But to understand the depth of Lee Kaplan’s intelligence credentials (thus, taking his heeding/pleadings very seriously), the first stepping stone relates to his founding of Stop The ISM and the connection herein. A little background is in order. Significantly, Lee Kaplan is, first and foremost, a hard nosed investigative reporter, a dying breed in the field of journalism, though middle aged. He takes no prisoners. He is a student of geo-politics, having been schooled at the University of California, Berkeley, a hotbed/bastion of leftist radicalism and indoctrination, yet he survived with his Conservative head intact-a feat of herculean proportions.

Most importantly-for the wider readership-he wears several hats, but most intrinsically for Israel is the one he dons to track/hunt/trail the ISM –http://www.stoptheism.com/. Chilling. It is through his work with Stop The ISM  that we crossed paths. Specifically, from 2003-2007, we worked on an investigative series (this American-Israeli followed the “money laundering”) for David Horowitz’s FrontPageMagazine, a site which many readers are familiar with. The investigation was so hot that it was necessary to bypass a by-line, but allowed credits to appear at the end of the expose. The readers should know that Lee Kaplan gets threats on his life, as often as some people go out to sit down at a fancy dinner. Also received some unwarranted “admirers”, and was even advised to “back off”….were these guys delusional….did they know who they were dealing with….apparently not. Be that as it may, prudence was in order, and a by-line would have been pushing the envelope.

It is one thing to read articles from those whose only claim to fame is their sheepskin from journalism school, as well as their associations with group-think fellow scribes. It is a horse of another color when one is not only a student of geo-politics, and a hard hitting investigative journalist, but also one who is “up close and personal” with his subjects. Lastly, but no less important, is Lee Kaplan’s ability to gain the attention of Israel’s Shin Bet security services. Simply put, many of their operatives are indebted to Lee Kaplan. If not for his keen intelligence work, not only would many more highly dangerous infiltrators – who directly aid and abet Islamic terrorists against Israel – be free to enter the Jewish homeland, to both consort with fellow operatives within Israel, and also within PA/Fatah/Gaza territory, but they would not have his much needed testimony, required in the Rachel Corrie court case. This is just a sampling of his “assistance”.

As forthrightly – some might say ominously – stated by Lee Kaplan in “Israel Must Define the Target – And Take Aim’ , “Israel’s head is spinning like a drunk who spent the night at the pub. The question is, will the drunk be able to  make his way home? To do so, what must he do?”.
