The Department of Homeland Security is supposed to have a main mission; to ensure the security of American citizens. Washington’s leadership continually exhorts that they are up to the task.

To the contrary.

NOT only is it a mismanaged behemoth, rendering it ineffective in the bureaucratic realm (let’s get real, most gov’t entities aren’t worth a hill of beans), but its focus has been perverted by a very radical regime. Thugs-in-suits. Pants suits too.

There is ample evidence to support said charges, with even more revelations in the offing. Appalling. Disgraceful. Ungrateful. More to the point, anti-American!

A non-radical leadership would intuit the following: yes, there are right-wing terrorists, so too are there left-wing terrorists. Has the left been the object of their witch hunt? Nope. Regardless, within any rational discourse, lumping the right-wing as synonymous with terror is more than irresponsible. It is inciting and inflammatory. It is banana republic politics at its core.

Most tellingly, DHS shuns – like the plague – any mention of terror in combination with Islamic/Muslim. Now, color this blogger none too bright, but which group is going all over the world screaming Allahu Akbar, as its adherents explode themselves in fealty to their death cult?

Hint : not your average right-wing patriot; whether Christian, Jewish or another non-explosive creed.

Therefore, it is entirely implausible ( no one can be that out of touch ) that the Director of DHS – and her surrogates – is clueless, regarding the above jihadists. Besides, if they are, surely they are incapable of protecting chicken coops, let alone a nation the size of America!

Is it then shocking to find out the latest news re DHS, that is, the Senate (quietly) released an explosive report, involving severe violations of practices and procedures at the agency? It shouldn’t be, at least to those paying attention.

‘Explosive findings about DHS operations in congressional report’

3 October 2012: “An explosive 141-page investigative report was quietly released just after midnight by the U.S. Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations, Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs is an indictment of the practices and procedures of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. While this report provides details of the investigation of “fusion centers,” or intelligence centers across the country under the control of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, it provides critical insight into the workings of the DHS itself.

The report, available here in PDF format, notes that a review by subcommittee investigators of 13 months of reports issued between April 1, 2009 and April 30, 2010 identified no reports that “…uncovered a terrorist threat, nor could [subcommittee investigators] identify a contribution…to disrupt an active terrorist plot.”

The report details a governmental agency led by upper management who are out of touch and out of control. Some explosive findings include:

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS)-assigned “detailees” or agents to fusion centers often issued shoddy and untimely reports that sometimes endangered citizens civil liberties and protections under the Privacy Act;

Of the 386 unclassified reports reviewed during this investigation, only 94 were found to relate “in some way” to potential terrorist activity, or the activities of a known or suspected terrorist. Of those 94 reports, the usefulness of those reports were deemed as “questionable.”

DHS intelligence reporters overstepped legal boundaries, including reporting on First Amendment-protected activities lacking a nexus to violence or criminality, and reporting on or improperly characterizing political, religious or ideological speech that is not explicitly violent or criminal.

The subcommittee investigation noted three specific reports that were based on inaccurate, false or misleading information, including the 2011 alleged Russian cyber-attack against an Illinois water plant, which never happened in the manner portrayed by the DHS.

Additionally, the subcommittee found false and misleading information about the alleged “anti-government, anti-Semitic and pro-Constitutional connections” of Jared Loughner in the shooting of Arizona Representative Gabrielle Giffords and 18 others. The subcommittee found that Loughner never had any such connections. Lastly, the subcommittee found that the very controversial 2009 Missouri Information Analysis Center Report, more commonly known as the MIAC Militia Report, was based on inaccurate and misleading information.

The DHS officials who filed useless, problematic or even “potentially illegal” reports generally faced no sanction for their actions. In fact, the subcommittee investigation was able to identify only one case in which an official with a history of serious reporting issues faced any consequences for his mistakes – he was required to attend an extra week of reporting training.

The Department of Homeland Security lacked accountability for the federal funds budgeted, even to the point of lying about the existence of some fusion centers;

The Department of Homeland Security leaders deliberately hid their internal assessment reports from congressional oversight, first denying that any reports even existed, then disputed sharing their findings with congressional investigators before ultimately providing committee investigators with the reports initially requested.

The Federal Emergency Management (FEMA), a component of DHS, distributed hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars to support state and local fusion centers yet could provide no accountability on how the funds were spent. The subcommittee investigation found that the total amount of federal dollars spent on fusion center activities from 2003 to 2011 ranged from $289 million to $1.4 billion. Much of the money was apparently used for surveillance equipment well outside the scope and intent of the analytical activity of the fusion centers.

Based on this investigative report alone, it is apparent that the Department of Homeland Security is mismanaged at the highest levels to the point of threatening the civil liberties of every American citizen while failing to uncover any domestic terror threat or plot.”

‘Obama Cabinet : Scary Roster of Ex-Radicals’ Diana West Highlights Attorney General’s Pro-Black Panther Stance…in the ’70’s –

“I tweeted recently about shocking news in the Daily Caller that Attorney General Eric Holder, as a Columbia University student and leader of the Student Afro-American Society (SAS), participated in the armed takeover of a vacant campus ROTC office. The takeover lasted five days in the spring of 1970. The online news site added: “Department of Justice spokeswoman Tracy Schmaler has not responded to questions from the Daily Caller about whether Holder himself was armed – and, if so, with what sort of weapon.”

Holder himself has acknowledged participating in a separate takeover of a college dean’s office until SAS demands were met – for starters, transformation of the ROTC office into the Malcolm X Lounge. The Columbia Daily Spectator of April 23, 1970, published the group’s reasons, including: “Columbia’s general contempt toward the beliefs of black students,” “Columbia’s lack of concern for the welfare of black people,” “the general racist nature of the American society” and “the right of black self-determination.”

SAS also demanded a “Black Institute” to “house a black studies program, an all-black admissions board, all-black faculty members, administration and staff,” the Daily Caller says, quoting African-American studies professor Stefan M. Bradley.

This program of black separatism dovetailed with the revolutionary movements of the time. “You must become a cohesive union,” radical lawyer William Kunstler told an enthusiastic student audience at Columbia on April 8, 1970, “who will achieve by any means necessary the end, or at least the halt, of racism, private property and the domination of one sex over another.”

The SAS got its Malcolm X Lounge, which student Barack Obama would frequent a decade later. The rapid introduction of politically conceived, takeover-forced minority studies departments at Columbia and elsewhere followed, de facto segregating campuses to this day.

That same semester, Holder’s Afro-American student group also had declared its “full support of the Black Panther Party as a vanguard organization for the liberation” of black people, the Columbia paper reported on March 12, 1970. Earlier, New York City police had arrested 21 Black Panther Party members, charging them with plotting to bomb various New York establishments, including a department store and a police station. The SAS, other campus revolutionary groups and leftist professors were quick to sponsor “teach-ins” and raise bail for the “Black Panther 21.”

Suddenly, Holder’s “Black Panther blind spot,” as the Washington Times has called the attorney general’s failures to prosecute black radicals, is no longer such a mystery. Holder sympathized with the Panthers then; he seems to sympathize with them now.

So about that tweet of mine: “Holder’s radical past comes out. Jaw-dropping. Even lawless campus thuggery no bar to becoming AG. (Weather Underground’s Bill) Ayers 4 SecState?” Then, seven delayed-reaction minutes later, it dawned: “Oh, I forgot – we already have an old Panther supporter as SecState!”

Sure enough, back in the spring of 1970, while Eric Holder (Columbia ’73) was occupying buildings and supporting Black Panthers in New York City, Hillary Rodham (Yale Law School ’73) was actively monitoring and supporting the defense of eight Black Panthers accused of murder and torture in New Haven. Quite a nexus of revolutionaries, the Obama Cabinet.

Anyone else from the barricades? Too old for the New Left, Defense Secretary Leon Panetta nonetheless has leftist credentials, including a long-term association with Hugh De Lacy, a Communist Party member and contact of notorious communist agents. As a U.S. representative, Panetta wanted most-favored-nation status for the USSR and the Eastern bloc, and he opposed Ronald Reagan’s anti-Sandinista policy. Not surprisingly, the future CIA-director-turned-Pentagon-chief was also supportive of the Institute for Policy Studies, a pro-Soviet think tank in Washington.

Yes, this is old, old news. But have these top Obama administration leaders at Justice, State and the Pentagon ever disavowed or even explained their affinities for violent revolutionaries and sworn enemies of the Constitution? Have they ever been asked? No.

This epic blackout struck me anew with the release this same week, also by the Daily Caller, of unedited video of a racially demagogic speech then-Sen. Obama gave in 2007. Listening to the man who became president rationalize the L.A. riots was bad enough, but the narrative of racist federal neglect he presented to his black audience was disturbing. It sounded so much like themes his attorney general and secretary of state supported long ago as student radicals – nothing like Obama’s 2008 campaign slogans of “post-racial” and nonpartisan “change.”

At age 51, Barack Obama is certainly too young to have been a 1960s student militant, but he was mentored by a coterie of bona fide revolutionaries, including communist organizer Frank Marshall Davis and Weather Underground leader Bill Ayers. Then, of course, there is Obama’s black separatist minister for 20 years, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, who, by the way, gets a generous shout-out in the revisited Obama speech. After Wright’s animus toward the USA became common knowledge – for example, his notorious “God damn America” sermon – Obama famously cut official ties with Wright, but that just seems like window dressing. It all is.

“The Innocence of Muslims and the spark of an Islamic revolution can be linked to a handful of culprits. The mystery is unlocked when we review the original YouTube page of one named Sam Bacile (the same name attributed to the filmmaker at one time). Bacile forgot to cover his tracks, leaving two links to three very crucial videos. On the “Feed” tab are two of those videos.

One features a Muslim named Wisam Abdul Waris, uploaded to YouTube on September 9th (linked from the Bacile page no later than September 10th). Wisam’s video was uploaded to Bacile’s page because Bacile commented on the video. Yet, when one attempts to view the comments, all have been scrubbed and the comment feature disabled, though the comment allegedly made by Sam Bacile appears on the “Feed” tab, just above the video.

The second video on the Sam Bacile “Feed” tab is none other Nader Bakkar, from as far back as May of 2012. This video was added to Bacile’s YouTube page as a “Favorite” about one week prior to the embassy attack in Cairo on 9/11.

The third video is on the “Likes” tab of the Sam Bacile YouTube page. It consists of an interview—in Arabic—with an English speaking western woman who converted to Islam.

Why would a supposed Christian filmmaker “like” this video?

Who are these two named Wisam Abdul Waris and Nader Bakkar?

Waris and Bakkar, the two main interests on Sam Bacile’s YouTube channel, were the two men we identified back on September 13th as being the two primary culprits behind the Cairo riots on 9/11.

These two should have been conspicuously absent, all along, from all western media narratives. For example, days after the attacks in Egypt and Libya, Reuters reported an incomplete narrative that the “flashpoint” of the violence was when Sheikh Khalid Abdallah on Al-Nas TV in Egypt aired portions of the film Innocence of Muslims.

The clip Reuters is referring to (uploaded September 9th) was a TV interviewon al-Nas, where Sheikh Khalid Abdallah interviewed an activist named Mohammad Hamdy, who was engaged in a blatant form of guilt by association, creating a link between the Copts in Egypt and the Copts in the Diaspora. He blamed all Copts worldwide, not just the ones involved in the film.

Then came these two on September 9th, Wisam Abdul Waris, a Salafist whoannounced the formation of a new organization, the Coalition of Dar al-Hekma, an activist group wanting to enforce blasphemy laws worldwide and especially in the West. Nader Bakkar was the head of the Nour Salafist party, who gladly announced his new membership in the coalition on the day these two condemned the film.

Contrary to what Reuters reported, what caused the riots was when Waris called in to Khalid to promote them. Khalid simply asked for the date and accepted the invitation. The details and evidence of how the riots erupted by these two was explained here. The rest is history.

The conclusion is that all evidence reveals a small circle of predators—the filmmaker and two individuals prominently displayed on the Sam Bacile YouTube channel.

Wisam and Bakkar planned and executed the riots.

But this is not the rest of the story.

SCAPEGOATS
These predators wanted scapegoats. Arab media continues to look for someone to blame for Innocence of Muslims. Al-Ahram, the most prominent newspaper out of Egypt—and a litany of other Arab media, ignores these predators and insists that three Copts are to blame:

Fingers still point to the three names who make up the sides of the dark triangle behind the film…

…says al-Ahram newspaper, adding that…

One of the most important sides of this triangle is Father Zakaria Boutros.

Boutros’s crime was that he was involved in al-Hayat, a ministry in which he openly debates Islamic doctrine. His critique of Islam earned him the title as the most hated man in Egypt.

The other most wanted, according to Al-Ahram, was “Joseph Nasrallah”, whom it identifies as the…

…owner of a TV program called The Way and runs a media organization and Christian charity in Los Angeles, called Media for Christ.

When it came to Nasrallah, Al-Ahram reported…

200 people besieged his family’s home in Giza to kill his mother and his two brothers.

While thugs can pinpoint Nasrallah’s family in Egypt, it remains a mystery that no one was able to pinpoint the relatives of scapegoat number three – the filmmaker himself – despite his statements that the funding for the film came from his wife’s family in Egypt.

Several predatory Islamic websites have a history of posting details that included photos of homes, documents, mapping and even home loan documents while asking other Muslims to help hunt down activist Copts living in the Diaspora.

The Copts are the best scapegoats to set up for serious trouble.

While the filmmaker is put on trial in the United States, the system gives free reign to terrorists and predators who are not simply crying ‘fire’ in a theatre; they are calling first to burn it.

There is apparently no illegality in disseminating information that solicits the murder of Copts who are blamed, regardless of facts. Flimsy evidence is used to make any case that these critiques of Islam deserve execution via mob rule.

Al-Ahram even recognizes that a man by the name of “Ahmed Hamdy” was behind Innocence of Muslims, but suddenly this Ahmed Hamdy must be a Copt disguised as Muslim. Why? Al-Ahram explains:

During this period, Zakaria Boutros created a Paltalk chat room on the Internet in 2002 to raise suspicions against Islam and the Koran, which sparked outrage in Egypt and the Muslim world. This prompted Pope Shenouda to issue a decision to excommunicate him from the church. A revelation from a human rights activist [Khalid al-Masri] stated: ‘One day a person claiming to be a Muslim named Ahmed Hamdy entered Zakaria Boutros’ Paltalk room and requested a debate with Zakaria in front of all visitors… Zakaria Boutros agreed and this person, who claims to be Ahmed Hamdy declared his conversion publicly to Christianity before all visitors in the room.

According to al-Masri, this Ahmed Hamdy is the filmmaker:

After the uproar caused by Nakoula’s film, he [Nakoula] contacted the American Radio Sawa and what we found as researchers at the National Center was that the voice in the interview with Radio Sawa was the same voice of Ahmed Hamdy who debated Zakaria Boutros in his Paltalk room. This is the same person who claimed during his contact with the American Associated Press that he was an Israeli Jew named Sam Basile and what followed was that the Agency [Associated Press] tracked his phone to discover his name was Nakoula Basile Nakoula, revealed his criminal record, and found the case of bank fraud in which he was sentenced, fined $750,000 dollars, and not permitted to use the Internet for five years.

Al-Masri stated that the voice compared from that dialogue with Boutros in 2002 was matched to the same voice of the man who claims to be Nakoula during his interview with Sawa in September of 2012.

Al-Masri concludes:

Ahmed Hamdy was just a pseudonym and was not a Muslim; he was a Copt from the Diaspora named Elijah Basile, also known as Nakoula Bacile Nakoula, director and writer of the screenplay [Innocence of Muslims].

Though no one was able to confirm which of the names the filmmaker used is his real name or even what his real name is, this revelation of a switch from Ahmed Hamdy to Nakoula only came after the film became known. Court documents do reveal that the filmmaker used the name Ahmed Hamdy extensively while he was embezzling money with my first cousin, Eiad Salameh and was captured during Operation Mountain Express, which would become a huge investigation into pseudoephedrine-dealing that was linked tomoney going to Hezbollah, a terrorist organization.

While no evidence has yet surfaced that pinpoints the true name or origin of the man behind Innocence of Muslims, the media continues the narrative that a religious Copt is solely responsible for the whole mess and oh, by the way, that Copt is now in jail.

The BBC reported that the filmmaker’s supposed church membership in the U.S. isn’t as it has been portrayed, quoting the Bishop of the Coptic Diocese of Los Angeles as saying the filmmaker “disappears for many months” and “…is not a regular member.”

Why he sporadically visited a Coptic church remains unknown. Sawa (Arab radio) aired an interview in which the alleged filmmaker stated that he is not even interested in Christianity, adding that some day he would treat Christianity and Judaism the same way he did in the Innocence of Muslims. He made clear that he is a critic of all religions and that his favorite critic was Salman Rushdi. “What happened to the Iranian Salman Rushdi is what inspired me,” stated the filmmaker to the Arabic radio Sawa.

Why then would the anti-religion filmmaker work in Zakaria Boutros’ ministry? We were even able to obtain an old photo never published in any western media. The man on the far left is identified as the filmmaker; Boutros is seen standing in the center (click on image to enlarge).

We reached out to Boutros in order to help determine if this person is Ahmed Hamdy, whom Boutros supposedly interviewed at his Paltalk in 2002. Is this the man who claimed to have converted from Islam to Christianity and if so, was Boutros simply set up?

Unfortunately, Zakaria has not responded to our requests.

It’s worth noting that several pseudonyms the filmmaker was using belong to real people who do exist. I was able to find one named Sobhy Bushra, a former associate of Boutros who runs a ministry and travels to the Holy Land. Bushra stated that he knew everyone, including my cousin Eiad Salameh. He stated that he was simply ministering to the filmmaker in the Los Angeles area and had attempted to help him mend his ways. He stated that the filmmaker said he was Copt who used the name Nakoula Bacile Yousef Nakoula from Bahira in Egypt. I had asked him about Eiad Salameh and he stated that Eiad traveled from Bethlehem to meet with Bushra in Jerusalem recently. Eiad has been connecting to the Copts for years of scheming in California.

Whether the filmmaker was Copt or Muslim in origin makes little difference. It is not uncommon for Islamists to find, use and recruit bad apples. It is easy to find so-called secular Christians who could care less about the Christian faith, or who disagree with Christian support for Israel and even use their hatred to advance terrorist causes. Many Copts are no lovers of Israel. Al-Hayat, where Boutros served, has a disdain for Israel.

Hilarion Capucci, a Catholic archbishop is a case-in-point. While Capucci hated Israel, he was a friend of Eiad Salameh. “Once upon a time, Hollywood producers and studios routinely consulted with Christian pastors and church denominations for script approval on virtually every new film.

Today, they are more likely to consult with Muslim imams and Islamist pressure groups to determine if their movies are appropriate for release.

A new report from the Express Tribune, with the International Herald Tribune, last week said filmmakers working on projects depicting the U.S. Navy SEAL mission to Pakistan to kill terrorist Osama bin Laden are having second thoughts.

“Filmmakers in Hollywood are terrified of inciting further retribution against America over a string of new films showing the U.S. mission,” the report said.

The report said at least “one fearful studio has asked an Islamic cleric to vet its script.”

“Senior executives at another studio have entered into intense briefing sessions with the U.S. State Department officials to minimize or expunge any content which otherwise might be viewed as offensive.”

The report follows the violence that erupted throughout the Muslim world on the anniversary of 9/11, purportedly over an extended trailer for an anti-Islam film called “Innocence of Muslims.”

The White House blamed the video for inciting Muslims who carried out the terror attack that killed the U.S. ambassador to Libya and three other Americans.

The film also has been cited by various Muslim leaders as a reason that Americans should curb First Amendment rights and impose penalties on people who defame Islam.

The Express Tribune report said the concern has gotten so high that several current film projects are under scrutiny.

Intelligence sources say the Benghazi attack that killed Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three others was an orchestrated terror attack, probably by an al-Qaida affiliate, and had nothing to do with the film.

Nevertheless, the Express report said, filmmakers are worried that fundamentalists could target cinemas where the films are playing, with one admitting: “We are even asking if we dare release anything on this subject.”

Hollywood, which in its early years often reflected the values of mainstream Christian faith in America, in recent years has taken a turn away from that practice, releasing movies that uninhibitedly mock Christianity, such as “The Last Temptation of Christ,” “The Da Vinci Code,” Bill Maher’s “Religulous,” “The Golden Compass” and “Hounddog.”

Ted Baehr, founder of Movieguide, told WND that there are all sorts of influences in Hollywood, both good and bad.

His organization regularly offers advice about how to treat Christians and Christianity accurately on the screen.

“We do as much as we can,” he said.

His organization also regularly recognizes the faith components of films and honors the best at its annual Faith & Values Awards Gala.

He also monitors the industry, reporting regularly that movies with wholesome family values usually produce the best financial return.

But Islamic interests also have been observing Hollywood. It was a little over a year ago that the AP reported the Muslim Public Affairs Council launched a series of workshops to try to influence movie makers.

Another project was called Muslims on Screen and Television.

“The idea is to really give Muslims an avenue to tell our stories. It’s as simple as that. There’s a curiosity about Islam and a curiosity about who Muslims are – and a lot of the fear that we’re seeing comes from only hearing one story or these constant negative stories,” Deana Nassar, MPAC’s Hollywood liaison, told AP.

AP reporter Gillian Flaccus wrote, “With any luck, Hollywood will listen.”

She quoted Ahmos Hassan, a Muslim-American talent manager who has been in the business for more than two decades, saying the industry has taken more interest in telling “authentic” Muslim stories in recent years.

“There’s a demand for Muslim stories, but whether it’s Muslim writers or not depends on the talent they bring to the table,” Hassan, who owns Chariot Management, told AP. “They need to bring that to the industry … and I think the industry is open to it now, more so than any time before.”

The groups already have offered consultation to TV series such as “Bones,” “24,” “Lie to Me” and “Aliens in America.”

Earlier this year, the New York Post reported a story that reflected some of the confusion in Hollywood about faith.

Sean Stone, son of director Oliver Stone, reported he converted to Islam, but finds it compatible with Judaism and Christianity.

You got that? Jews recaptured their holiest site during the 1967 ‘Six Day’ war, a pre-emptive war for survival, as Arab armies were on the cusp of waging a war of annihilation. MANY Jewish lives were sacrificed, to regain control of Jerusalem and reclaim The Temple Mount. So, what did Israel’s leadership do to reward Jewish heroes, as well as to punish Arab aggression? Their reactions to victory were decidedly abnormal. There is no way around this historical fact. Judge for yourselves. How many times does this blogger have to assert that leftism is a mental disease? Too many.

Back to the present…and where appeasement always leads – to the subjugation of Jewish rights; the humiliation of Jewish souls; and the elevation of the threatening minority, in their all consuming quest to subdue the majority. ‘5 Nabbed, Feiglin Held For Praying On The Temple Mount’ – Jerusalem Post

“Police spokesman confirms the Likud activist prostrated himself on the ground and began chanting, in violation of the law.

Five people were arrested for a confrontation on the Temple Mount on Tuesday morning during Likud activist Moshe Feiglin’s monthly trip to Judaism’s holiest site.

Towards the end of Feiglin’s visit, a group of Muslims surrounded the Jewish worshipers and started yelling “Alahu Akbar.”

Police immediately responded to the incident and separated the two groups. Upon searching one of the Arabs they discovered he was carrying a concealed knife, which is illegal on the Temple Mount. Police arrested three Arabs for disturbing the peace, and one of them for also carrying an illegal weapon.

Police also arrested two Jews for praying, which is “in violation of the customs of the site,” according to deputy police spokeswoman Shlomit Bajshi. Feiglin was detained during the visit, though not arrested. Police also removed him from the site.

Praying out loud or using any type of traditional prayer objects such as tefillin, tallit, or prayer books is forbidden for Jews at Judaism’s holiest site due to tensions with Muslims worshipers at the Al Aqsa Mosque.

National police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said Feiglin prostrated himself on the ground and began chanting, in violation of the customs of the area.

Feiglin ascends to the Temple Mount on the 19th of every Hebrew month. This month the 19th falls on a Friday, the Muslim day of prayer, when the Temple Mount is closed to non-Muslim visitors. Feiglin went up to the Temple Mount on Tuesday with a number of additional supporters, as is his usual custom.

Tuesday’s confrontation did not require police to close the Temple Mount to visitors, and the rest of the day proceeded without incident. Rosenfeld said the police already have an increased presence in the Old City due to the Sukkot holiday.

In February, police prevented Feiglin from entering the Temple Mount after accusing him and other right-wing activists of attempting to disrupt order.

A flyer aimed at members of the Likud Central Committee urged thousands of supporters to join Feiglin at the Temple Mount. “Purify the site from the enemies of Israel who stole the land, and build the Third Temple on the ruins of the mosques,” the flyer read.

Insp-Gen Nisso Shaham, who was Jerusalem police chief at the time, closed the Temple Mount to all non-Muslim visitors on February 12 morning as a result of the announcement”.

‘Matchmaker’ Rev. Jeremiah Wright ‘provided cover for gays’

NEW YORK – “Ten years ago, the New York Times reported on a growing underground subculture in the black community known as Down Low, comprised largely of men who secretly engage in homosexual activity while living “straight” lives in public.

It’s within that subtext that opposition researchers for Hillary Clinton’s 2008 presidential campaign began investigating rumors that Rev. Jeremiah Wright was running a “matchmaking service” for members of his Trinity United Church of Christ known as the Down Low Club, which included Barack Obama.

Over the past several months, WND investigators have interviewed a number of members of the church who claim the president benefited from Wright’s efforts to help black men who engage in homosexual activity appear respectable in black society by finding them a wife.

The 2003 New York Times story, “Double Lives on the Down Low,” said that though many black men reject “a gay culture they perceive as white and effeminate,” they “have settled on a new identity, with its own vocabulary and customs and its own name: Down Low.”

The Times said that while “there are black men who are openly gay, it seems that the majority of those having sex with men still lead secret lives, products of a black culture that deems masculinity and fatherhood as a black man’s primary responsibility – and homosexuality as a white man’s perversion.”

The Down Low Club at Trinity “doesn’t have meetings, and it isn’t like the Rotary Club,” a source identified for this article as “Carolyn” explained to a WND investigator in Chicago.

“It was more that Wright served as a matchmaker,” said Carolyn, a 20-year member of Trinity who has played a role in church administration and knows the Obamas personally.

“He kept his eye on the young guys coming up in Trinity,” she said, “and if he spotted someone that acted or looked gay, then Wright would give them kind of a guidance counselor-type direction on how to keep down low – how to do the things they wanted to do, but then also getting married and looking ‘respectable’ – being part of black society.”

To Trinity insiders, the Down Low Club was simply known as “the program.”

“That’s the terminology. At Trinity, you’re urged to ‘get with the program,’” explained a male beneficiary of the Down Low Club. “What that means is it’s OK to go ahead and have sex with men, just as long as you ‘get with the program’ and marry a woman, somebody no straight guy would want to marry.”

The wife, the Down Low Club member explained, is “your ‘beard,’ your cover – so you can look like you’re living a straight life, even though you’re not.”

The male source was a “computer consultant” who claims not to know “scratch” about computers. But “getting with the program” at Trinity meant he could keep living a “gay” life and receive lots of computer consulting work thrown his way by Trinity, as long as he was willing to marry an unattractive woman who otherwise might have ended up a lonely spinster with no means to provide for living.

Carolyn explained that for many black families, attending Trinity was a way out of poverty.

“Trinity was a chance to network,” she said. “The stuff preached was hateful, but about 70 percent of those who go there ignore the radical rhetoric and just trying to get ahead.”

Carolyn said Trinity “helped a lot of blacks get successful and connected.”

“That’s what Wright did for Obama,” she claimed. “He connected Obama in the community, and he helped Obama hide his homosexuality.”

Openly homosexual author and commentator Keith Boykin, a former White House adviser to President Bill Clinton, mentions Obama’s former pastor, Wright, on pages 264-265 of his 2005 book “Beyond the Down Low: Sex, Lies, and Denial in Black America.” While Boykin doesn’t refer to the Down Low Club by name, he regards Wright as among a small group of ministers who are “coming to grips with sexuality and opening up a dialogue with heterosexuals, homosexuals, and bisexuals in the pews.”

Chicago-based author, businessman, speaker and HIV/AIDS activist J.L. King wrote a controversial book in 2005 called “On the Down Low: A Journey into the Lives of ‘Straight’ Black Men who Sleep with Men.”

He was a guest on Oprah Winfrey’s Chicago-based TV show in 2004, which described him this way: “J.L. King had a life most would envy. He married his high school sweetheart, had two healthy children and was on the fast track to success. But, unbeknownst to his family and friends, he had a dark secret—he was living on the down low.”

Carolyn and the other members of Trinity who provided statements corroborating her testimony were insistent that WND conceal their identities as a condition of being interviewed.

“I’m still scared to discuss any of this,” Carolyn said.

“At Trinity, if you even hint at talking about Obama being gay, you are reminded of our dear departed choir director,” she said. “He was killed, and it wasn’t a robbery. The Christmas presents weren’t touched. The TV was not taken, nothing in the apartment was missing.”

Carolyn’s reference was to Donald Young, the 47-year-old homosexual choirmaster at Trinity who died of multiple gunshot wounds in his Chicago apartment Dec. 24, 2007.

Young’s murder was preceded Nov. 17, 2007, with the execution-style murder of 25-year-old Larry Bland, another black gay member of Trinity United. He also was murdered in his home, dying of multiple gunshot wounds, according to his death certificate.

Just two days after the murder of Young, a third openly “gay” member of Wright’s church, Nate Spencer, reportedly died of septicemia, pneumonia and AIDS.

Sensational charges

As WND reported last month, a prominent member of Chicago’s homosexual community claims Obama’s participation in the “gay” bar and bathhouse scene was so well known that many who were aware of his lifestyle were shocked when he ran for president and finally won the White House.

In April, WND reported a federal judge dismissed a libel case against Larry Sinclair, a homosexual who claimed Obama’s 2008 presidential campaign had paid to rig a polygraph test regarding Sinclair’s sensational charge that he had sex and used cocaine twice with Obama while Obama was an Illinois state senator. Sinclair tells his story in “Barack Obama & Larry Sinclair: Cocaine, Sex, Lies & Murder.”

WND also reported former radical activist John Drew has said that when he met Obama when Obama was a student at Occidental College, he thought Obama and his then-Pakistani roommate were “gay” lovers.

In addition, rumors have swirled around Obama’s relationship with his personal aide and former “body man,” Reggie Love, who resurfaced on the eve of the Republican National Convention to support his old boss. Love resigned from the White House in November 2011 after compromising photographs of him as a college student received wide circulation.

WND also has documented in two separate articles, here and here, that Obama wore a gold band on his wedding ring finger from the time he attended Occidental College through his student days at Harvard Law School.

Shocking phone call

Sinclair gave an affidavit to the Chicago Police Department regarding contacts he says he had with Young just prior to Young’s murder.

According to Sinclair’s affidavit, published in its entirety beginning on page 56 of his book, he contacted Obama’s presidential campaign in September 2007. Sinclair says he requested that Obama correct claims he made about when he stopped abusing drugs to reflect use of crack cocaine during their sex encounters in November 1999.

During the 2008 presidential campaign, Obama had stated famously he stopped using marijuana and cocaine in college, implying his drug abuse ended when he had completed his first two years of college at Occidental in Los Angeles.

Sinclair explained that when he made contact with the Obama campaign in September 2007, he provided callback numbers, in case the campaign wanted to get in touch with him.

Then, in late September or early October 2007, as Sinclair stated in his affidavit, he received a call from a male identifying himself as “Mr. Young,” who stated he was responding to calls Sinclair had made to the Obama campaign.

“This first call shocked me in that this ‘Mr. Young’ asked me why I had not asked Senator Obama to disclose sexual encounters I had with Mr. Obama in 1999,” Sinclair’s affidavit reads. “I was shocked as I had never mentioned to the campaign or anyone working for the campaign any sexual encounters. The call ended with Mr. Young stating I would hear from someone in a few days.”

Sinclair claims it was in a second call from “Mr. Young” that he began to suspect the man had been sexually intimate with Obama. Sinclair said he drew that conclusion “by the tone of the conversation” and by its “sexual nature.”

In late October 2007, Sinclair received a text message from “Mr. Young” stating Young “was intimately involved with Senator Obama and that Obama was discussing with him and his pastor how to publicly acknowledge Senator Obama’s drug use in 1999.”

The text message also indicated Obama wanted to make sure Sinclair had not discussed the sexual encounters or drug use with any media at that time.

In November 2007, Sinclair received a second text message from “Mr. Young,” advising him that Obama would publicly correct his statement as to the last time he used drugs and that Sinclair did not need to concern himself with publicly disclosing it.

Then, in early December 2007, Sinclair received his last contact with “Mr. Young,” with Young making it clear Obama had no intention of acknowledging publicly his use of crack cocaine in 1999.

After Young was murdered, Sinclair had several contacts with Young’s family.

“In several telephone conversations with his sisters, brothers, nieces and others, I was reassured that the family of Donald Young believed he was murdered to protect Barack Obama,” Sinclair wrote. “It also became clear, right from the start that members of the Young family were truly fearful of speaking out publicly, to this day, they fear for their own personal, physical safety.”

On July 17, 2010, the supermarket tabloid The Globe published an interview with Norma Jean Young, the 76-year-old mother of the slain choirmaster, in which she expressed fear that her son was murdered to protect Obama.

“What was the cause of my son’s death?” Norma Jean Young asked in the Globe interview. “I’m very suspicious that it may have been related to Obama. Donald and Obama were very close friends. Whatever went on with this is very private. I am suspicious of a cover-up!”

She insisted there is “more to the story,” calling on Chicago police to ramp up their investigation.

“I do believe they are shielding somebody or protecting somebody,” she told The Globe.

Asked who would benefit from a cover-up, Norma Jean Young said, “It could be anyone, including Obama.”

Shortly after the Globe interview was published, Norma Jean Young left Chicago and lived for a while in Peoria, Ill. Her current residence is unknown.

The murders of Donald Young and Larry Bland remain today open cases of unsolved homicide.”

‘Univision Breaks New Details of Obama Admin’s Fast and Furious Cover-Up‘

“The biggest, bloodiest scandal in U.S. presidential history?

On Sunday night, Spanish-language station Univision— one of the only networks to provide critical coverage of President Obama’s failures in office instead of cream-puff interviews — broke open the Fast and Furious investigation, revealing new evidence of weapons smuggling and displaying shocking new images of the bloody aftermath of the government-supported gun-smuggling program.

The Univision report undermines the integrity of the recently released DOJ inspector general report on Operation Fast and Furious, already heavily criticized as an attempt to whitewash criminal activity within the Obama administration.

The hour-long Univision report revealed the existence of another 57 guns recovered by Mexican authorities, including some of those used in the mass-murder at a party just one year after Obama’s inauguration:

On January 30, 2010, a commando of at least 20 hit men parked themselves outside a birthday party of high school and college students in Villas de Salvarcar, Ciudad Juarez. Near midnight, the assassins, later identified as hired guns for the Mexican cartel La Linea, broke into a one-story house and opened fire on a gathering of nearly 60 teenagers. Outside, lookouts gunned down a screaming neighbor and several students who had managed to escape. Fourteen young men and women were killed, and 12 more were wounded before the hit men finally fled.

Indirectly, the United States government played a role in the massacre by supplying some of the firearms used by the cartel murderers. Three of the high caliber weapons fired that night in Villas de Salvarcar were linked to a gun tracing operation run by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), according to a Mexican army document obtained exclusively by Univision News.

These 57 recovered weapons discovered are in addition to the 122 weapons referenced in a congressional report. It is chilling to learn that each weapon recovered was dumped at the scene of a crime by cartel members who had attempted, and in most cases completed, the crime of first-degree murder. It is even more disturbing to know that American Department of Justice officials knew that most of the weapons walked over the border would only be discarded by the police and recovered by Mexican authorities after they were used in a crime, and that they were indifferent to the body count being racked up, callously noting that to make an omelet, eggs had to be broken.

Univision pulled no punches in describing the horrors of the Villas de Salvarcar massacre, even showing a graphic pool of blood reminiscent of the iconic Normandy D-Day invasion scene in the classic World War II film The Big Red One.

The report also shed more light on a fact that many in the media have attempted to ignore — namely, that Operation Fast and Furious was not the only federal gun-walking operation providing weapons to criminals at this time.

Operation Castaway, run with the same bloody-minded approach as Operation Fast and Furious, provided more than 1,000 guns to cartels via the Tampa ATF. Those guns leaked out across Honduras, Colombia, and Venezuela, according to the U.S. veteran who smuggled some of the weapons, Hugh Crumpler:

“When the ATF stopped me, they told me the guns were going to cartels,” Hugh Crumpler, a Vietnam veteran turned arms trafficker, told Univision News. “The ATF knew before I knew and had been following me for a considerable length of time. They could not have followed me for two months like they said they did, and not know the guns were going somewhere, and not want for that to be happening.”

Univision also uncovered evidence of weapons being smuggled from Texas: two gun-smuggling programs similar to Fast and Furious are rumored to have put thousands of additional weapons in the cartels’ hands in operations larger than Fast and Furious. U.S. Senator John Cornyn has repeatedly pressed the Obama administration for information about the documented trail of weapons coming from two Texas ATF areas of operations. The Department of Justice has denied the existence of such programs, despite the physical evidence of guns recovered suggesting otherwise. While the Univision report focused on guns the DOJ ran to Mexican cartels, there is enough evidence to suggest other Obama administration-sanctioned gun-walking plots arming domestic criminal gangs, such as the so-called Gangwalker plot in Indiana, which supplied Chicago street gangs, and similar rumored operations in California, North Carolina, northern Florida, and elsewhere, which provided weapons to gangs in U.S. cities. Nor has the Univision report focused on weapons that have found their way to cartels via the State Department or the Department of Defense.

Ever since Mike Vanderboegh and David Codrea broke the story of Obama administration gun-walking, critics have been noting that this is the biggest, bloodiest scandal in U.S. presidential history.

Despite a concerted effort by the mainstream media to ignore the story and the Obama administration’s attempt to stonewall investigators, this story seems to be catching fire.

The first presidential debate between embattled President Barack Obama and Republican challenger Mitt Romney will occur Wednesday. You can rest assured the moderator Jim Lehrer will not ask questions about the bloody gun-smuggling plot. It will be interesting to see, however, if Romney himself is willing to bring the scandal out onto a stage so public that even the media can’t ignore it.”

‘Egypt confronts Israel with 6,000 Sinai Islamists as an Approved militia’

“To keep the truce with the Islamist terrorist networks in Sinai in place, while avoiding a large-scale military operation to suppress them, Egypt is now releasing dozens of jailed Salafist gunmen in batches every few days, so feeding the Islamists a steady supply of reinforcements. Cairo is also in negotiation with Bedouin tribal elders to grant a body of 6,000 Al-Qaeda-linked Salafi gunmen the status of an approved, independent militia. Armed with up-to-date Egyptian weapons, this militia is to be charged with responsibility for maintaining security in the peninsula.
This may be a neat way out for Egypt and let the Morsi government off the hook of grappling with the violent Islamist networks infesting Sinai. But it leaves Israel squarely face to face with a whole new terrorist outfit which has the freedom to choose between operating in the service of Al Qaeda or Cairo – or playing both sides.
Israeli security circles on the southern front familiar with the Sinai security situation explain that the Egyptian army’s claim Monday, Sept. 3 that it pulled “another 20 tanks” out of the peninsula, marking the tail end of its putative counter-terror military offensive, was therefore the reverse of welcome news for Israel.
All the same, out of certain diplomatic considerations, Israelis officials are collaborating with the US and Egypt in drawing a veil over this dangerous downturn in security along its southwestern border.

Thursday, Aug. 30 Defense Minister Ehud Barak said: ”The Egyptians must combat terror and if they need to bring extra military strength into Sinai [for this purpose], we should let them.”
As he spoke, Egyptian spokesmen claimed the tanks, illegally deployed in breach of the peace treaty with Israel, were being withdrawn at the end of a “successful military offensive” to root out the terrorists.
This statement, say DEBKAfile’s counter-terror sources, contains at least two untruths: The tanks were falsely presented as backing a fictitious Egyptian operation, just as the Cairo communiqué pretended that large numbers of terrorists were killed and wounded “in action” or detained.
There were no terrorist casualties because the entire operation was made of whole cloth, a Sinai desert mirage.
That the Netanyahu government and defense chiefs went along with this fiction is the real issue.
They have committed Israel to accepting the entry of Egyptian military forces into Sinai for the stated purpose of combating terror – a stipulation the Cairo government under the Muslim Brotherhood has demonstrated it has no intention of upholding. Just the reverse: The Egyptian troops positioned in Sinai are ordered to keep their powder dry and stand by as the terrorist cells of the “Mujaheddin Brigades in the Jerusalem Vicinity” – which is closely allied to Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula – goes from strength to strength.

Yet some Israeli media have suggested sympathetically that the Egyptian army was forced to slow down its counter-terror operations for lack of intelligence on the armed cells’ whereabouts.

An Israel officer serving in the sector retorted angrily that every Egyptian and Israeli officer serving anywhere in or near Sinai knows exactly where the gunmen are skulking and their training facilities located. “The trouble is that Egyptian officers who go past those places look the other way,” he said.
The only action the Morsi government has taken on the quiet is to place a security buffer strip along the Egyptian-Israeli border off-limits to civilian traffic.
Our military sources report this strip has been dubbed “The American Highway” of Sinai, because its 260 kilometers were paved in secret by US military engineers. It runs from the MFO peacekeepers’ Mediterranean base at Sheikh Zuweid in northern Sinai down to Taba, providing a safe route for the peacekeepers, most of them members of the US 82nd Airborne Division, between their northern base and their headquarters at Sharm el-Sheikh.

Egypt no doubt intended this buffer strip to serve additionally for keeping terrorists at a distance from its border with Israel. But IDF observers in that area see very little Egyptian military activity for keeping it sterile and closed to hostile movements.
Once the Salafis are organized in a militia and formally recognized as such by Cairo, it will be that much harder to keep them from breaching the buffer strip abutting the Israeli border.”

Well, wadda ya know, the Duplicitous Despot just happens to be a man badly in need of a serious crisis, and the Middle East just happens to be on fire. But surely Obama couldn’t have created the turmoil in Arab countries all by himself, could he?

No, but he certainly has done everything within his power to fan the flames of discontent throughout the region, such as playing up the infamous, anti-Muslim YouTube video as the cause of the “spontaneous” Islamic protests.

While it’s true that Muslims are simply doing what they’ve been doing for more than 14 centuries – looking for excuses to cause death and destruction – they have been increasingly emboldened by Barack Obama’s overt support of radical Islam worldwide.

Contrary to what many naïve Republicans would like to believe, it is not Obama’s incompetence or lack of understanding of the Middle East that are behind his curious attitude toward the ongoing chaos in the region.

Obama knows exactly what he’s doing, and it is his totally consistent actions – and lack of actions (e.g., barely managing a yawn in response to the murder of U.S. Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three embassy staff members in Libya on Sept. 11 and refusing to give pro-American protesters in Iran and Syria so much as an encouraging word) – that have brought bad endings to such Arab dictators as Egypt’s Hosni Mubarak, Libya’s Moammar Gadhafi, Yemen’s Ali Saleh and Tunisia’s Ben Ali, all of whom, to one extent or another, were U.S. allies.

So if this is the crisis Obama has been hoping for to allow him to continue moving forward with the dreams of his father, how will he go about capitalizing on it? One possibility is military intervention, which is a euphemism for war, because for a devious political leader, one of war’s most useful purposes is that it’s a great attention diverter.

Had World War II not come along, FDR would have continued to prolong the Great Depression through his never-ending, economy-draining government works programs and draconian taxation on producers. It took people’s minds off their economic misery and refocused them on patriotism – on feeling good about America once more.

Of course, FDR was not the only Democratic president to take us to war. One of the many liberal myths that have been ingrained in the minds of the general public for decades is that conservatives are the party of war, while Democrats are the party of peace. But the facts clearly show that for at least the past hundred years, Democrats have been just as willing to go to war as Republicans.

In addition to FDR, Woodrow Wilson led the U.S. into World War I in 1917, and in 1950, after practically blowing Japan off the map in 1945, Harry Truman committed U.S. troops to fight against the North Koreans – the first in a string of no-win wars.

And, of course, let us not forget that John F. Kennedy clumsily got the U.S. into a “police action” in a country no one had ever heard of before (to help the French, no less!), a little police action that became a national nightmare – a losing national nightmare – the Vietnam War.

Which brings us to today and the first totally unvetted president in U.S. history. The Dean of Duplicity could use the radical uprisings in the Middle East, which he has clearly inflamed since the appearance of the infamous Arab Spring, to show voters how strong he is by starting yet another war in the Middle East. This, however, is a bit tricky for him, because he would run the risk of angering the anti-war crowd. But never underestimate Obama’s ability to dish out smooth-as-silk doublespeak.

A second possibility as to how Obama might take advantage of the chaos in the Middle East is to do the exact opposite of war – make nice to Muslim radicals who now control these countries and thereby appear to be a strong and wise leader possessing unmatched powers of diplomacy. If he could calm things down a week or so before the election, Homer Simpson voters (aka “undecideds”) might see him as a persuasive, influential player on the world stage and reward him with their votes.

But the third possibility is the one that worries me the most. Since Obama beat Mush McCain in 2008, I’ve been warning about the possibility of his declaring a phony state of emergency as an excuse to “postpone” the 2012 elections. In that vein, doesn’t it seem a bit too convenient that Iran has picked this particular time to raise the stakes with regard to its nuclear threat against Israel?

The far left, of course, would love a state of emergency and suspension of the November elections, and the right would be rendered impotent while frantically searching for their microscopic gonads. As Obama has already discovered, there are no consequences to his violating the Constitution with reckless abandon.

Of course, if Obama could continue to mesmerize enough Homer Simpsons to give him a commanding lead in the polls going into October, he might be willing to gamble on leaving his fate in the hands of the voters. But if he’s behind in the polls in October – or the race is too close to call – don’t discount the possibility of his declaring a trumped-up state of emergency to suspend the elections.

Let me emphasize that I am by no means 100 percent certain this will happen, but I am 100 percent certain that Obama and his Obamafia would do such a thing if they thought they could get away with it. Maybe it’s just my paranoia, but something doesn’t smell right about the timing of the unusually high level of Mideast madness.”

“The Obama administration notified Congress on Friday that it would provide Egypt’s new government an emergency cash infusion of $450 million, but the aid immediately encountered resistance from a prominent lawmaker wary of foreign aid and Egypt’s new course under the leadership of the Muslim Brotherhood.

The aid is part of the $1 billion in assistance that the Obama administration has pledged to Egypt to bolster its transition to democracy after the overthrow last year of the former president, Hosni Mubarak. Its fate, however, was clouded by concerns over the new government’s policies and, more recently, the protests that damaged the American Embassy in Cairo.

The United States Agency for International Development notified Congress of the cash infusion on Friday morning during the pre-election recess, promptly igniting a smoldering debate over foreign aid and the administration’s handling of crises in the Islamic world.

An influential Republican lawmaker, Representative Kay Granger of Texas, immediately announced that she would use her position as chairwoman of the House appropriations subcommittee overseeing foreign aid to block the distribution of the money. She said the American relationship with Egypt “has never been under more scrutiny” than it is in the wake of the election of President Mohamed Morsi, a former leader of the Muslim Brotherhood.

“I am not convinced of the urgent need for this assistance and I cannot support it at this time,” Ms. Granger said in a statement that her office issued even before the administration announced the package.

Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, speaking at a meeting of the Group of 8 nations in New York, said on Friday that the world needed to do more to support the governments that have emerged from the Arab Spring uprisings, including those in Egypt, Libya and Tunisia.

“The recent riots and protests throughout the region have brought the challenge of transition into sharp relief,” Mrs. Clinton said, without mentioning the assistance to Egypt specifically. “Extremists are clearly determined to hijack these wars and revolutions to further their agendas and ideology, so our partnership must empower those who would see their nations emerge as true democracies.”

The debate comes as the issue of foreign aid in general made an unexpected appearance in the presidential campaign.

In a speech in New York on Tuesday, Mr. Obama’s Republican challenger, Mitt Romney, called for revamping assistance to focus more on investments in the private sector than on direct aid — a shift administration officials have said is under way.

While Mr. Romney did not address aid to Egypt directly, he cited Mr. Morsi’s membership in the Muslim Brotherhood as one of the alarming developments in the Middle East, along with the war in Syria, Iran’s pursuit of nuclear weapons and the killing of the American ambassador to Libya.

“A temporary aid package can jolt an economy,” he said. “It can fund some projects. It can pay some bills. It can employ some people some of the time. But it can’t sustain an economy — not for long. It can’t pull the whole cart, because at some point the money runs out.”

The $1 billion in aid, announced by Mr. Obama in May 2011, was initially intended to relieve Egypt’s debts to the United States, though negotiations stalled during the country’s turbulent transition from military rule to the election of Mr. Morsi this summer.

In recent weeks, negotiations over the assistance picked up pace, and the administration decided to provide $450 million instead, including $190 million immediately, because the country’s economic crisis has become acute, with an estimated budget shortfall of $12 billion.

The assistance outlined in letters to Congress on Friday would be contingent on Egypt’s setting in motion economic and budgetary changes that the International Monetary Fund is now negotiating as part of a $4.8 billion loan.

The administration has also thrown its support behind that loan, and officials said they hoped it would be completed before the end of the year. A $260 million infusion would come when the much larger loan is completed, according to officials familiar with the package. By law, all assistance to Egypt is contingent on the country’s meeting certain requirements, including adherence to basic democratic values and the Camp David peace treaty with Israel.

The protests over an anti-Muslim video and the storming of the American Embassy in Cairo on Sept. 11 came even as senior White House and State Department officials led a large business delegation to promote economic assistance and trade in Egypt.

Mr. Morsi’s slow response to the protests raised concerns in Washington, although administration officials later cited improved cooperation over the embassy’s security.

The $1 billion in assistance has been cobbled together from funds already appropriated by Congress, but the administration is required to notify lawmakers of its intention to release any of the funds. Ms. Granger presumably can put a hold on that release and pursue legislation to reverse the appropriation.

Mrs. Clinton lobbied lawmakers last week during closed-door briefings that focused on the tumult across the region, including the attack at the American diplomatic mission in Libya that killed Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens and three other Americans.

In addition to the $1 billion in assistance, the administration is working with Egypt to provide $375 million in financing and loan guarantees for American financiers who invest in Egypt and a $60 million investment fund for Egyptian businesses. All of that comes on top of $1.3 billion in military aid that the United States provides Egypt each year.

A senior State Department official said that the administration would consult with members of Congress in the days ahead “to make the case that this budget support is firmly in U.S. interests in seeing peace, stability and democracy in Egypt and the wider neighborhood”.

EVERY so often it is valuable to step outside ones regular sphere.

In this regard, blog postings at this site are (mainly, but not exclusively) dedicated to pressing issues germane to Zionist & Conservative ethos. Nevertheless, there are societal issues which similarly demand attention, even if geo-politics leaves little room for much else.

With the above in mind it is incumbent to further the discussion, thus, adding some required context to the disease, via its clinical progression. It is called a ‘stealth’ killer, being that so many deaths are clinically attributed to alcoholism but are often reported otherwise. However, there is nothing stealthy about its very obvious effects – except to those stubbornly refusing to recognize them.

Stages of Alcoholism: Denial Stage 1

“For some, drinking is an enjoyable and social activity. Whether it’s a cocktail in a stylish corporate watering hole in the downtown business district, or beers at the local sports bar, people gather for a few drinks and enjoy the crowd. However, for some, the drinks go beyond social contact, becoming not so much about social contact, but need. But if you were to ask them if they think they’ve had enough, the answer would be “no” and most likely followed by “There’s nothing wrong,” or “I don’t have a problem.” This is characteristic of the first of the stages of alcoholism.

Denial is a powerful enemy to well being. The problem may be obvious to others, but the one in the clutches of early alcoholism is either oblivious, or makes a conscious choice to ignore that is clearly before him/her. In the early stage of the disease, the person has enjoyed the effect of alcohol and desires to repeat the experience. If one drink is good, then two must be better. However, as the disease starts to progress, it will take greater amounts of the drug alcohol to achieve the same feeling. In this stage of the disease, it is often difficult to tell an alcoholic from a heavy drinker.

People build up a tolerance to alcohol and its effects, which is why people who progress to the other stages of the disease can drink their buddies under the table and may not even appear to be tipsy. They may even have a couple of drinks before going to a party or social event, just to make sure they can get a buzz without being too obvious about it. That leads to the next stage.

Stages of Alcoholism: The Cover Up Stage 2

Because people will develop a tolerance to alcohol, and because it will take more and more alcohol to achieve the desired effect, what used to be a couple of drinks after work turns into a drink at lunch as well. Drinking is no longer just a way to get a buzz and have a pleasurable experience, it becomes away to self-medicate and numb the pain.

As the disease progresses, a person might start drinking earlier in the day. Part of American culture is the proverbial “two martini lunch” which is sort of a twisted badge of courage, so to speak, as if being able to down alcohol at lunch makes one more of a player in the business world.

The real problem is that people will drink during the day because they have to. It’s not about some psychological relief, or a way to reduce stress, it’s about dependence. People slipping into this middle stage of the disease will experience cravings for alcohol.

When people “need” a drink, rather than merely wanting to enjoy a drink, it’s a sign of dependence. People may not perceive a loss of control, but they may see that the one losing control needs to “cut back.”

Husbands and wives, children, people at work all might notice that something is wrong. The drinker, who is still in denial, might make efforts to cover up his/her increasing habit. They may sneak into the washroom and have a drink, or in some other way cover up their need for alcohol. This is characteristic of the second of the stages of alcoholism.

There may also be some physical side effects that go beyond merely having a hangover after a party. That hangover becomes a regular occurrence. As the tolerance to alcohol increases, the quantity of alcohol consumed may cause blackouts.

People develop the “shakes” in the morning, hand tremors that others notice. They need a drink to calm down. Other health issues might arise at this second stage, such as stomach disorders. Blood pressure problems, etc.

As the disease progresses into this stage, we begin to see just how cruel alcoholism is, as the person with the problem denies it and covers up, and may even turn on those who are trying to help. It’s their fault that the alcoholic has problems. They may agree to cut back just to get the other person to shut up about it, but they can’t. The disease has crept forward, beyond the point of their ability to control it.

Stages of Alcoholism: You’re Wrong, I’m Right Stage 3

My friend Chaplain Dwayne Olson states, “We use things, people, ideas, additively for our own pleasure.” When I first heard that I scratched my head and thought nothing of it. However, as I pondered its message, I soon realized that the operative word at the end of the statement was “additively.” Everything feeds the addiction. The alcoholic is losing control at this stage and alcohol becomes the center of his/her life.

What started out as the desire to have a couple of drinks, turns into several beyond that limit, mainly because the individual cannot stop drinking. By this time, the addicted person has probably had some warnings from family and friends that the drinking has gotten in the way. People miss work, or even begin to have some health problems directly linked to alcohol consumption.

People run into legal problems here, like DUI. People go to bars, get drunk, get into fights and maybe even commit felonies. By this stage, the alcohol is in control, not the person. He/she needs a drink in the morning or a drink in the afternoon, just to feel “normal.” This is characteristic of the third of the stages of alcoholism.

If you are at this stage, trying just to get by, your view of your behavior is doing what is necessary. To others, you have become manipulative, self-centered, out of control and are at risk of throwing your life away. The people in your life want you to get treatment, but you say that isn’t necessary. Maybe you don’t eat, or take care of yourself, but you push all that aside to get your drink.

Stages of Alcoholism: Out of Control Stage 4

In the previous stages of the disease of alcoholism people are able to function in their every day life. They are struggling with losing control over their drinking, but they can usually hold down a job, and even appear to be perfectly healthy to someone who does not know them well. However, as the disease of alcoholism progresses, the need for alcohol trumps all other desires or needs in life. The person has completely lost control.

The person may have been a “problem drinker” or may have had a couple too many from time to time, or may have been able to mask his/her disease by putting on an act, but as the disease tightens its grip in the neck of the alcoholic, any semblance of control is gone. They drink throughout the day, needing the alcohol to function. This is characteristic of the fourth of the stages of alcoholism.

In earlier stages, the alcoholic may have had a small measure of control, a choice, but that choice is now wiped away and replaced with dependence. Chaplain Dwayne says “One drink is too many and Lake Michigan isn’t enough.”

The statement illustrates the predicament the alcoholic finds him/herself in at the end stage of the disease. They can’t stop drinking. That little checkpoint in the brain that indicates enough is no longer functional. People go on benders, drinking uncontrollably, sometimes for days. They never reach that point of satisfaction they had when they first experienced that pleasurable buzz when they first began.

After several drinks, people may pass out on the couch. This is not necessarily true of the alcoholic who has slipped into the end stage of the disease. They continue to drink and “function” only they have to recollection if it. These are blackouts.

They may not remember going home, or having an argument with a friend, or sideswiping parked cars or even running over and killing a pedestrian. They cannot control their behavior and they lost any possible control with the first drink. These blackouts can occur during earlier stages of the disease, but are more common the longer the disease progresses.

If denied alcohol, the alcoholic in this stage will display serious withdrawal symptoms. The shakes they may have experienced earlier in the progression of the disease are now more severe. He/she may experience hallucinations along with the convulsions, known as the DT’s (delirium tremors).

When people are at this point, withdrawal can be fatal, and therefore medical intervention is necessary. Even with the medical intervention, the DTs are an extremely difficult experience for the alcoholic. Alcohol withdrawal is particularly nasty and ugly to witness.

Even after having the DTs, and needing a hospital stay to recover from the withdrawal, an alcoholic is very likely to go back to their drinking habit. They may nearly have killed themselves with the toxic drug, but they are still addicted. Even if they are “dry” they are still a “dry drunk.”

Treatment is necessary to place any kind of management component in their lives. They promise never to drink again, but without treatment, in most cases, they will surely start the cycle all over again, only this time going from stage one to stage four will be rapid. Left to their own devices, the alcoholics got into terrible, life-threatening trouble. Their own devices will not likely sustain them moving forward.

Stages of Alcoholism: Deterioration Stage 5

Alcohol, unlike other drugs, affects all areas of the body. It’s not just the brain, or the lungs, but also the heart, liver, kidneys, intestines, etc. Alcohol is extremely toxic, especially at this point, where a person drinks heavily and constantly.

We mentioned self-medicating earlier, which speaks to a psychological issue, but the damage done by the alcohol effects the organs as well, so the alcoholic at this stage may suffer from many conditions.

Think of alcohol as the common link. In speaking to the patient care manager of a medical respiratory intensive care unit at a large urban hospital, it was shared that in 50 to 75 percent of all cases that come through that unit, alcohol is a major player. This is characteristic of the fifth and final of the stages of alcoholism.

Still, in this serious stage, the alcoholic will continue to drink, unless prevented from doing so. While it seems “crazy” to some that a person would continue down this destructive path, by the time they reach this point, they are completely out of control, have no ability to reason through the problem and they probably are delusional.

In earlier stages, they are in denial, but in this stage, they are not capable of understanding what is happening to them. They crave the drug and they will do anything to get a drink. The addiction is in TOTAL control.

Denial, once again, is a strong enemy. Had it not been for denial, the progression of the disease might have stopped long before the person’s body starts to shut down or fall apart. Any spiritual or psychological issues might have been addressed. Problems in life might have been solved. Sadly, even with intensive and expert medical intervention, if a person has been down the path for too long, the alcohol may win the war and kill the person.”

Like a beckoning lover, the refuge of alcohol holds an irresistible allure, especially to those who are prone to risky and compulsive behavior. Complicating the equation is the steady availability of liquor, in most every setting. Adding fuel to the addictive fire, those who are seeking quick relief from problems (often in the throes of depression), hope to chase away their demons in the (initial) warm embrace of alcohol, for as long as possible.

But like other addictive substances, alcohol enslaves the drinker to its succumbing effects, with little or no warning. Lest anyone dares think this disease mainly grips the less educated – skid row bum types – think again. Far from it.

The sabotage of the Fordo uranium enrichment facility’s power lines on Aug. 17 gave Israel Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu extra leeway to move his original red line for Iran from late September 2012 – now – to the spring or early summer of 2013. The disruption of the underground enrichment plant’s power supply caused several of the advanced IR-1 and IR-4 centrifuges producing the 20-percent grade uranium to burst into flames. Work was temporarily halted and the accumulation of 240 kilos for Iran’s first nuclear bomb slowed down by at least six months, DEBKAfile’s intelligence sources report.
Hence Netanyahu’s new red line timeline of “late spring, early summer” – before which preventive action is imperative – in his speech to the UN General Assembly Thursday, Sept. 27.
Our military sources report that the advantage gained is already proving short-lived. Iran has pounced back fast with two aggressive counter-moves on Israel’s doorstep:
1. Thousands of elite Al Qods Brigades officers and men are being airlifted into Lebanon and Syria and deployed opposite Israeli borders (as DEBKAfile has reported);

2. Shortly before the Israeli Prime Minister rose to speak in New York, Syrian President Bashar Assad again removed chemical weapons out of storage. Some were almost certainly passed to the incoming Iranian units. The weapons’ movements were accounted for as a precaution for “greater security,” but in practice they will be ready for use against Israel when the order is handed down from Tehran.

Friday, Sept. 28, US Defense Secretary Leon Panetta was specifically asked by a reporter if it was believed that “Iran’s Revolutionary Guards or Syrian rebels had been able to get possession of any of the chemical weapons” which the secretary had just disclosed were on the move. He left the door open, saying only that he had “no firm information to confirm this.” That sort of question never comes out of thin air.

It was also the second time in three weeks that the defense secretary mentioned the movements of Syrian chemical weapons out of storage. This time, he said, ‘‘There has been intelligence that there have been some moves that have taken place. Where exactly that’s taken place, we don’t know.” But he did not rule out the possibility that they were being made ready for use.

This non-denial tied in closely with the words heard that day from US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton: “Iran has left no doubt that it will do whatever it takes to protect the government of Syrian President Bashar Assad, Tehran’s staunch ally,” she said.
Syrian chemical weapons movements out of storage, the presence of crack Iranian fighting units on Israel’s borders and Tehran’s determination to keep Assad in power “whatever it takes” hung in menacing silence over Netanyahu’s powerful cartoon presentation of the Iranian nuclear peril.
Already on Sept. 16, the Revolutionary Guards chief Gen. Ali Jafary announced publicly that al Qods Brigades personnel had landed not only in Syria but also Lebanon. The chemical weapons may therefore have already reached Hizballah or be on their way there unbeknownst to US intelligence.
Both Netanyahu and Defense Minister Ehud Barak have repeatedly stated that the transfer of chemical weapons to Hizballah would necessitate Israeli military action.
The IDF’s large-scale military call-up and firing exercise on the Golan of Sept. 19 failed to deter the Iranian military buildup opposite Israeli northern borders in Syria and Lebanon. The Iranian airlift continues and US intelligence has not denied that some al Qods arrivals may now be armed with chemical weapons.
The Iranian threat to Israel is therefore far from static; it is gaining substance and menace, keeping two IDF divisions on call in northern Israel after the exercise was over.
Netanyahu’s red line for preventing Iran achieving a 240-kilo enriched uranium stockpile does not cover an Iranian preemptive attack on the Jewish state before then – as threatened explicitly by the Iranian missiles Corps chief Brig. Gen. Amir Ali Hajizade on Sept. 24.

Neither had Israeli officials anything to say about the Hamas leaders’ trips to Beirut and Tehran this month to sign military accords with the Revolutionary Guards and Hizballah pledging the Palestinian extremists’ participation in an attack on Israel.
The red line on the cartoon bomb which Netanyahu held up so effectively at the UN Thursday covered only one segment of the peril Tehran poses for the Jewish state. A more immediate danger lurks in the north”.

There is no doubt that Israel has deeply hidden assets within Iran’s hideaways. But make no mistake. There is only so much that can be done to delay their genocidal project, therefore, pre-emption is a given.

However, with Syria’s chemical arsenal on the loose ( never mind what the U.S. says about “this or that” ), coupled with Iran’s airlift of thousands of fighters, DIRECTLY on Israel’s northern borders, this much is for sure – “this date or that date” is little more than shifting sand.
