec. 2012 – many moons ago, at least in the realm of the average westerner’s ADD-afflicted thinking –  the Islamist-in-Chief’s illegal war in Libya gave Al Qaeda a renewed tailwind! How magnanimous. But there’s more.

Tailwind One:

How many recall the chemicals unleashed on Syria’s captive population? How many understand how the usage of chemical warfare became a blow back outgrowth, due to Barack HUSSEIN Obama’s upending of Libya for the benefit of the Brotherhood Mafia? How many know that Al Qaeda is (one of) its bastard offshoots?

Tailwind Two:

Still and all, no rational observer, let alone national leadership, wouldn’t expect the very same Al Qaeda terror organization to stay clear of Israel’s borders. So isn’t the tailwind given by Barack HUSSEIN Obama to Al Qaeda another one of his weapons used against Israel, a nation he rabidly detests, all the more a grave geo-political disaster, being that Israel is the ONLY western “outpost” in the entire Islamic-riven jihadi region? Of course.

Tailwind Three:

But even if we leave aside Iraq’s current disintegration, what part of Al Qaeda and its vanguard’s barbarism towards Christians and other minorities hasn’t been apparent in both Egypt and Syria, let alone throughout Africa? In other words, when does the leader of the free world step up and proclaim: yes, establishing Islamic jihadi safe havens must be an inviolate “red line”, principally as a high priority western interest?

Tailwind Four:

And, in light of the above, isn’t it apparent as to why a growing case for impeachment is warranted, as the Islamist-in-Chief, for all intents and purposes, aids and abets Al Qaeda takeovers?

Tailwind Five:

So, back in January 2014, how shocking was it to hear: Al Qaeda declared the first independent Islamic state towards a reconstituted Caliphate!

But that was then and this is now…..

U.S. Said To Rebuff Iraqi Requests To Strike Militants

WASHINGTON — As the threat from Sunni militants in western Iraq escalated last month, Prime Minister Nuri Kamal al-Maliki secretly asked the Obama administration to consider carrying out airstrikes against extremist staging areas, according to Iraqi and American officials.

But Iraq’s appeals for a military response have so far been rebuffed by the White House, which has been reluctant to open a new chapter in a conflict that President Obama has insisted was over when the United States withdrew the last of its forces from Iraq in 2011.

The swift capture of Mosul by militants aligned with the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria has underscored how the conflicts in Syria and Iraq have converged into one widening regional insurgency with fighters coursing back and forth through the porous border between the two countries. But it has also called attention to the limits the White House has imposed on the use of American power in an increasingly violent and volatile region.

A spokeswoman for the National Security Council, Bernadette Meehan, declined to comment on Mr. Maliki’s requests. “We are not going to get into details of our diplomatic discussions,” she said in a statement. “The current focus of our discussions with the government of Iraq and our policy considerations is to build the capacity of the Iraqis to successfully confront” the Islamic extremists.

The Obama administration has carried out drone strikes against militants in Yemen and Pakistan, where it fears terrorists have been hatching plans to attack the United States. But despite the fact that Sunni militants have been making steady advances and may be carving out new havens from which they could carry out attacks against the West, administration spokesmen have insisted that the United States is not actively considering using warplanes or armed drones to strike them.

Hoshyar Zebari, Iraq’s foreign minister, last year floated the idea that armed American-operated Predator or Reaper drones might be used to respond to the expanding militant network in Iraq. American officialsdismissed that suggestion at the time, saying that the request had not come from Mr. Maliki.

By March, however, American experts who visited Baghdad were being told that Iraq’s top leaders were hoping that American air power could be used to strike the militants’ staging and training areas inside Iraq, and help Iraq’s beleaguered forces stop them from crossing into Iraq from Syria.

“Iraqi officials at the highest level said they had requested manned and unmanned U.S. airstrikes this year against ISIS camps in the Jazira desert,” said Kenneth M. Pollack, a former C.I.A. analyst and National Security Council official, who is a senior fellow at the Brookings Institutionand who visited Baghdad in early March. ISIS is the acronym for the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria, as the militant group is known.

As the Sunni insurgents have grown in strength those requests have persisted. In a May 11 meeting with American diplomats and Gen. Lloyd J. Austin III, the head of the Central Command, which oversees American military operations in the Middle East, Mr. Maliki said he would like the United States to provide Iraq with the ability to operate drones. But if the United States was not willing to do that, Mr. Maliki indicated he was prepared to allow the United States to carry out strikes using warplanes or drones.

In a May 16 phone call with Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr., Mr. Maliki again suggested that the United States consider using American air power. A written request repeating that point was submitted soon afterward, officials said.

Some experts say that such American military action could be helpful but only if Mr. Maliki takes steps to make his government more inclusive.

“U.S. military support for Iraq could have a positive effect but only if it is conditioned on Maliki changing his behavior within Iraq’s political system,” Mr. Pollack said. “He has to bring the Sunni community back in, agree to limits on his executive authority and agree to reform Iraqi security forces to make them more professional and competent.”

But so far, the administration has signaled that it is not interested in such a direct American military role.

“Ultimately, this is for the Iraqi security forces, and the Iraqi government to deal with,” Rear Adm. John F. Kirby, the Pentagon spokesman, said Tuesday.

The deteriorating situation in Iraq is not what the Obama administration expected when it withdrew the last American troops from there in 2011. In a March 2012 speech, Antony J. Blinken, who is Mr. Obama’s deputy national security adviser, asserted that “Iraq today is less violent” than “at any time in recent history.”

From the start, experts have stressed that the conflict in Iraq is as much political as military. Mr. Maliki’s failure to include leading Sunnis in his government has heightened the sectarian divisions in Iraq.

But American officials also say that militants from the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria represent a formidable military threat, one that Iraq’s security forces, which lack an effective air force, have been hard pressed to handle on their own.

Adding to that challenge is the fact that the group controls territory on both sides of the Iraqi-Syrian border, and the Iraq and Syria conflicts have been feeding each other.

Said Lakhdar Brahimi, the former United Nations envoy to the collapsed Syria peace talks: “The region is in trouble, starting with Iraq. When I went to Baghdad in December, I was told that for every 100 operations ISIS did in Syria, it did 1,000 in Iraq.”

Critics say the latest developments show the weakness in an administration strategy designed to shore up Iraqi forces and to combat a growing Islamic militancy in Syria that officials say poses an increasing counterterrorism threat to the United States.

In a speech on Wednesday, Susan E. Rice, Mr. Obama’s national security adviser, said that the American effort to buttress Iraq’s forces had been effective. “The United States has been fast to provide necessary support for the people and government of Iraq,” she said in remarks at the Center for New American Security in Washington.

The United States has provided a $14 billion foreign military aid package to Iraq that includes F-16 fighter jets, Apache attack helicopters and M-16 rifles. It has rushed hundreds of Hellfire missiles as well as ScanEagle reconnaissance drones.

A second round of counterterrorism training between American Special Operations commandos and Iraqi troops started in Jordan this week. At least two F-16s are set to arrive in Iraq by September, and six Apaches will be leased for training later this year, Iraqi and Pentagon officials said.

But some former generals who served in Iraq said a greater effort was needed.

James M. Dubik, a retired Army lieutenant general who oversaw the training of the Iraqi army during the surge, summed it up this way: “We should fly some of our manned and unmanned aircraft and put advisers into Iraq that can help the Iraqi Army plan and execute a proper defense, then help them transition to a counter offensive.”

Israeli war planners are, as always, watching the encirclement of the nation’s borders, and not just from Iran’s (usual) proxies. And no one should be oh so shocked when Israeli forces take matters into their own hands, knowing full well that Barack HUSSEIN Obama has no interest in tamping down the flames, even though it will appear as if U.S. cooperation is in the background. Nonsense.

More specifically, and even more incendiary, what kind of a (im)moral cretin, a pygmy, leaves Americans to fend for themselves under jihadi fire:

WND previously reported Friday that private contractors who have recently returned to the U.S. from Iraq said their former colleagues effectively had been abandoned by the U.S. military and were fighting for their lives against an army of jihadists surrounding the base who belong to the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria, or ISIS.

The U.S. contractors were at Balad to help the Pentagon prepare the facilities for the delivery of the F-16 aircraft the Obama administration has agreed to provide the Iraqi government.

The surrounded Americans said they were under ISIS fire from small arms, AK47s, and rocket propelled grenades, or RPGs.

The contractors had been able to hold the base, but those on the scene reported it was only a matter of time before the ISIS terrorists succeeded in breaking through the perimeter. The sources confirmed the contractors were still under siege, despite an Associated Press report Thursday, citing U.S. officials, that three planeloads of Americans were being evacuated from Balad.

WND learned from sources that the jihadists closed down escape routes, and the U.S. Air Force was in a stand-down position. U.S. forces were not assisting even with air cover so a private extradition flight could land for a rescue, the sources said.

Privately scheduled exit flights had fallen through, sources said, as several private pilots originally scheduled to make the flights quit.

The sources contended the U.S. military could provide the necessary air cover to protect C-130s or other air transport craft sufficient to make the evacuation, but far officials had refused to get involved.

In the main, removing American boots from Iraq literally paved the road for factions of jihadists to plot unimpeded. Predictably, instead of America taking the lead, the wayward Commander-in-Chief is now “in talks” with Iran’s killing machine, deciding how best to beat back Al Qaeda!

Thursday afternoon, Iran’s most powerful gun, the Al Qods Brigades chief Gen. Qassem Soleimani, arrived in Baghdad to take over the push against ISIS, in the same way as he has managed Bashar Assad’s war in Syria, and pull together the demoralized and scattered Iraqi army.

Those steps by Washington and Tehran pave the way for the US and Iran to cooperate for the first time in a joint military endeavor.

Since ISIS forces, albeit boosted by tens of thousands of armed Sunnis flocking to the black flag, are not capable of capturing Baghdad and have halted outside the city, President Obama and Iran’s Ayatollah Ali Khamenei have won a small space for deciding how to proceed.
Khamenei must determine whether Gen. Soleimani with the help of American weaponry can stop al Qaeda, save Maliki from collapse and prevent the fall of Baghdad, and whether it is worth sending an Iranian army division over to Iraq, our intelligence sources reported earlier Thursday. They have since entered Iraq and are fighting ISIS forces.

These moves by Tehran will determined how Washington acts in the coming hours.

Does any westerner believe this confab will turn out well, let alone for American and Israeli objectives?

For if the POTUS’s “red lines” via Syria and Iran are any indication of his ill intent, what makes anyone think that Al Qaeda’s arc in Iraq – previously aiding their ascension in Syria through Benghazigate – will elicit another result?

Bulls eye.
