PM Netanyahu, “Serial Appeaser”, Then And Now: Abandons Heroes, Yet, Coddles/ Rewards Terrorists – Dope-Carrier, Alike. How Can This Be? Commentary By Adina Kutnicki

{UPDATE: “Netanyahu to fly to Russia ahead of Naama Issachar’s release”…..scroll down and read the prognostication within re this so-called pardon….yes, the price paid for the pothead’s release is beyond a betrayal to the nation – never mind the smoke and mirrors re Bibi’s diplo prowess!}

FULL DISCLOSURE: If not for this writer’s relationship with Tsafrir Ronen (of blessed memory), one of Israel’s “Lions of Zion“, much of the insight gleaned over the years – vis-à-vis Israel’s mendacious leaders and non-elected functionaries – would be mired in the leadership’s smoke and mirrors shows.

THOUGH 11 years has passed since said hero is no longer among us, oftentimes, it feels like yesterday that we worked side by side. At the same time, on a very personal level, this tower of (Zionist) strength was a very gentle and caring man. As such, Tsafrir (of blessed memory) will always be considered a “blood brother.”

ALAS, upon hearing of his sudden passing (from his devoted wife), the following was featured at Israel National News, Arutz Sheva – Israel’s Hero, My Hero

While all lovers of Zion anxiously scan the news regarding the IAF’s “shock and awe” operation against Hamas, those who received the shocking news of Tsafrir Ronen’s untimely and very sudden death this very same weekend could not help but be shaken to the core of their souls.

While every death deeply affects family and friends, few of those deaths can be described as a monumental loss for Zion. The passing of Tsafrir Ronen, z”l – a stalwart, non-intimidated defender of Zion – will surely register as such, when the history of modern Israel is told in full.

As a former Sayeret Matkal (General Staff Reconnaissance Unit) commando, a prolific documentary filmmaker and a founder of the Nahalal Forum, to name a few of his accomplishments, Tsafrir was a totally devoted defender of the land and people of Israel.

An individual with great vision and a sweeping understanding of Jewish history, he knew instinctively that the war being waged against Israel had many dimensions. As a warrior he understood well the military dynamics, but it was his visceral and incisive understanding of the media war being waged against us that caused him to stand head and shoulders above the rest.

To that end, he decided to direct all of his passions and energies – through the use of his extensive knowledge of the media – to save Israel both from its external foes and internal ones. As the ex-CEO of the Israel History Channel, he knew what needed to be done media-wise. Constructively, he put his vision to work by creating the conceptual and business underpinnings for Israel World Television, the first pro-Israel satellite channel to be broadcast worldwide, providing for 24/7 coverage, FOX News-like.

He assembled an all-star lineup of backers, which included major players in the Israeli and worldwide business scene, coupled with a roster of the most astute political thinkers on the Israeli landscape today. Most importantly, he had the backing of Natan Sharansky, a man of worldwide respect as a champion of freedom. What his diverse group of supporters had in common was the intrinsic understanding that Israel is losing the battle on the media front and that we are at an existential crossroads. They all believed that Tsafrir had the integrity, vision, and expertise to lead the charge.

The sudden loss of this wonderful, humble man is first and foremost a devastating one for his loving and supportive wife Judy and their “three blondinas”, the pet name he had for his three beautiful, blond-haired daughters. They were his pride and joy. On a personal level, I will miss my best friend in Israel; a man I considered my “blood brother”, with whom I worked side by side to support him in his mission and vision.

On a national level, his loss will most likely be appreciated when history is written. In the same manner that few understood the profound essence of all of Ze’ev Jabotinsky’s efforts for our homeland while he was alive, so, too, will Tsafrir’s undertakings resonate in future generations. I suspect that he will be the model that future generations of Zionists will emulate when his activities on behalf of Zion become more widely known.

Rest in peace, my dear friend. May your memory be for a blessing. With eternal friendship.

KNOW this: The above is hardly a meandering trip down memory lane. Rather, it is precisely due to the lack of statesmanship and moral leadership (polar opposites to Tsafrir, of blessed memory) that Jewish scoundrels (the Joint Arab List Party and its terror supporters, too) find their “home(s)” within Israel’s dysfunctional political system. Effectively, party hacks can utterly defy the will of the majority public – despite the promises made to the very same electorate that ushered them into the top tier! This is so because Israel is not a representative democracy within any realm of democratic norms. Third election, anyone?? Pointedly, the underpinnings of this broken swamp can be found via Vote Right, Get Left:The Paradox of Israeli Politics.

WITH that truth-telling set straight, “deals with the devil” have become business as usual and the “norm” within Israel’s hierarchy. Consider:

INCONTESTABLY, the above outrages (plus, decades worth of others) have one main component and ingredient in common – and this is aside from, and atop of,  the structural quagmire: appeasement.

IN the first three instances, Hamas (akin to the PA junta, and assorted Brotherhood Mafia appendages/front-groups) is the beneficiary of the leadership’s political chicanery. As evidenced and excerpted within all three:

IN 2007, in the first instance….

……On a daily basis, Jewish soldiers and security officers risk life and limb to capture these killers, but the Israeli leadership treats their heroic actions as nothing more than a game of cat-and-mouse. Not only is this message seared into the souls of the soldiers, thus demoralizing them, but also into the consciousness of the terrorists. How many times have we witnessed the humiliating spectacle of newly captured terrorists smile for the cameras, wave victory fingers, and brazenly state that they expect to be released, while being hauled off to jail?

The terrorists have surely imbibed the message that a catch-and-release program is part of the Israeli leadership’s plans – no matter how heinous the terrorists’ crimes. If you were a terrorist, wouldn’t you, too, internalize the same hopeful message? No such positive message is aimed at the Jews…..

IN 2015, in the second instance…..

Israel allowed 14,000 tons of building material into Gaza on Wednesday, the defense ministry said of the largest single shipment since last summer’s Hamas terror war – despite the fact that Hamas is using such materials to rapidly rebuild its terror tunnels to attack Israel.

COGAT, the IDF Coordination of Government Activities in the Territories, told AFP that some 354 trucks passed through the Kerem Shalom goods crossing in southern Gaza carrying “construction materials,” without elaborating what goods were let in.

The news comes as Hamas is working to rebuild its tunnels into Israel that were used to attack Israelis in Operation Protective Edge to lethal effect.

Hamas is intensively rebuilding its terror tunnel infrastructure, with the digging reportedly taking place six days a week with three shifts each day.

Over 1,000 diggers are said to be employed by Hamas to construct the tunnels, and the current estimation is that the tunnels lead up to Israeli territory – Hamas will extend them beyond when it feels the time is right to strike.

It was cleared for publication on Wednesday that Hamas had planned to use its tunnels for a massive abduction operation during last summer’s war.

Despite the overwhelming evidence that Hamas is gearing up for its next terror war against Israel after its third attempt fell short last summer, Israel continues to ship in construction goods that are being used to rebuild the tunnels…..

CLEAR as a bell.

IN 2020, in the third instance…..

Goldin said at the panel, “Every family in Israel sends its sons to the IDF in order for them to return home. There is a heavy issue here. It is the duty of the state to give the feeling of security to every citizen. There is terrorism here against the families [of the missing soldiers]. There is a terrorist organization here that uses every means to disintegrate Israeli society through the families of the missing soldiers.”

“Five and a half years ago, during Operation Protective Edge, we consciously decided that we lost to terror and abandoned the fighters and this is done blatantly every day. It is inconceivable that every day there is an ‘arrangement’ [with Hamas]. We’re talking about an upgrade of the Gaza Strip,” Goldin charged.

“There’s a gas pipeline that went under the radar last week and was arranged to enter the Strip. Are Hadar or [Avera] Mengistu or other IDF soldiers who were left behind worth less than a gas pipeline or a deal for strawberries? Is the Qatari money which pays the salaries to Hamas officials in Gaza worth more than Hadar and Oron?” Goldin wondered. “The most blatant point that needs to be said here is that our children and our pride in our country and the justification for being here are being harmed. There is a government here that does not miss an opportunity to abandon soldiers and blatantly does so.”

Goldin added, “We in the family do not think that Hadar should be returned at all costs. We say sharply and clearly that they should not be abandoned at all costs and this is what has been done for the past five and a half years. Freeing terrorists is not the only way to release prisoners and missing persons. In two months, US President Trump is going to introduce his ‘Deal of the Century’. Will the captives and missing persons be included in the deal?

TRUE to form, again, in Jan. 2020, at the same time that the captives’ families query aloud – as to the continuous, dangerous, egregious, and insufferable “deals made with the (Islamic) devil” – Naama Issachar, an actual dope-carrier, smuggler, if you will, rest assured, will receive a “get out of (Russian) jail” and “Deal of the Century”, too, at the hands of Israel’s appeasing and mendacious leaders! At what (national) cost? And, how can this be? Rhetorical.

Yaffa Issachar, Naama’s mother, met Thursday with Prime Minister Netanyahu and Russian President Putin at the Prime Minister’s Residence in Jerusalem.

“It’s clear Naama is from a good family,” Putin said after the meeting. We will take everything into account when we make the decision. Everything will be fine,” Putin promised Yaffa after the meeting.

Netanyahu’s office responded, “PM Netanyahu is very satisfied from President Putin’s statement, and thanks him for his readiness.”

“I am excited, optimistic. The journey is behind us,” Yaffa told Channel 13 earlier. “I hope this is it, that I will hear something good from the president, that he will bring my daughter home to Israel. It’s hard to digest that a simple person like me would meet a president of such status.”

In Israel, a package of gestures was formulated for the Russians to allow President Putin to make the decision to release Naama Issachar.

Her impending release will not only be possible thanks to “Alexander’s Courtyard” in the Old City, recorded in the records about three weeks ago in the name of the Russian Church; Israel also intends to change its attitude toward a number of other Russian properties in Jerusalem, including a part of the Russian Compound which is not the famous detention complex.

Channel 12 reported that the Russians demanded procedural relief on assets that have a Russian connection. In addition, Israel is committed to facilitating access to the Russian monastery and church in the Ein Karem neighborhood of the capital. Alongside all this, Israel will loosen the criteria for Russian citizens to enter the country.

IF that is not mind-blowing enough…..

Naama Issachar, an Israeli backpacker, was on her way home to Israel from India when she was found to be in possession of marijuana. In April 2019, Issachar was sentenced to a 7.5-year prison sentence in Russia.

According to Galatz, in October, when the issue of requesting pardon came up, Naama asked her mother, “Mom, why do I need a pardon? That means I’m a criminal and I’m not.”

However, though she claimed to have “no idea” how the drug got into her bag, Naama was recorded telling her friend that she’s “in much bigger trouble” than the two had hoped for. She has also claimed that she never confessed to the smuggling attempt.

MOST significantly, how can an Israeli leadership justify going to such great lengths for a dope-carrier, who, according to this investigative journalist’s opinion, should shut up and do her time for her crime. On the other hand, meanwhile, Israel’s war heroes are left in the bloody hands of Hamas, at the same time that Hamas (and assorted terror groups) receives gift….after gift….after gift…..

DEAR reader, it all goes back to the fact that none of the leaders are DIRECTLY accountable to the electorate – most especially, the PM, who happens to be a “serial appeaser“, to boot!

Israel’s High Command & Their (Derelict) Acquiescence To Attrition Warfare. How Did It Happen? Commentary By Adina Kutnicki

Image result for pics of hamas

(Hamas’s logo)

WHILE it is patently clear that Israel wields the mightiest and most advanced  military force in the region, on the other hand, it is painfully obvious that it hasn’t won a decisive victory, ever since its stunning win in the Six-Day War in June 1967. Indisputably, it was the “mother of all wars”; one which has been studied and examined by the U.S. Navy War College as an exemplary template, irrespective of force size. Its basis, Israeli Operational Art: The Six Day War, can be found here.

SIMPLY put, the Arab world (others alike) will not accept its massive defeat. And, even more so, its humiliation; that which an honor-shame culture is incapable of recovering from. So the very fact that tiny Israel (Jews, no less) was victorious over Egypt, Jordan, and Syria (and had the “audacity” to capture the Sinai Peninsula, the Gaza Strip, the so-called “West Bank” – in actuality, its historical and Biblical heartland, Judea & Samaria – and the Golan Heights), well, the rest is history, so to speak. Intifada after intifada, outright war after war (with the Yom Kippur War in 1973 as their mega “response”) has never waned. Ceased.

MOST significantly, even after the initial losses via a sneak attack from multiple Arab armies, once again, the IDF managed to turn the tide – only to accede to a Russian and U.S. cease-fire to determine the outcome! Vassal state, anyone?

The beginning of the war was completely disastrous for Israel. On the second day they tried to counterattack in the Sinai, but their tanks were decimated.

Nevertheless, unbelievably the Israelis gradually turned the tide of battle. First, they did so against Syria. The Israelis not only pushed them off of their gains but further back than when they had begun – to within 14 miles of Damascus.

Then the Israelis stabilized the line in the Sinai, primarily because after the Egyptians made their gains they chose not to continue on the offensive. Then Ariel Sharon mounted an incredible historic counterattack to cross the Suez to the Egyptian side. Through the fiercest fighting the Israelis laid a pontoon bridge and got their tank corps across it. Now there was nothing between them and Cairo. Furthermore, they now encircled the main Egyptian army, the Third Army, threatening to totally destroy it.

At this point, Russia intervened by inviting American foreign minister Henry Kissinger to the negotiating table. Russia and the United States forced a disengagement agreement.

ALAS, fast forward nine years to 1982, and to more of the same. After repeated cross-border attacks by the PLO burrowed inside Lebanon, the Lebanon War, aka the First Lebanon War, erupted. After a well-worn method of “attrition warfare” with Fatah’s (Abul Nidal Organization) onslaught taking the lead, the IDF was finally released from its leash. Hmm.

The final provocation occurred in June 1982 when a Palestinian terrorist group led by Abu Nidal attempted to assassinate Israel’s Ambassador to Great Britain, Shlomo Argov. The IDF subsequently attacked Lebanon again on June 4-5, 1982. The PLO responded with a massive artillery and mortar attack on the Israeli population of the Galilee. On June 6, the IDF moved into Lebanon to drive out the terrorists in “Operation Peace for Galilee.”

AS always, par for the leadership’s record, another cease-fire took place – and it was hardly worth the paper it was written on! But for the fact that they failed to internalize what the IDF’s hasty retreat from Lebanon in 2000 – without a clear-cut victory – would lead to, know that, in and of itself, it constituted a grave dereliction of duty. Without a shadow of a doubt, it enabled Iran’s proxy forces to enter the vacuum. In fact, Hezbollah would hardly be a major threat to Israel, if not for the above.

(Hezbollah fighters celebrating on the day the IDF left South Lebanon, May 24, 2000.)

Standing before the microphone, looking like he was delivering a eulogy, Shaul Mofaz, the commander of the Israeli army on May 24, 2000, told the citizens of Israel that after 15 years in the Security Zone in South Lebanon, the IDF had withdrawn. He called the move “historic.” He said the “boys had been brought back home.” There was no mention of victory….continue reading….

MORE specifically, Israel’s political hierarchy (smarties that they think they are) failed to learn the most salient lesson of all from the resounding military success of 1967 – victory, at all costs! Effectively, from thereon in, cease-fires + the Orwellian concept of “havlaga” (הבלגה), aka “restraint is strength”, has become the leadership’s “strategic” goal. Said charge can be discerned within numerous analyses and interviews – most of which took place from 2012 to date. They can be found here, here, here, here, and so on and so forth. In other words, little has changed in the leadership’s “thinking” – such that it is!

After 20 rockets were fired from the Gaza Strip in the three weeks since Dec. 7, 2017 limited punitive IDF air strikes, which never stopped them before, are still not working.

The identity of the hand orchestrating the rocket campaign depends on whom you ask. Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman attributes it to “infighting among the Gaza Strip’s rival terrorist groups,” although he holds Hamas accountable for failing to prevent it. The IDF spokesperson issued a statement on Monday, Dec. 18, 2017 listing 40 IDF retaliatory strikes against Hamas terrorist targets: “Hamas is exclusively responsible for the situation in the Gaza Strip. The IDF views the firing of rockets at Israeli communities with the utmost gravity and will not allow any harm or attempt to harm the citizens of the State of Israel.”

Hollow words indeed so long as no effective action is taken for putting a stop to the bane.  Meanwhile, hundreds of thousands of Israeli civilians, including many thousands of children, live in fear of their lives.

Some of Israel’s mainstream media join in Lieberman’s game of obfuscation for absolving Hamas of keeping its hand on the button for releasing the rocket barrage. One headline proclaimed: “Hamas tortures Salafis to curb Gaza rocket fire,” and sends messages to Israel that “it does not seek escalation.”

Hamas may well be torturing Salafis, but DEBKAfile’s military sources assert this has nothing to do with the rockets launched almost daily from the Gaza Strip. It is the supreme command of Hamas’ armed wing, the Ezz e-din Qassam Brigades, which is directly responsible – not small factions or other terrorist groups. The commanders of the radical Islamist group are motivated by burning resentment of their political leaders’ compliance with Cairo’s drive for reconciliation between the Palestinian Authority led by Fatah and the Hamas rulers of the Gaza Strip. Hamas terror chiefs have no intention of handing Gaza’s border crossings with Israel and Egypt to the control of PA security forces, or of accepting a permanent mission in Gaza City of generals from the Egyptian intelligence ministry.

Hamas is venting its resentment typically by goading Israel with an as-yet measured barrage of rockets, taking advantage of the wave of Islamic protest generated by US President Trump’s recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital. The order coming down from the Hamas high command is to its allow any group, including its own activists, to shoot rockets into Israel. The level of fire must not be allowed to get out of hand; neither is it stopped or the launchers impounded. This keeps the barrage irregular and spasmodic – yet controlled, a bane for Israelis living within range, who are trying to carry on with their lives. Hamas is fully capable of stopping it, if it so wishes, but Israel is so far avoiding outright action for making this happen.

IN this regard, the more things change, the more they stay the same – at least within Israel’s political machine, regardless of political party. Inestimably, vote right, get left – this is the paradox of Israeli politics.

RESULTANT, it has never been (and never will be) little more than a fairy tale….a pipe dream….a flying pig moment….that rocket fire from Hamas-controlled territory would cease after countless cease-fires. Therefore, why are Israel’s leaders making the same “strategic” errors? Inestimably, all is not as it seems

Image result for pics of hamas terror against israel

BUT even as we wend further down the rabbit hole, it behooves bearing the following in mind: If not for the fact that the late PM Sharon “gifted” to Israel’s tormentors the Gaza Strip, aka Gush Katif, their missiles/rockets/tunnels would not be threatening Israel to even an iota of the degree that is currently tormenting Israel’s southern citizens.

YES, it was the so-called “Disengagement” in 2005 – more aptly, the wholesale destruction of thriving Jewish communities within Gush Katif – which will go down in the annals of Israel’s modern history as the biggest crime against the majority Zionist public, not to mention its strategically disastrous knock-on effects! Rest assured, this craven act of appeasement could not have come to pass without the abandonment of victory as a strategic imperative, and with cease-fires atop “havlaga” supplanted in its stead. Indeed, what is taking place today from the terrorist enclave is an inextricable consequence of the “Bitter Fruits of Disengagement.”

IN every respect and in real-world terms, above are the direct knock-on effects of appeasement; a triad of wreckage – physical, moral, and spiritual. To wit, Israel’s leaders managed to turn brother against brother and sister against sister through psychological brainwashing –The Mental Preparation for the Disengagement
And its Aftermath in the IDF’!! Read it to believe it.

We are tired of fighting, we are tired of being courageous, we are tired of winning, we are tired of defeating our enemies, we want that we will be able to live in an entirely different environment of relations with our enemies. - Ehud Olmert

SO the real crux is: Now that the reader (especially, through clicking on various evidentiary-filled links cited throughout) understands what’s what, it becomes clear that Israel’s leaders are not only wildly derelict, but accede to “attrition warfare” as the “fate” of the nation, paradoxically, the price to be paid for its survival. Indeed, they are “tired of fighting….tired of winning….”

AS reported on Dec. 22, 2017:

Israel has repeatedly sent out warnings that Hizballah would not be permitted to come near its Golan border, yet the IDF did not raise a finger to save Mahar Al-Mir. Since its fall, the rebel chiefs offered to retreat from the enclave without a fight. This development, our military sources stress, would bring Syrian and Hizballah troops right up to the Syrian-Israel borderline running through the Hermon foothills up to northern Golan…..

THUS, by extrapolation, they have abandoned victory as a strategic goal. Hence, their legitimacy to lead the nation deserves to be displayed for what it is, come what may.

“Israeli Spring” Cleaning Can’t Come Soon Enough: Bibi Waffles-As Always! What’s To Be Done? Commentary By Adina Kutnicki

WARNING: do not watch this on a full stomach!

Hamas Terrorist Funeral Gets An Unexpected Surprise Ending – “Live by the sword die by the sword” Islamic terrorism is famous for their stated love of death, destruction and the shedding of blood. They consider it a glorious honor to strap suicide bomb vests onto the bodies of men, women, children and anyone else who is stupid enough to sacrifice their lives to the moon-god Allah!

The BITTER FRUITS of a derelict leadership…years of appeasement left Hamas free to LITERALLY tunnel their way into Israel, even supplying the cement through “humanitarian” capitulation! It poured into Gaza under the guise of housing needs etc…Israel’s “eyes in the sky” knew better, but Bibi did nothing! Regardless, would any rational leader EVER agree to a “cease-fire” with said genocidal barbarians, regardless of anything else?

FROM the get go let’s agree to stipulate: an oral root canal is never fun. However, if left to fester, one cannot be shocked, shocked when said infected tooth rots and eventually requires an emergency extraction. In fact, one’s entire mouth will likely become inflamed, hence, a more invasive oral surgery will surely ensue without due deliberate care. Cause and effect.

SO too – if one stretches the analogy to its logical and rational geo-political outcome – Zionists tragically find Israel’s “matsav”, מצב, its national condition, in a rapidly deteriorating state, mostly due to PM Netanyahu’s constant appeasement.

Reports in Israeli media cite IAF pilots who bitterly complain that due to the strict limitations placed on their use of fire, they sometimes have to refrain from helping comrades facing terrorist fire on the ground.

Shai Hermesh, a resident of the Gaza Belt and a former MK for Kadima, said Wednesday that local residents have been hearing digging sounds from the ground for years, as Hamas terrorists dug their tunnels into Israel, but authorities preferred to hush up the matter.

INCONTROVERTIBLY, assorted Muslim Brotherhood-related terror groups bear the onus, but they do what Islam demands of them – to murder Jews! On the other hand, Israel’s leadership is mandated to step up and man up, regardless of any and all considerations, including evading massive pressure from Obama Inc and assorted international brayers.

So what does the Obama administration do when it looks like the Israeli military is being successful in disarming the terrorist organization Hamas?  The President of the United States orders Secretary Kerry to draft a cease-fire proposal that directs Israel to stand down while ignoring the militarization of Gaza and the terrorist attempts to kill Jews.  In short, the President of the United States, Israel’s biggest ally, tries to force Israel to commit suicide and lay down its arms in the face of overwhelming terrorist attacks.

REGARDLESS of this or that, a statesman is expected to rise to all challenges. Concomitantly, if unable to perform, said leader must be held to account. After all, when any individual is hired for a job there are requisite standards of performance. If unable to fulfill ones employment obligations, surely dismissal is an option, as it should be. And, as an aside, having been a business owner, this American-Israeli knows exactly what qualifies as acceptable levels of performance – or not. Kal VaChomer, קל וחומר, even more so, there most certainly should be stringent expectations for a national leader to meet! And, nothing, absolutely nothing comes before securing the safety of ones citizens, particularly when it comes to blitzing and tunneling!

WITHOUT a scintilla of a doubt, PM Netanyahu’s meandering from braggadocio and vacillation has emboldened not only Hamas, but all of Israel’s regional (and far off) foes. This has been his ongoing “strategy”, as he “ceases” Israel’s fire before the IDF is able to declare victory. Most egregiously, the military is more than capable of decimating Hamas. Paradoxically, even Israel’s enemies begrudgingly agree that the IDF is second to none. So, what the hell is going on?

YES, to perform to the max, one must first be let off the leash… even if among the top 10 elite forces in the world!!
The name means “Flotilla 13,” and their official motto is the same as the Israeli military: “Never Again,” in reference to the Holocaust. Their unofficial motto, as they like to joke, is “When the going gets tough, the Jews get pissed.”They are 1 of the 3 most elite Israeli special forces units, but Shayetet 13 is the unit most similar to the Delta Force. They specialize in hostage rescue and counter-terrorism, and because they live so close to a host of nations that seem bent on eradicating them, they are at all times ready in an instant to travel abroad and kill. They are very secretive, but of their missions publicized, the most notable include Operation Spring of Youth, in which they hunted down members of Black September in Beirut Lebanon and killed them, in revenge for the 1972 Munich massacre.
Apart from their firearms and heavy weapons training, they train extensively in Krav Maga, the national martial art of Israel, to which they endearingly refer as “Jew-jitsu.” It’s philosophy is based on the principle that in a real street fight no quarter will be asked or given. Fight to kill. Groin strikes are quite prevalent….

IN this regard, all the tech and acumen in the world is of no use, unless smoke and mirrors satisfies PM Netanyahu’s end game. Hmm.

BESIDES, as is said, the buck stops with PM Netanyahu. Consequentially, Israel’s ship of state has never been more unsteady, and he had two terms in office to turn it around. On the security front, the most important barometer of all, he has failed miserably. As reported, he nixed the idea of targeting Hamas’s MAIN leaders! Okey dokey.

CONSEQUENTLY, due to his lack of inner fortitude, in a nutshell, missiles are targeting the entire nation and tunnel warfare has become a strategic threat. He has wrought a national nightmare. There is no polite way to state this, and there is no need to sugarcoat it either. To the contrary.

FOR like clockwork, one can count on PM Netanyahu to dodge and weave, and there are many reasons for his spinelessness. In the main, whenever his handlers in Washington come knocking, he is unable to say – enough…maspik…מספיק!

DEBKAfile Intelligence – In the past 48 hours, Israel was pressured to accept its fifth “humanitarian” ceasefire in Gaza by President Barack Obama, US Secretary of State John Kerry, UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon and Chairman of the Palestinian Authority Mahmoud Abbas. Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu came close to folding, whereas Hamas saw the truce as applying only to Israel and therefore used it as a call to arms.

The slogan Israel broadcast: Quiet will be met with quiet and fire with fire, was seen by Hamas as a sign of Israel weakening.

This impression was confirmed on Sunday when the order went out to Israel troops to exercise restraint in the face of sporadic Hamas rocket fire, so as to give the truce a chance.
The Palestinian Islamists used it as a welcome respite for getting organized for the next stage of their onslaught.
Neither Israelis, Americans or Egyptians anticipated the radical Hamas launching an escalated assault on the first day of the Eid el-Fitr festival. In fact, by coordinating rocket, mortar and tunnel terror attacks, they inflicted on Israel one of the worst days of the three-week Operation Defensive Shield, claiming the lives of ten servicemen.

A grim omen of the deadly attacks ahead cam from a surge of rocket fire Monday noon, after a relatively quiet night. It targeted Gaza’s closest neighbors as well as Ashkelon and was followed by a salvo against the Lachish District and the towns of Netivot and Ofakim.

At around 4:30 p.m. Israel time, Hamas thought to give Israel a nasty surprise by sending one of its heavy Iranian Fajr-5 missiles (range 75 km) smashing into Tel Aviv. Instead of taking to the air, the missile plummeted to the ground in the nearby Shifa Hospital compound and exploded. Ten people were killed in the blast.

Half an hour later, Hamas directed mortar fire at the Eshkol District, where a group of soldiers was meeting. One hit its mark, killing four men and injuring nine.

The mortar attack was coordinated with another rocket barrage, this one directed at Ofakim and Mt. Carmel.
At around 6 p.m., a band of 5 Hamas terrorists came out of a tunnel near Kibbutz Nahal Oz They shot dead five defenders and were killed themselves in a firefight with the soldiers.

The tenth soldier was shot dead by Palestinian sniper in the Gaza Strip Monday morning

Their deaths raised to a total of 53 the IDF toll in the three-week counter-terror operation in the Gaza Strip.

Monday night, Israeli troops appeared to have started expanding the operation to the west. The inhabitants of Jebalya and Zeitun were told to leave their homes and, soon after, Israel artillery began shelling Ain Bureij.

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon and Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Benny Gantz made a joint TV appearance Monday, offering a pledge to continue the campaign against Hamas until all goals were achieved, however long it takes.
Netanyahu said: “Today we suffered terrorism from above and below.” The destruction of terror tunnels, he said, was an essential step towards the demilitarization of the Gaza Strip, which offered the only path to real peace.

Ya’alon said Israel would no longer a tolerate dialogue through terror tunnels and rockets. Hamas had been punished and would continue to be, he said, until it understood that Israel will never be brought to surrender.

Gen. Gantz: “As a human being, it is hard for me to accept civilian deaths,” he said, – unlike Hamas, which is solely responsible for 10 deaths at Shifa hospital, in whose grounds a missile aimed at Tel Aviv exploded prematurely.

The 24-hour “humanitarian ceasefire” was the stage for a major escalation in violence as Hamas strutted its stuff, fully confident of its ability to stand up to the next stage of the IDF operation. Will Israel’s war planners finally show iundivided resolve to win this momentous struggle against an expansionist Islamist terror movement?

NEVERTHELESS, no good will come from whining about Israel’s decrepit state of affairs. Yet, background info is a must for those who are left wondering: what in heavens name is going on in Israel, especially since Jews are supposed to be so smart and all?

Little is more emblematic of this genius, as this mind blowing VIDEO demonstrates – FIRE IN THE SKY: IRON DOME PROTECTS ISRAEL FROM HAMAS ROCKETS

Vocativ speaks to Dr. Danny Gold, the man known as the father of the Iron Dome missile defense system, and possibly the most popular person in Israel right now.
Folks, despite the massive amount of Jewish/Israeli genius, don’t confuse academic/tech smarts with (political) backbone and moral fortitude, coupled together with (jungle-like) street smarts. Worlds apart.

UPDATED DEBKAfile – A decision to push ahead for the next stage of Israel’s counter-terror offensive in the Gaza Strip was widely expected Monday night, July 28, after a day of deadly coordinated attacks by Hamas at the cost of 10 Israeli soldier’s lives. The IDF was braced ready to carry out the order for an operational response a soon as it came down from Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon to Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Benny Gantz.

But the order did not come. Netanyahu and Yaalon continued to pin their hopes on someone forcing Hamas to pretend to accept yet another unsustainable ceasefire, even though they are progressively losing their cabinet majority and people are growing increasingly impatient with their stand-and-wait stance. Successive polls show that support for pushing Hamas hard all the way is steadily rising and stands now in the region of 80-90 percent, while opposition to any ceasefire grows stiffer every day.

Yet, instead of going forward, Netanyahu and Ya’alon appeared Monday night to be clutching at a new straw: Palestinian Intelligence Chief Majid Faraj was due in Cairo Tuesday along with an unidentified Hamas representative to discuss a ceasefire with the Egyptian intelligence chief, after rejecting Cairo’s original proposal for failing to meet Hamas’ terms.
Official sources in Jerusalem continued to feed the media with the myth that Hamas is badly in need of truce, a misapprehension which keeps Israeli troops in the Gaza Strip from advancing. The artillery and air strikes the IDF conducted Monday evening in no way deterred Hamas from ramping up its spiral of violence yet again….

DEMONSTRABLY, there are prescriptive remedies and they are not mutually exclusive. In fact, they go hand in hand, yet timing is everything. One requires immediate implementation, another is an intermediate step and the third is an overhaul of a different nature. Let’s term it: Israel’s structural makeover.

Immediate Step:

LOOK no further than to Dr. Martin Sherman’s strategic prescriptions, and take them VERY seriously. He is the master of this domain. Most recently, he described at his Jerusalem Post column “Why Gaza Must Go”. Indeed.

Intermediate Step:

ONCE the actual smoke clears, it is mandatory for Zionists to exert their democratic rights in a massive way, like those who took to the streets during the civil rights struggle of the 1960’s. After all, what is more basic than the right to live free of missile fire and terror tunnels? In this regard, the current leadership must be forced to “retire”. They have failed the majority public. There is no other option. Period.

Third Step:

YET, in order to understand how Israel reached this critical national juncture – whereby a looming Iranian menace is dangling like the Sword of Damocles, and the most potent army in the Mid East is absolutely held back from beating Hamas into the ground – one must internalize the specific flaws inherent to Israel’s political structure. Suffice it to say, this American-Israeli’s op-ed on the subject should serve as initial guideposts: The Paradox of Israeli Politics: Vote Right, Get Left sufficiently illustrates how the voting public mistakenly believes that voting in a right-wing/nationalist party will actually effectuate the leadership’s course of action. Regardless, there are remedies, but the majority Zionist public must not only understand where the fault-lines lie, but be fed up enough to effectuate said changes.

NOW, while there is no doubt that the IDF operates heroically (and then some), the fact of the matter is that you know the political leadership has no intention of winning the war when top military brass (not those sitting in war rooms, but those on the ground) exhort:

IDF chiefs have asked the government for a clear decision on whether to expand their counter-terror operation in the Gaza Strip which entered its 22nd day Tuesday – or terminate it. This was reported by a senior IDF officer Tuesday. He put it this way: “Decide now whether we go in or out.”

DEBKAfile: This comment reflects the mounting criticism in the IDF high command of the government’s slowness in reaching a decision about the next stage of the operation against Hamas. This irresolution, they say, exposes the troops to danger and point to the 10 fatalities the IDF suffered Monday.

SIGNIFICANTLY, those who follow this blog also know that suffering fools is not tolerated, least of all when it comes to matters of life and death. Therefore, this American-Israeli will put it even more starkly: either they allow the troops to reach victory, or they better get them the hell out of (immediate) harm’s way. Otherwise, every hair harmed on their heads will end up at the (political) leadership’s doorstep, one way or another. Guaranteed. They will pay.

Some officers are saying that too much focus may have been placed by official spokesmen on the tunnel problem, possibly in order to distract attention from the extent to which the heads of government have held the armed forces back from gaining any serious advantages in the war on Hamas – or even terminating its rocket blitz…..

DO sear into your brains what these officers are (circumspectly) accusing the political leadership of! Charge sheet: grave malfeasance.

REALISTICALLY, the only military option forward is to adhere to Economic Minister Bennett’s stark words, himself a Reserve Officer in the General staff’s commando unit, Sayeret Matkal. Tragically for the nation of Israel, to PM Netanyahu’s everlasting (historical) shame, he is acting deaf, dumb and blind:“A senior Israeli officer warned that the on-again off-again truces place Israeli servicemen in harm’s way”……

Only a decisive victory will prevent the next war,” he wrote on Facebook.

“Radical Islam seeks to erase the Jewish state from the face of the earth,” he explained. “They do not seek a strip of land or a Palestinian state. Only our annihiliation. Khamenei in Iran. Nasrallah in Lebanon. Haniyeh in Gaza. Meshaal in Qatar. All of the jihadist arms that are waiting to see how we respond.

“The world watches from the sidelines, apathetic, even pointing its finger and moralizing, without understanding that this is all coming to them very soon. Providing theoretical justification for our right to self-defense but denouncing, in practice, our realization of that right.”

The tunnels, Bennett opined, are not the root of the problem. The root is “our enemies’ belief that they can win. That if they do not relent in their struggle, we will be worn out and run away from here. This hope must be uprooted. And it can be. By force.”

MOST significantly, the following is said with the utmost severity and with the heaviest heart, but its words are no less true: our sons (and daughters) are dedicated citizen soldiers, many of whom are combat Reservists. They are true “Lions of Zion”, be they religious or secular. Moreover, some soldiers hail from a tiny fraction of the minority Arab (Druse, Christian, Muslim) public, but their sacrifices are no less important.

AS such, particularly, in relation to the Reservists, they left their families and jobs to jump to the “call of duty” for weeks on end. This was done even with the knowledge that they may very well be saying goodbye to their loved ones for the last time!

IN this regard, there is no bigger crime than exposing them to unnecessary danger, one which is born out of political cowardice. Therefore, indeed, like a RAGING infection left unattended – in light of said critical care diagnosis – an uprooting via a multiplicity of levels, as described above, is the only nation-saving option.

TO wit, this American-Israeli defies any authentic Zionist to argue otherwise. Double dare…
