‘IDF Kills Top Hamas Commander’
‘Witnesses said Jabari was traveling in his vehicle in Gaza City when his car exploded.
Israeli officials had said in recent days that they were considering assassinating top Hamas officials following a wave of heavy rocket fire from the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip.
Hamas’s military chief was killed when his car was hit by an Israeli airstrike on Wednesday, the Palestinian Islamist group said, with multiple Israeli attacks rocking the Gaza Strip.
Hamas said Ahmed Al-Jaabari, who ran the organisation’s armed wing, the Izz al-Dinn al-Qassam Brigades, died along with his son after their car was targeted by an Israeli missile.
Israel’s Shin Bet domestic intelligence service confirmed it had carried out the attack, saying it had killed Jaabri because of his “decade-long terrorist activity.”
Ahmed Jabari becomes the most senior Hamas official to be killed since an Israeli invasion of Gaza four years ago. Jabari has long topped Israel’s most-wanted list.

The Israeli Navy bombarded targets from the sea and an air raid targeted a building in Gaza City overnight Saturday housing media agencies and television stations, wounding six journalists from Iran’s PressTV and al-Quds television, a station Israel sees as pro-Hamas, witnesses said.IDF Spokeswoman Avital Leibovich on Sunday briefed foreign press about on the media building, saying “we obviously know there are journalists in the building, so we did not attack any other floor,” according to an audio recording of the briefing.The IDF said it was targeting a “transmission antenna used by Hamas to carry out terror activity.” Britain’s Sky News and Hamas’s Al-Aqsa TV were damaged in the attack. Sort of like the glass half empty crowd…Well, to those who have such meandering/sentimental thoughts, here are a few tidbits (almost never mentioned) to salve your worried/furrowed brow.
WHEREAS Israel’s kiddies are their ACTUAL targets, as they rocket/missile into civilian areas – schools are their favorite – the IDF takes great pains (this blogger has no patience for their forbearance, but she digresses) to AVOID civilian casualties.
Has anyone, ever in the history of warfare, heard of any army dropping leaflets (in any language, let alone Arabic), warning citizens to leave said areas, as they risk getting caught in the strike? Hell, the Syrians are currently wiping out tens of thousands of fellow Arabs sans dropping any warnings, other than mega bombs!
As reported today by Israel National News – “Earlier in the day, the IDF seized control of the Hamas radio airwaves to deliver a message to the population. “Hamas is playing with fire, and is putting your lives in danger for no purpose,” the message stated. “The Israel Defense Forces is moving to the next stage.”
